Banned!

By Timothy V. Gatto

I have been writing about the same things for years now. I have been writing against the loss of our freedoms, the draconian laws that have been enacted in order to “protect” us from people that “hate us for our freedom”, I have written about the corporations that have tied this nation to war and more war. Even though my message has been the same, I find that my writing has fallen on deaf ears as of late. In fact, my writing, because of my criticism of this phony two-party system that has led us to where we are now, I have been banned from OpEdNews.com, DailyKos.com.TPMMuckracker.com, and left me with a small sidebar on SmirkingChimp.com.

Why has this happened? I am still the same writer that was given headlines when I wrote about the state of our nation under George W. Bush. I am still decrying the loss of our liberties that Congress has allowed this corrupt regime to take away from Americans. I am still the same writer that had tried to expose the corporate influence of our mainstream media that hypes the lies of the right wing neo-cons.

The difference today is that I refuse to accept the stranglehold of our two-party system that has brought this once proud nation to where it is today. I have refused to accept, let alone believe the Democrats that colluded with this administration in continuing this war in Iraq. I have called the Democratic challengers to speak truth to power, and when they blithely went on talking in abstracts I called them on that too. Now I find myself with very few venues to write on.

If you believe that you have a right to hear the truth, you will write to the “Gatekeepers” of these so-called “Progressive sites” and tell them to allow me to publish the truth. I have spoken out against the neo-cons that are currently in power in Israel and who mercilessly kill the residents of Gaza. I have railed against the power of AIPAC. I have written about the Rockefellers and the Rothschild’s and all the other bankers behind the curtain that pull the fiscal strings in this country. What that has gotten me is a charge of anti-Semitism and led me to be disenfranchised from the Progressive/Liberal Community.

This is what Progressives believe? Are they so gullible that any hint of “change” will allow them to believe that the Democratic Party will suddenly rise up against their corporate masters and bring back freedom of expression and allow honorable dissent? Let me tell you something, the Democrats don’t give a flying fig about you or your values. The same people that have banned me from speaking out against this rapidly growing totalitarian state have shown this writer that you can say anything you wish against George Bush and Company, but the minute you write against the duopoly of the Democratic/Republican parties, you will no longer be allowed to speak.

Let me make one thing absolutely clear, I will continue to speak out against everything I see as propaganda and lies to keep this duopoly in place. This country is no longer the nation that I served for 21 years in the military, if it ever was. I’m tired of 1st Amendment zones and politically correct jargon when referring to the Democrats that are just as culpable as the Republicans as to where we find this country now. These “Progressive” sites can ban me until they no longer exist, it will not stop me from speaking out. I have nothing against the people that are hoping for “Change”, that is their right to hope for something better. I want change too. I really don’t believe though, that the people running for office who are supported by the very same entities that make up the lion’s share of political contributions are going to usher in anything but the same status quo.

So go ahead and read you “Progressive” sites and remember that people that don’t agree with their perspective are banned from writing on these sites. Think about the meaning of the word banned. I do, I’m living with it.

That’s the way I see it.
