Tell Them The Truth

Like all wars in history the
US invasion of Korea was based on lies. (Remember Truman’s reason
for invading Korea? "North Korea's attack on South Korea showed
the world communism has passed beyond the use of subversion to conquer
independent nations and will now use armed invasion and war"
The US invasion of Vietnam (Remember the Domino Theory?) was based on lies. The US invasion of Iraq was based on lies. (Weapons of Mass destruction must be some-where) The brain numbing realization of knowing that most people know they are lies and blindly follow the liars anyway frustrates all attempts by peace people to break the cycle. No matter how many innocent civilians die or even that their own sons and daughters may die, the blind faith followers conform and continue their political masturbation that always leads to disappointment and death.
On a bright sunny April day in 1999 I joined about fifty others in front of the federal building in my home state. I carried a sign that read, "Mr. President how many kids did you kill today?" The sign agitated the hecklers on the other side of the street and they directed most of their venomous ignorance at me.
US bombers
in defiance of international law were dropping cluster bombs and uranium
tipped missiles on the helpless people of what was once a progressing
socialist state.
The very day before I carried my sign the president of the United States was speaking to a group of students about how to prevent another high school shooting. He said, "to avoid having bad things happen, learning to manage your anger and to actually share how you really feel about something, and get it behind you is one of the most important aspects of growing up. And you would be amazed how few people can really do it right." President Clinton never grew up.
The Ministry of Foreign affairs of Yugoslavia issued this statement on10 May 1999.
The killing
of several dozen of children during the bombing of the train in Grdelica
gorge on 12 April, the buss in Luzani on 1 May and buss on the Pec-Rozaje
road on 3 May 1999 (See Chapter I-c).
The killing of nineteen children in the refugee column near Djakovica
on 14 April 1999 (Chapter I-d).
The killing of twelve children during the bombing of Surdulica on
27 April 1999.
The killing of nine children in the bombing of Kursumlija.
The killing of seven children in Srbica from cluster bombs.
The killing of six children in the bombing of a refugee center in
Djakovica.
The killing of five children from the Koxa family in the village of
ß
Doganovici near Urosevac when six children were wounded by cluster
bombs.
Three children and two adults killed by a cluster bomb in the village of Velika Jablanica near Pec on 2 May 1999.
Two children killed in Aleksinac on 5 April 1999.
The killing
of a three-year old girl in the Belgrade suburb of Batajnica, and
many other cases.
Children
are most often victims of the sprinkle cluster bombs with delayed
effect. The death toll on children would have been even more tragic,
had the missile exploded some thirty meters from the biggest Maternity
Hospital in Belgrade.
From the onset of NATO’s aggression from March 24 to June 11,
1999, the North Atlantic Treaty Alliance (NATO) flew over 35,000 combat
missions over the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. Over 1,000 warplanes
(among others F-15, F-16, F-117) and 206 helicopters were used in
the air strikes. More than 20,000 laser or satellite-guided weapons
were launched and over 79,000 tons of explosives were dropped, including
152 containers with 35,450 cluster bombs, thermo-visual and graphite
bombs, all are prohibited under international conventions."
It was all because the media soaked American people accepted the lies. During the campaign, President Clinton, Secretary Cohen, and Secretary Albright kept the fires burning by adding more lies. They claimed that there were 10,000 to 100,000 missing and probably killed in consequence of the alleged plan of ethnic cleansing by Milosevic, However, the Hague Tribunal discovered only 2,108 bodies dead from different times and the bodies were of different ethnic people. They were not part of a Serb massacre.
Children suffered the most making up almost %30 of the dead and are still living with the danger of the cluster bombs.
On February
19, 2008 President Bush said," Sunday, the people of Kosovo declared
their independence. They have asked the United States for diplomatic
recognition, and yesterday the United States formally recognized Kosovo
as a sovereign and independent nation.
In it's declaration of independence Kosovo committed itself to the highest standards of democracy, including freedom and tolerance and justice for citizens of all ethnic backgrounds. These are principles that honor human dignity, they are values America looks for in a friend, and soon we will establish full diplomatic relations with the new nation of Kosovo."
Hillary
Clinton followed that statement saying, "I welcome the historic
declaration of Kosova independence issued today in Pristina. I urge
our friends and allies and around the world to join the United States
and European Union countries in promptly recognizing an independent
Kosova."
Not to be outdone by his opponent Senator Obama said, "I honor the service of all Americans, military and civilian, who have worked so hard to bring peace to the Balkans. The United States must continue to work with our European allies on behalf of the security and prosperity of the entire region. I am convinced that, with our support, Serbia and Kosovo can emerge as models of democratic and economic growth, and their people can know a bright future."
On February 13, 2008 Albanian lobbyist Joe DioGuardi. Said about Senator McCain "He did everything that we asked of him, including arming the KLA" The Albanian group that he represents contributed over $one million to McCain’s campaign.
McCain said, "The people of Kosovo should be commended for the great strides they have made and the bright future that lies ahead",
On February 24, 2008 Serbia's hard-line leaders indicted the United States calling the US "the main culprit in the violence that has broken out since Kosovo declared independence." Several thousands of Serbs chanting "Kosovo is Serbia!" protested peacefully Some protesters in the Serbian capital Belgrade set fire to the US Embassy, angered by Washington's recognition of Kosovo. The question is, did we win, and if so what did we win? The US foreign policy has failed again as it did in Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, and Venezuela. Etc, etc.
None of
this is news, but I recently had a near death experience and I came
to the conclusion then that Leon Trotsky was right when he said, "Life
is not an easy matter... You cannot live through it without falling
into frustration and cynicism unless you have before you a great idea
which raises you above personal misery, above weakness, above all
kinds of perfidy and baseness."
The idea is simple, tell the people the truth. The trouble is our so-called leaders are so entangled in their own web of lies that they are not capable of such an Idea.
