We must fight the encroaching fascism. We must fight it hard and fight it now. This time, fascism is global in its implications and nuclear in its capabilities.

Today we are all Yemenis, Libyans, Iraqis, Iranians, Somalis, Sudanese, and Syrians. Today we are all connected humans who will not see the bullies win. Today we are all empaths. Today we are all fighters.

Humans have powers they know very little about, until tested. Hate indeed powers much of what we see but the desire for love, decency, and justice unleash incredible abilities in each of us. The tools by which we conduct normal life are not sufficient. The tools that appear when we care deeply, are the right ones to use.

Protest is one such tool. Divestment is another. Boycotts are a third. All are animated by the same motive force- to bear witness to injustice and to put our own power in its way. Governments succeed when people consent, even with things they know are immoral. Governments succeed when we are passive, when we look the other way, when we “wait and see,” when we worry about our own implication in the struggle.

We Must Fight.

    Fight we must !
With exact aim at the target
    Knowing our enemies
    We should unite our friends
And become a potent force against a deadly opponent ..
    Fight we must
Till we root out the selective discrimination
    Suppression and exploitation
By racists, religious bigots, Nazi inspired fascists …
    Fight we must!
