Perhaps,
One of the main mistakes of my life
Was that I was born.
But I can assure you,
I could not help it.
I was not responsible.
Perhaps,
The other mistake of my life
Was that I am not dead.
I was not responsible
For that either.
Still,
If you want to blame me,
Please go ahead!
To engage with
The living dead
And the dead living
Seems to be my destiny.
Still,
If you want to blame me
Please go ahead.
To engage with
The unborn
Waiting for generations to pass
And then to emerge
On a barren land
Under the burning clouds,
And to engage with
The living unborn
Moving as corpses
On the streets of
Unlit funeral pyres
Seems to be my destiny.
Still,
If you want to blame me
Please go ahead.
I cannot help it.
And it is certainly
Not my mistake.
Perhaps it is yours.

Great poetry. But the most critical issue is that so many SUPERNATURAL POWERS sitting in the HEAVEN up there remain neutral on this cleansing.
No, Sir, I disagree. “SUPERNATURAL POWERS sitting in the HEAVEN up there remain neutral on this cleansing”, as you write, is not the fact. The powers, which you have mentioned, are not neutral; they move to any of the two sides. There’s no scope to remain neutral as there’s no equilibrium; and their move favors the mazloom, the tortured, the tormented. They move slowly, very slowly, but grinds finely. The original saying is in The Bible. I understand your pain, sir.
Thanks Mr. K P Sasi, for you fine poem although I disagree on the following points:
“One of the main mistakes of my life
Was that I was born.”
It’s not a mistake; rather, one of the best incidents for us all as we have a good person among us. The person loves the people. The person feels for the people, for the great majority. The person spends his labor for the people, many and many are unknown to him. The person is distorted, is manipulated.

This reminds the great lyric of Sahir in ‘ phir subah hogi’
‘Aasman peh hai khuda aur zameen peh hum
Aaj kal woh is taraf dekhta hai kum ‘
Exactly: Pheer soobah hogee, dawn shall come up.
