You, yes you!

delhi violence 1

He’s not my leader
the one who is too busy
for the people who are dying
on the streets, he’s just a bad fox
who eats on the dead and lurks in dark
to escape to his friends who are murderers!

You, yes you!

I am fed up of you
how you lie, how you kill
and then groan in fake pain,
the air is thick of hate, it has lust
for power, to hunt down the unarmed,
I’m all filled with rage, what I see is misery!

You, yes you!

Shops are burnt
for it is not of a Hindu,
the saffron flag is held high
its bottom has bodies of people,
while the cloth has our blood as pride,
it is your hypocrisy to speak of history now

You, yes you!

I am a Zulfiqar
born in Puraani Delhi
I learnt Urdu from the Fakirs
my Quran has everything of mine
you can’t see, but on darkest nights
when I am to die, I’ve no one except belief!

You, yes you!

You’ll burn me
that I’m sure about,
I’ve written this yesterday
in the corners of Shaheen Bagh
about how I’ve planted those plants
you eat as your meal, give them my death!

You, yes you!

I’m your enemy
not because I fight
but because I exist here
in this nation I’ve my home in,
I belong among those you declare
everyday in the ‘we the people’ periphery!

You, yes you!

I am not Hindu
I am not a Moslem
I don’t obey any Christ
I don’t change to Digambara,
I just sit beneath a tree to observe
how you build hate, I know it will perish!

You, yes you!

I don’t believe
in anything you say
or your acts are hollow,
they are well built of illusions,
your dogs bark on everything we do,
they’re no more pillars of my democracy!

You, yes you!

Come kill me
try to stop our fight,
it will rise proportinately,
even in those darkest nights
when you deploy your goons on us,
I’ll have my nation drawn in this protest!
