In recent weeks the Jharkand Jan Sangharsh Morcha, waged a sustained campaign against the arrest of journalists like Rupesh Singh, Socialist activists and Shamru Khadia. It is also valiantly confronting the burning issues of the day to day lives of people, like corruption ,unemployment etc.
Mazdoor Sanghatna Samiti convenor Baccha Singh is the convenor of The Jharkhand Sangharsh Morcha ,playing a major role in integrating the workers into the broader frame of the anti-fascist movement. In the last five years the Mazdoor Sanghatana Samiti has relentlessly confronted the tentacles of state repression, getting a ban on it revoked .It raised the banner against the contract system, black laws, arresting and assassination of activists raising voice of dissent. It is progressive that it established a link of the workers issues with those of the adivasis , farmers and youth. The Jharkahnd Sangharsh Morcha has expanded the base of the movement, intensifying co-ordination of workers with Adivasis, and farmers,
In Rajbhavan in Ranchi on August 19th one day convention was staged with around 50 persons .It discussed the fascist nature of the arrests of Rupesh Kumar Singh and Socialist activists and the manner corporate grabbed land. It raised demands fo release of all Adivasis languishing in jails, on fabricated charges and revoking of laws like UAPA.Rajpal of Jharkahnd convened the meet. Positive that people were mobilised from various parts of the state.
The Jharkhand Sangharsh Morcha staged a dharna in Dhanbad district on August 22nd at Randhir Verma Chowk.Around 30 activists gathered.
The following demands were raised
- A separate committee be formed which investigates the circumstances of the charges and the manner the arrest were executed.
- Stop corporate plundering of land of Adivasis.
- Scrapping of all fascist laws like UAPA
4.Providing bail for all prisoners framed in Jails of Jharkand and grant permission for cases to be to be taken to the high court. .Demanding conditions promised to political prisoners. To redress the report of Jan Adhikar Sabha of Goliya district of Bokarao.
- Hold CEO Prabhav Ambisht and SDO Ranjit Dheora responsible for framing innocent people.
6..Release of activists Rupesh Kumar Singh, Bhagwan Das Kisku , Samru Khadiya ,and removing of false charges.Re-instate Professor Rajni Murmu in Siddhu Kanu college
In Giridh Zilla on August 25th in Ambedkar chowk a daylong dharna was staged pleading for release of Rupesh Kumar,BhagwanDas Kisku and Socialist activists. It also demanded lifting of the UAPA and condemned the grabbing of land from Adivasis by Savita Mahato of Saraykela Karsava jilla of Dobo village. Around 50 persons participated.
On 2nd September a condolence meeting was held for the death of the wife of Mazdoor Sanghatan Samiti leader Shahzad Ansari at the age of 70,who was ailing in Dhanbad hospital for a prolonged period..Activists were present from Dhanbad Giridh,and Bokaro to pay homage. A very impressive participation by the Muslim community, which was notable.
On 5th September, the Jharkhand Jan Sangharsh Morcha staged its sammelan in Giridh. Participation of around 50 persons.Agricultural labourers, students-youth ,farmers women,dalit-Aivasis vowed to confront the state repression, atrocities on women, and intensifying unemployment, price rise and corruption, at the convention planned on 12th September at Azidi Vivah Bhavan from10 am.. Professor Rajni Murmu ,Baccha Singh and Damodar Turi presided the meeting.
