Commemorating the 1st anniversary of the Lakhimpur Kheri massacre on October 3rd , farmers organizations which were constituents of the Samyukt Kisan Morcha congregated at Rajendra Pratap Singh Park in Azamgadh.
At 11 a.m they planted the banner of the Samyukt Morcha .At first the police closed the gates of the park, to block the demonstration. However frightened with witnessing the might of the agitators the police bowed down to the protestors and granted permission. For half an hour slogans were vociferously raised .Demands were presented for offering justice to the 4 farmers assassinated by Ajay Mishra.Demands were issued through Sudhir Kumar to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to award 10 lakh rupees compensation and punishment to the culprits. The farmer’s leaders remarked that inspite of committing a crime Ajay Mishra remains as a central member of parliament. At the conclusion the farmer leaders burnt effigies of Ajay Mishra Triveni,.They illustrated how in every sphere the administrator undertook no action that was promised.
In memorandum demands were placed demanding release on bail of all activists through provision 304, framed under 302 IPC. It stated that inspite of an FIR lodged of of 219/21 Ajay Mishra was let scot free. On 25th September he violated democratic rights by making farmers gathering disperse; forcibly .A compensation amount of 45 lakhs was demanded as compensation to the families of 5victims and 10 lakhs to those who met fatal injuries.
Prominent leaders participating were Kayam Singh Dharmendra Singh, Jagdish Yadav,, Gaurav Tivatia , Kamlesh Yadav, Vinod Singh, Satveer Chawdhury etc, Participating organisations were Bharatiya Kisan Union,Kisan Sabha and Krantikari KIsan Union.
