In 2022 Melbourne University (MU), formerly Australia’s top university, succumbed to racist Zionist subversion by falsely defaming anti-racist Jewish and non-Jewish staff and students as anti-Semitic for criticism of Israeli Apartheid. MU has now adopted the false, racist and defamatory International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) Definition of anti-Semitism that is anti-Jewish anti-Semitic, anti-Arab anti-Semitic, and near-comprehensively genocide-ignoring and holocaust-ignoring.
Not content with merely falsely defaming anti-racist students and staff as “anti-Semites” for criticizing Israeli Apartheid crimes [1], the Melbourne University Management (MUM) administers a Code of Conduct that now implicitly includes the false, racist, defamatory, anti-Semitic and holocaust-ignoring IHRA Definition of anti-Semitism [2, 3]. The MUM thus threatens the free speech of academics and students at MU. Because MU has been regarded as the top Australian university this attack by MUM on the core academic ethos of Kindness, Truth and free speech also constitutes a grave attack on the reputation of all 43 Australian Universities and indeed of Australia. MUM is a relevant acronym because MU students and staff are now being threatened into lying by omission i.e. into ”keeping mum” over the repugnant crime of Israeli Apartheid. Indeed this academic perversion has occurred because of a culture of silence over Israeli war crimes in the Zionist-subverted West, including US lackey Australia.
This appalling situation was a predictable consequence of the eroding of academic decencies in Australia over the last few decades with the drift of Australian universities into being corporate, money-making entities “managed” by Management Academics that were described by my father Dr John Bela Polya (a Jewish refugee from Nazism and staunch defender of academic freedom [4, 5]) as “refugees from scholarship”. 2 decades ago the thoroughly decent and ethical vice chancellor Professor John Scott commented thus on Australian universities: “’The prime roles of a university are threefold: to teach, to conduct research and to provide service, including constructive criticism, to the community. The teaching role has been severely threatened. Fundamental research is now difficult to conduct. Critical comments by university staff have been censored. It is time that governments recognised that universities are not just an expensive luxury, but a highly important part of our national activity” [6].
Notwithstanding further detailed and expert critiques of Australian universities [7-15], since then things have got steadily worse. A disturbing development has been increasing military research involving nuclear terrorist Apartheid Israel and Australian universities, including MU, noting that Apartheid Israel is a major exporter of high technology weapons, Apartheid Israeli weapons are “pre-tested” on Palestinians, Arabs and Muslims, Australian universities have cravenly submitted to militarism-related censorship, and that MU collaborates with Lockheed Martin, a major arms supplier to genocidal and serial war criminal Apartheid Israel and America [16-21]. Crucially, while every country needs a large complement of science, technology, media and scholarly experts for a variety of economic, health, defense, cultural, and prestige reasons, why should impoverished students have to pay for it? The Awful Truth, strenuously hidden from the Australian public and university students, is that lecture-based courses can be delivered on-line and learnings properly subject to accrediting assessment for negligible cost. Indeed on-line learning was necessary during the COVID-19 Pandemic although domestic and overseas students were corruptly charged exorbitant fees all the same. All education from pre-school to life-long learning can and should be free [21]. While my father and his colleagues staunchly defended 1 dismissed philosophy professor (Professor Sydney Sparkes Orr) until his death [4, 5], during the COVID-19 Pandemic the incompetent, corrupt, war mongering, anti-intellectual, anti-science, human rights –violating , pro-Apartheid and anti-environment Australian Coalition Government sacked 40,000 university staff [22].
As exampled by the IHRA Definition, mendacious Zionists absurdly respond to any criticism of the genocidal racism and settler-colonialism of Zionism and of Apartheid Israel with the cry “antisemitism” with the additional absurd canards of “self-hating Jew” or “self-loathing Jew” applied if the criticisms are made by anti-racist Jews. At this point in a probably vain attempt to evade routine false Zionist defamation, I must declare that I am an anti-racist Ashkenazi Jewish Hungarian Australian scientist, writer, artist and secular Humanist committed to peace, non-violence, the equality of all people, Kindness, Truth, and with a sole allegiance to Australia, the land of my birth. I come from one of Hungary’s most famous Jewish families (ask any surgeon or mathematician). However I have been subjected to remorseless and false defamation by Zionists for a decade that has rendered me invisible in Australia despite (and indeed because of) writing hundreds of science-informed humanitarian articles and publishing 9 huge books. Set out below is my take on the pro-Apartheid Israel and hence pro-Apartheid MU adoption of the false, anti-Semitic and holocaust-ignoring IHRA Definition of anti-Semitism.
(A). General observations on racism versus Kindness, Truth, science and academic freedom of speech.
The fundamental ethos of decent human beings is commitment to Kindness and Truth. However racism and bigotry violate this ethos. Racism and bigotry are repugnant because we have no say in to whom we were born and by whom we were raised. There is a spectrum of racism and bigotry manifestations, ranging from unconscious bias and the involuntary sneer to verbal violence and physical violence. War is the penultimate expression of racism and bigotry but genocide is the ultimate expression of these vile perversions.
Within the ideal of decent and orderly societies subject to the rule of law, arbitrary discrimination through racism and bigotry is forbidden by law, as are racism- and bigotry-based violence and incitement to violence. However no society is perfect and a “grey area” exists in which “freedom of expression” that is crucial for a democratic polity is in conflict with a perceived “right” not to be offended by the opinions of others.
The acutely relevant parts of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights are as follows: Article 1, “All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood ”; Article 18, “Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance”; and Article 19, “Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers” [23].
However there is no mention of a “right” not to be offended by the opinions of others, although Article 1 says that humans “are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood”. Implicit in Article 1 are the core moral imperatives of Kindness and Truth (the moral reduction to “Kindness and Truth” is to Ethics what E=mc2 is to Physics). However there are many instances in which true Kindness involves telling unpleasant Truths, and indeed many instances in which the necessary telling of Truth is accomplished with thoughtful regard made to Kindness in the telling.
The core academic ethos is commitment to Truth (and to Kindness in conveying consequent understandings to students, colleagues and the public). Lying is repugnant and comes in 2 forms, lying by omission and lying by commission. Lying by omission is far, far worse than repugnant lying by commission because the latter at least permits public refutation and public discussion (subject, of course, to societal censorship that is a form of lying by omission). Lying and censorship are anathema to scholars because they short-circuit the scientific process that successively involves (a) accurate information, (b) the critical testing of potentially falsifiable hypotheses, and (c) acquisition and dissemination of ever-improving models of reality.
Lying, censorship, constraints on free expression, and limiting effective free speech are thus all inimical to scholarship, and also inimical to democracy because it ideally requires a properly informed population. However, the prevalence of political lying and asserted “fake news” in media of all kinds, has led to calls for censorship and punishment for alleged untruth, these calls notably coming from demonstrably mendacious Mainstream media. Indeed for many decades repugnant denial of the WW2 Jewish Holocaust has been punished by lengthy imprisonment in some Western European countries. However free speech is crucial for both scholarship and democracy, and indeed is recognized as a fundamental right in the First Amendment of the US Constitution. In my view the only punishment for lying such as repugnant “holocaust denial” should be the ignominy of expertly-informed judicial public exposure of the falsity of the claims.
In academia there is a culture of zero tolerance for blatant lying as in falsification of data and plagiarism. In contrast, in areas such literature, history, religion, philosophy, economics, and political science there are many hotly contested assertions based on different ideological, ethical and cultural premises. Indeed the academy revels in such intellectual disputes as exampled by the so-called “history wars” and “neoliberalism versus social humanism”.
For Melbourne University (MU) to weigh in on such typical academic ideological and moral disputes by adopting the false IHRA Definition of anti-Semitism is a fundamental and spurious attack on academic free speech, the free speech of students and on free speech in general. This attack on the core academic ethos damages MU (formerly Australia’s top university but now relegated to the bottom), all other Australian universities, and Australia. This MU “management” attack on academic free speech, is an assault on the reputation of MU, and the value of all MU degrees past, present and future. Indeed this MU attack on academic free speech, MU staff, and MU students, is made even worse because the IHRA Definition of anti-Semitism is utterly false, defamatory, obnoxious, racist, anti-Jewish anti-Semitic, anti-Arab anti-Semitic, and near- comprehensively holocaust–ignoring and genocide-ignoring.
(B). The IHRA Definition of anti-Semitism is false, defamatory, anti-Jewish anti-Semitic, anti-Arab anti-Semitic, and near- comprehensively holocaust–ignoring and genocide-ignoring.
There is a large body of variously eminent anti-racist Jewish and non-Jewish critics of Israeli apartheid and the Zionist ethnic cleansing of Palestine [24-36]. The IHRA Definition of anti-Semitism [37] is false, racist, obnoxious, anti-Semitic, defamatory of anti-racist Jewish and non-Jewish critics of Israeli apartheid, is near-comprehensively holocaust-ignoring and genocide-ignoring, and has been widely used to subvert and pervert the Western democracies (most notably through the vile and false political destruction of UK Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, the most anti-racist UK political leader ever) [38-40].
(a). The IHRA Definition of anti-Semitism is anti-Jewish anti-Semitic by falsely defaming anti-racist Jewish humanitarians opposed to genocidally racist Zionism [24], Zionist ethnic cleansing, Israeli Apartheid [26], and the ongoing Palestinian Genocide that has been associated with 2.2 million Palestinian deaths from violence (0.1 million) and imposed deprivation (2.1 million) since the British invasion of the Middle East in 1914 for oil and imperial hegemony [30].
(b). The IHRA Definition is anti-Arab anti-Semitic by falsely defaming anti-racist Palestinians, Arabs and Muslims opposed to Israeli Apartheid and the ongoing Palestinian Genocide.
(c). The IHRA Definition is near-comprehensively holocaust denying by ignoring all WW2 holocausts other than the WW2 Jewish Holocaust (5-6 million Jews killed by Nazi Germany and its allies through violence and deprivation) [41, 42], namely (people killed by violence and deprivation in brackets) the WW2 European Holocaust (30 million Slavs, Jews and Roma killed), the WW2 Chinese Holocaust (35-40 million Chinese killed under the Japanese, 1937-1945), the WW2 Bengali Holocaust (WW2 Indian Holocaust, WW2 Bengal Famine; 6-7 million Indians deliberately starved to death for strategic reasons by the British with food-denying Australian complicity), and the Polish Holocaust (6 million Poles killed by Nazi Germany). Indeed the IHRA Definition ignores about 70 other genocide and holocaust atrocities including 30 involving Australia) [44-56], this making the IHRA the most egregious holocaust-ignoring organization in the world. Not surprisingly the IHRA has been condemned by scholars around the world and by over 40 anti-racist Jewish organizations [39, 40].
One notes that “holocaust” implies a huge number of deaths. Indeed the 1942-1945 Bengali Holocaust was the first WW2 atrocity have been described as a “holocaust” in a book (1944) [55]. “Genocide” is defined by Article 2 of the UN Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Genocide thus: “In the present Convention, genocide means any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial or religious group, as such: a) Killing members of the group; b) Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; c) Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part; d) Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group; e) Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group” [57]
The acronym used here for Melbourne University Management, MUM, is quite appropriate – the MUM backs the racist and mendacious IHRA that ignores all holocausts and genocides other than the WW2 Jewish Holocaust. Accordingly MUM is “keeping mum” about Western atrocities, Zionist atrocities, Zionist falsehoods and Zionist smearing of MU students (the smartest in the country), of anti-racist Australian students in general, and of anti-racist Jews and non-Jewish humanitarian critical of the genocidal crimes of Apartheid Israel including large-scale continuing ethnic cleansing and the ongoing Palestinian Genocide.
(d). The IHRA Definition of Anti-Semitism lists 11 false examples of asserted anti-Semitism [37, 58]. However this catalogue of falsely alleged “anti-Semitism” is a consistently flawed, dishonest, deceptive and indeed racist document because:
(i). it is dishonestly exceptionalist in offensively singling out racism against Jews, ignoring the huge continuing problem of racism against other peoples and other religions, including such racism practised by many Jews (notably most Jewish Israelis and their supporters);
(ii). it falsely smears a huge body of decent, anti-racist Jews and non-Jews (notably anti-racist South Africans, Palestinians, Arabs and Muslims) critical of the crimes of genocidally racist Zionists and their racist supporters in Apartheid Israel and elsewhere;
(iii). it contemptibly weaponizes and perverts the legitimate and indeed profoundly necessary remembrance of the WW2 Jewish Holocaust, and legitimate concerns about past and present anti-Jewish anti-Semitism, to attack anti-racists opposed to all racism, including that of genocidally racist Zionism and its supporters;
(iv). using historicist and semantic trickery it claims that “antisemitism” is only directed against Jews, and it ignores the genocidal anti-Arab anti-Semitism directed against the variously ethnically and/or culturally Semitic Palestinians, Arabs and Muslims by Zionists and the Zionist-subverted and perverted West. Anti-Semitism or antisemitism exists in 2 equally repugnant forms, anti-Jewish anti-Semitism directed against 18 million largely culturally Semitic Jews, and anti-Arab anti-Semitism directed against 300 million ethnically and culturally Semitic Arabs and 2,000 million largely culturally Semitic Muslims e.g. anti-racist Jewish American scholar Professor Bertell Ollman: “An all out struggle against Zionism by Jews, therefore, is also the most effective way to fight against real anti-Semitism. Furthermore, if Zionism is indeed a particularly virulent form of nationalism and, increasingly, of racism and if Israel is acting toward its captive minority in ways that resemble more and more how the Nazis treated their Jews, then we must also say so. For obvious reasons, the Zionists are very sensitive about being compared to the Nazis (not so sensitive that it has restrained them in their actions but enough to bellow “unfair” and to charge “anti-Semitism” when it happens). Yet, the facts on the ground, when not obscured by one or another Zionist rationalization, show that the Zionists are the worst anti-Semites in the world today, oppressing a Semitic people as no nation has done since the Nazis” [24]);
(v). it ignores a huge body of eminent anti-racist Jewish and non-Jewish humanitarians critical of racist Zionism and Israeli Apartheid;
(vi). it dishonestly smears or defames anti-racist Jewish and non-Jewish critics of genocidal Zionism by half-truths and outright lies; and
(vii). it uses anti-science spin and makes no qualitative distinction between allegedly “antisemitic” words and violent antisemitic deeds – anti-racist Jews are not only falsely defamed as antisemites for their humane opinions but are also grossly smeared by being put in the same “antisemitic” racism category as Nazi mass murderers.
(C). The IHRA lies and deceives egregiously in its “Contemporary examples of antisemitism”.
To succinctly deal with this huge body of Zionist falsehood I have added comments to the text below of the IHRA’s 11 “Contemporary examples of antisemitism” [37, 58]:
Quote: “Contemporary examples of antisemitism in public life, the media, schools, the workplace, and in the religious sphere could, taking into account the overall context, include, but are not limited to:
Item (1). Calling for, aiding, or justifying the killing or harming of Jews in the name of a radical ideology or an extremist view of religion.
Comment: Obviously killing anyone is bad. I personally fervently support the Gandhian principle of non-violence. Violence begets violence. I endlessly repeat the mantra: “Peace is the only way but silence kills and silence is complicity”. That said, the Preamble of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights recognizes the right of self-defence as the last resort of egregiously violated subjugated people (e.g. the Occupied Palestinians): “Whereas it is essential, if man is not to be compelled to have recourse, as a last resort, to rebellion against tyranny and oppression, that human rights should be protected by the rule of law” [23]. The racist and bigoted IHRA presumably means to imply “national liberation from colonization ” by “radical ideology” and “Islam” by “extremist view of religion”.
Item (2). Making mendacious, dehumanizing, demonizing, or stereotypical allegations about Jews as such or the power of Jews as collective — such as, especially but not exclusively, the myth about a world Jewish conspiracy or of Jews controlling the media, economy, government or other societal institutions.
Comment: Obviously maliciously singling out and making undeserved pejorative remarks about any race- or religion-defined person or collective is wrong. However it is quite proper for sensible and humane people to carefully point out disproportionate influence of certain groups in a democracy, especially in the context of increasing and deadly wealth inequity within democracies and throughout the world as a whole – indeed it would be lying by omission not to do so. Thus the ongoing Global Avoidable Mortality Holocaust is presently associated with 7.4 million avoidable deaths from deprivation each year [44]. Oxfam: “Since 2020, the richest 1% have captured almost two-thirds of all new wealth – nearly twice as much money as the bottom 99% of the world’s population… A tax of up to 5% on the world’s multi-millionaires and billionaires could raise $1.7 trillion a year, enough to lift 2 billion people out of poverty, and fund a global plan to end hunger… The top 1% have gained 74 times more wealth than the bottom 50% in the last 10 years… The richest 1% hold 45.6% of global wealth, while the poorest half of the world have just 0.75%.” [59]. Thomas Piketty has proposed annual wealth taxes as a remedy [60, 61], noting that Islam has had such an annual wealth tax of 2.5% for 1,400 years [62].
Through hard work and a culture of learning and advancement Jews are disproportionately successful in the West, and that in turn means having disproportionate influence (wealth means power in the Western democracies that have become Corporatocracies and Lobbyocracies in which Big Money buys votes and hence more power and personal wealth). Many examples can be given. Thus Jews make up 14.5% of the Australian Financial Review’s 2018 Rich List while representing only 0.5% of the Australian population [63]. Indeed the Jewish Business News proudly reported that 5 Jews lead the top 200 richest Australians for 2014 [64], and that Jews make up 19% of the Forbes 200 World’s richest list while representing only 0.2% of the global population [65]. As far as I am aware, none of these hugely wealthy Jews have used their vast wealth to condemn Israeli Apartheid and the ongoing Palestinian Genocide. While numerous anti-racist Jewish intellectuals are resolutely critical of deadly inequality, Israeli Apartheid and the ongoing Palestinian Genocide, Western Mainstream media support and white-wash Zionist crimes. A part explanation for this huge moral discrepancy is that the American 60% of the world’s 30 biggest media companies have a disproportionately high Jewish Board membership. Jews and females represent 2% and 51%, respectively, of the US population but average 33% and 19%, respectively, of Board members of the top 18 US media companies [66]. The US became increasingly Zionist-dominated since Israeli acquisition of nuclear weapons by the middle 1960s, and presently one third of President Joe Biden’s Cabinet are Jewish Zionists, and the remainder are fervent Christian Zionists, noting that Jews are only 2% of the US population [67].
Conversely, anti-racist Jewish humanitarians – the very best of Jews – have been and still are disproportionately involved in activism for human rights, civil rights and social humanism (socialism). Indeed anti-racist Jews are disproportionately involved in activism for Palestinians human rights [24, 25]. Anti-racist Jewish American writer Philip Weiss (2022): “Fully a quarter of all Jews say that Israel is an apartheid state, but the number goes up to 38 percent of those under 40” [68]. Indeed in response to the race-based fake election of the new fascist Israeli Government, Philip Weiss has declared “The American Jewish war over Zionism can begin… Finally American Jews will see what Zionism has done to us, corrupted almost every Jewish institution with racism, turned Jewish leaders into apologists for persecution and massacres. “You must explain to me how the most accomplished most highly educated most liberal group in America has embraced apartheid,” John Mearsheimer said to me years ago” [69]. John Mearsheimer (Professor of Political Science at the University of Chicago) and Stephen Walt (Professor of International Relations at Harvard Kennedy School at Harvard University) co-authored “The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy” that addresses the Zionist subversion of America for Apartheid Israel [70]. Mainstream Australia is a craven lackey of the US and is accordingly slavishly pro-Apartheid Israel, and hence pro-Apartheid. The major Australian parties, the right-extreme right Coalition and the centre-right Labor, consequently support the IHRA, blindly taking the advice of genocidally racist and traitorous Zionists rather than that of eminent anti-racist Jews (the very best of Jews) with a sole allegiance to Australia such as Sir Isaac Isaacs (MU graduate, a fervent anti-Zionist and the first Australian-born governor-general of Australia) and Professor Peter Singer (MU graduate, critic of Apartheid Israeli racism, and world-famous philosopher and ethicist) [24]. The wicked MU Management (MUM) decision is in accordance with the US lackey Australian Mainstream but has the utterly appalling effect of casting doubt on the moral decency of all MU graduates, past, present and future.
Item (3). Accusing Jews as a people of being responsible for real or imagined wrongdoing committed by a single Jewish person or group, or even for acts committed by non-Jews.
Comment: World famous philosopher, MU alumnus, and anti-racist Jewish Australian, Professor Peter Singer, declared (2000): “We are responsible not just for what we do but also for what we do not do” [71]. Professor Peter Singer further states: “We are responsible not only for what we do but also for what we could have prevented…We should consider the consequences of what we do and what we decide not to do” [71]. Decent anti-racist Jews speak out over crimes committed by Jews, compelled by the core moral messages from the WW2 Jewish Holocaust and indeed all holocaust and genocide atrocities, specifically “zero tolerance for racism”, “zero tolerance for lying”, “bear witness” and “never again to anyone” (this including Indigenous Palestinians subject to an ongoing Palestinian Genocide by Apartheid Israel [30] and Indigenous Australian subject to the ongoing Aboriginal Genocide by pro-Apartheid Israel and hence pro-Apartheid Australia [51, 72]. Unexceptional common usage includes saying that “the Germans invaded Poland” without specifying that dissident Germans necessarily secretly opposed this, and that the Germans in concentration camps were obviously not involved. Similarly, distraught Palestinian women will cry “The Jews destroyed my house” and “The Jews killed my child” without carefully enumerating the anti-racist Jewish exceptions. Unfortunately, presently most Jews fervently support Apartheid Israel and its appalling genocidal crimes. Thus only 25% of US Jews condemn Israeli Apartheid but an increasing proportion of young Jews (38% of under 40s in America) condemn Israeli crimes [68, 69]). Similarly, it is likely that a majority of US Jews support the US War on Terror or US War on Muslims by pro-Zionist America that has killed about 32 million Muslims through violence (5 million) and imposed deprivation (27 million) since the US Government’s false flag 9/11 atrocity that killed 3,000 people [46, 47].
The all-European and overwhelmingly US-allied IHRA essentially and falsely regards exposure of Zionist crimes as “anti-Semitism” whereas decent, anti-racist folk regard denial of such atrocities as a violation of the core human ethos of Kindness and Truth. This slimy, disingenuous and false IHRA assertion of “anti-Semitism” requires a brief summary of ongoing war criminal and genocidal Zionist crimes and American crimes (“wrongdoing”) that most US Jews support but which a very substantial and growing number of anti-racist American Jews fervently oppose.
Zionist crimes: The WW1 onwards Palestinian Genocide has been associated with 2.2 million Palestinian deaths from violence, 0.1 million, and imposed deprivation, 2.1 million, and 2 mass expulsion events, the 1948 Nakba or Catastrophe (800,000 Palestinians or 55% of the population expelled, 15,000 killed, 530 villages emptied, and 120 mosques eventually destroyed), and the 1967 Naksa or Setback (400,000 Arabs expelled from the West Bank and the Syrian Golan Heights). Today of 15.5 million mostly impoverished Indigenous Palestinians, 8 million are Exiled Palestinians (mostly in refugee camps and excluded from the land continuously inhabited by their forebears for millennia), 5.5 million Occupied Palestinians highly abusively confined without human rights under the violent Israeli military to ever-dwindling West Bank ghettoes (3.3 million) and the blockaded and bombed Gaza Concentration Camp (2.2 million), and 2.0 million Israeli Palestinians (unlike the Occupied Palestinians able to vote for the government ruling them albeit as Third Class citizens under 65 Nazi-style race-based laws). Poverty and Apartheid are deadly, and the GDP per capita differential ($3,500 for Occupied Palestinians versus $55,400 for Israelis) is associated with a life expectancy gap of 10 years. Each year about 4,000 Occupied Palestinians die avoidably from imposed deprivation, and over the last 2 decades an average of 550 Occupied Palestinians have been violently killed each year by Israelis. In the last 2 decades about 10,000 Occupied Palestinians have been violently killed and about 90,000 have died from imposed deprivation [35]. On an Occupied Palestinian per capita basis, Apartheid Israel leads the world in killing journalists [73], and is among world leaders in killing children [74]. Leading writers, scholars, political leaders and human rights groups condemn the Apartheid imposed on Palestine by the Zionists [24-26]. Over 90%of Palestine has now been ethnically cleansed of Indigenous Palestinian inhabitants, and Zionist leaders from genocidally racist psychopath and Zionism founder, Theodor Herzl, to serial war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu have explicitly advocated ethnic cleansing of the Indigenous Palestinians [75].
American crimes: Apart from inevitable border spats, most countries in the world have not invaded other countries. Costa Rica does not even have an army. In stark contrast, the US has invaded 72 countries (52 since WW2), has committed 469 invasions from 1798 onwards, committed 251 invasions since 1991, and has 800 military bases in over 70 countries. The US actively spies on and subverts all countries. Global avoidable deaths from deprivation totalled about 1,500 million in the post-1950 era with a major contributor to this carnage being about 1,000 million under-5 infant deaths. In 2020 (pre-COVID-19 data) 7.4 million people died avoidably from deprivation on Spaceship Earth (5.3 million under-5 infant deaths) with America largely in charge of the flight deck and hence disproportionately responsible for this ongoing Global Avoidable Mortality Holocaust [76]. 1950-2005 avoidable deaths from deprivation total 82 million in countries occupied by the US in the post-WW2 era [44]. Post-1950 US Asian wars have been associated with 40 million Asian deaths from violence and war-imposed deprivation [44]. In 2015 it was estimated that 32 million Muslims died from violence, 5 million, and imposed deprivation, 27 million, in 20 countries invaded by the US Alliance since the US Government’s 9/11 false flag atrocity that killed 3,000 innocent people [46, 47]. The worst atrocities in this Global Holocaust imposed by Zionist-subverted America include (deaths from violence and imposed deprivation in brackets) the 2001 onwards Afghan Holocaust and Afghan Genocide (7 million), 1950 onwards US-imposed Asian Holocaust (40 million), 1960 onwards Congo Genocide and Congo Holocaust (20 million), 1990-2011 Iraqi Genocide and Iraqi Holocaust (4.7 million), 1950-1953, Korean Genocide and Korean Holocaust (5.2 million), 2000 onwards Muslim Genocide and Muslim Holocaust (32 million), 1992 onwards Somali Genocide and Somali Holocaust (2.2 million), and the 1945-1975 Vietnamese Genocide and Vietnamese Holocaust (15 million) [48, 53, 54].
Item 4. Denying the fact, scope, mechanisms (e.g. gas chambers) or intentionality of the genocide of the Jewish people at the hands of National Socialist Germany and its supporters and accomplices during World War II (the Holocaust).
Comment: Any genocide-ignoring, holocaust-ignoring, genocide denial or holocaust denial is repugnant. However as set out in Section B(c) above, the IHRA ignores all WW2 holocausts and genocides other than the WW2 Jewish Holocaust, and indeed ignores some 70 genocides and holocausts. Genocide-ignoring and holocaust-ignoring such as that by the IHRA are far, far worse than genocide denial and holocaust denial because repugnant denial can at least permit public refutation and public debate. The WW2 Bengali Holocaust (6-7 million Indians deliberately starved to death in Bengal, Bihar, Odisha and Assam by the British for strategic reasons and with food-denying Australian complicity) [48-50] was indeed the first WW2 atrocity to have been described as a “holocaust” (by N.G. Jog in “Churchill’s Blind-Spot: India” in 1944) [77]. For genocidally racist Zionists and their supporters to refer to the WW2 Jewish Holocaust as “The Holocaust” is a holocaust-denying lie and of great offence to the memory of millions of Polish, Soviet, Russian, Ukrainian, Chinese, Indian, and Roma civilians, civilians of other ethnicities, and indeed Jewish civilians variously subject to mass murder by the combatants, and grossly violates the core human ethos of Kindness and Truth.
Item (5). Accusing the Jews as a people, or Israel as a state, of inventing or exaggerating the Holocaust.
Comment: Unfortunately most Jews (75% in the Zionist-subverted and perverted US) [68, 69] still support Zionism and Apartheid Israel, although a large and growing cohort of anti-racist Jews (especially young Jews) and anti-racist orthodox Jews reject Israeli Apartheid [24]. Jewish and Christian Zionists, and the pro-Zionist, pro-Apartheid Israel and pro-Apartheid IHRA itself have soiled the memory and messages of the WW2 Jewish Holocaust by ignoring all other WW2 holocausts and indeed 70 genocide and holocaust atrocities (see Section B(c) above) , and by evilly weaponizing the WW2 Jewish Holocaust in support of nuclear terrorist, racist Zionist-run, genocidally racist, serial war criminal, grossly human rights-violating, child-abusing, mother-abusing, women-abusing, and democracy-by-genocide Apartheid Israel.
Item (6). Accusing Jewish citizens of being more loyal to Israel, or to the alleged priorities of Jews worldwide, than to the interests of their own nations.
Comment: Zionism is not Judaism, indeed Orthodox Judaism in Europe was firmly opposed to Zionism for theological and humanitarian reasons. Zionism cannot be conflated with anti-racist Jews and thus cannot be conflated with all Jews. Indeed false conflation of Zionism and Apartheid Israel with all Jews, this including anti-racist Jews, is egregiously false and repugnant anti-Jewish anti-.Semitism. Zionist Jews are manifestly genocidally racist and fervent supporters of Apartheid Israel, and thus are manifestly against the humane interests of their own nations. I am an anti-racist Jewish Australian with a sole national allegiance to Australia, the land of my birth. I detest racist Zionists for their fervent support for Apartheid Israeli crimes, and the consequent immense harm they do to their own countries, and notably to anti-racist Jewish citizens of these countries. Indeed anti-racist Jewish Australian, eminent MU alumnus, and first Australian-born governor general of Australia, Sir Isaac Isaacs: “The honour of Jews throughout the world demands the renunciation of political Zionism” and “the Zionist movement as a whole… now places its own unwarranted interpretation on the Balfour Declaration, and makes demands that are arousing the antagonism of the Moslem world of nearly 400 millions, thereby menacing the safety of our Empire, endangering world peace and imperilling some of the most sacred associations of the Jewish, Christian, and Moslem faiths. Besides their inherent injustice to others these demands would, I believe, seriously and detrimentally affect the general position of Jews throughout the world” [24].
In similar vein, Sir Edwin Montagu (anti-racist British Jew and the second British Jew to enter the British Cabinet): “[Zionism is]a mischievous political creed, untenable by any patriotic citizen of the United Kingdom”, and in opposing the Balfour Declaration of 1917 he was probably responsible for inserting the provision in the Balfour Declaration that said: “Nothing shall be done that may prejudice the civil and religious rights of the existing non-Jewish communities in Palestine or the rights and political status enjoyed by Jews in any other country”. Sir Edwin Montagu: “I assume that it [the Balfour Declaration] means that Mahommedans [Muslims] and Christians are to make way for the Jews and that the Jews should be put in all positions of preference… When the Jews are told that Palestine is their national home, every country will immediately desire to get rid of its Jewish citizens, and you will find a [Zionist] population in Palestine driving out its present inhabitants, taking all the best in the country” [24]. Indeed outstanding anti-racist Jewish American scholar Professor Jared Diamond in his best-selling book “Collapse” (Prologue, p10, Penguin edition) [24, 78] enunciated the “moral principle, namely that it is morally wrong for one people to dispossess, subjugate, or exterminate another people” [78] – an injunction grossly violated by racist Zionist-run Apartheid Israel and its racist, genocide-committing and genocide-ignoring US Alliance backers. Anti-racist UK writer Alan Hart in his book “Zionism: the Real Enemy of the Jews. Volume 1. The False Messiah”: “Racist Zionism represents an immense threat not just to the Arab and Muslim World but also to decent, anti-racist, humanitarian Jews throughout the World” [24, 79]
American and British Zionists supported America and Britain against Germany in the tragedy of WW1. Indeed eminent Zionist historian of WW1, WW2, Churchill, the WW2 Jewish Holocaust and Jewish history in general, Professor Sir Martin Gilbert, concluded that the Balfour Declaration that gave Palestine to the Zionists was actually intended as an inducement for Russian Zionists to try to keep Russia in WW1 against the Germans [43]. These Zionist machinations no doubt contributed to post-WW1 German anti-Jewish Semitism and the horrendous tragedy of WW2. Length considerations permit only an extremely brief sketch of this evil and traitorous perversion in the white Anglosphere countries:
(i). UK: In the UK traitorous Zionists .politically destroyed the most outstandingly anti-racist Labor leader ever, Jeremy Corbyn, and kept Labor out of power in the interests of genocidally racist Apartheid Israel [38].
(ii). Australia: Due to Zionist subversion Australia has trashed its international reputation in the non-European world by being second only to the US as a supporter of Apartheid Israel and hence the evil crime of Apartheid. Popularly elected Australian Labor PM Kevin Rudd excited salivating Zionist ire when he took relatively mild action in response to Israeli forging of Australian passports for terrorism purposes and the Israeli kidnapping of Australian citizens in international waters. He invited Zionist leaders to Canberra for an expensive conciliatory dinner but to no avail – a month later he was removed in a US-approved, mining corporation-backed and pro-Zionist-led coup [80-85]. Zionists have egregiously subverted and perverted the Labor Government, the Coalition Opposition, the Mainstream media, Australians and Australian institutions [83-86]. Palestinian envoy Ali Kazak: “Forget China, no country has interfered, spied and endangered Australia’s security, sovereignty and the integrity of its national institutions more than Israel and its powerful lobbyists” [86].
(iii). America. Zionist subversion of America became massive after Israeli acquisition of nuclear weapons by the middle 1960s, leading to the present situation in which 32% of Biden’s Cabinet, including the Secretary of State, are Jewish Zionists (Jews represent only 2% of the US population). Racist Zionists backed the US devastation of Afghanistan from 1978 onwards, and with the collapse of Communism backed the US devastation of much of the Muslim world from West Africa to South East Asia from 1990 onwards. Libya, Somalia, Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Sudan, Yemen and Afghanistan have been devastated by Zionist-subverted America. Iran is acutely threatened by nuclear-armed Apartheid Israel and America. The first ever democratically-elected government of Egypt was destroyed, this involving Zionist-beholden America and Apartheid Israel. Ordinary Americans have not escaped deadly Zionist perversion, and have been subject to a Zionist-imposed American Holocaust. There is something peculiarly awful about killing one’s own kind and killing infants of one’s own kind, but that indeed is what Zionist-subverted America is doing. Thus it is estimated that each year 1.7 million Americans die preventably from “lifestyle choice” and “political choice” reasons, the breakdown (2017) including 21,000 preventable under-5 year infant deaths annually. Since 9/11 about 1.7 million per year x 21 years = 36 million Americans have died preventably as defined above, with 0.4 million being preventably dying under-5 year old infants. As of 2020, 3.0 million Americans die each year and thus 57% of these deaths have been untimely, premature and preventable. It has been estimated that successive US Governments have committed $8 trillion to prosecuting genocidal wars this century, killing 32 million Muslims abroad through violence and deprivation rather than trying to save the lives of 36 million Americans at home [76, 87, 88]. Indeed considering avoidable deaths from deprivation and the Value of a Statistical Life for Americans, it is estimated that Apartheid Israel has cost America $40 trillion [89].
Item (7). Denying the Jewish people their right to self-determination, e.g., by claiming that the existence of a State of Israel is a racist endeavour.
Comment: The ethnically and culturally disparate Jewish people have no more right to self-determination than Methodists, Presbyterians, Mormons, Jains or indeed adherents of any of scores of religions. And they certainly have zero right to a state in the ancient land of Palestine at the expense of the human rights of the Indigenous Palestinians whose forebears have continuously inhabited Palestine for over 3 millennia. Indeed the land has been called Palestine (or variants thereof) for 3 millennia after the coastal Philistines. No less than the outstanding humanitarian Gandhi declared (1938): “Palestine belongs to the Arabs in the same sense that England belongs to the English or France to the French. It is wrong and inhuman to impose the Jews on the Arabs. What is going on in Palestine today cannot be justified by any moral code of conduct. The mandates have no sanction but that of the last war. Surely it would be a crime against humanity to reduce the proud Arabs so that Palestine can be restored to the Jews partly or wholly as their national home. The nobler course would be to insist on a just treatment of the Jews wherever they are born and bred” [25]. This IHRA Item slimily and falsely implies that the State of Israel is not a racist endeavour – it is, and indeed is a genocidally racist endeavour. Elements in the new fascist Apartheid Israeli Government are openly calling for further massive expulsions of Palestinians from Palestine. However an alphabetical listing of Zionist opinions reveals that Zionist leaders have been obscenely and explicitly advocating ethnic cleansing of Palestine since the foundation of Continental European Zionism by genocidally racist psychopath Theodor Herzl in the late 19th century [75].
It is important to note that there is no non-Biblical evidence for the Hebrew Exile from Egypt, for the Kingdom of David and Solomon, or the Exile of Jews from Palestine under the Romans. Indeed the cultural and ethnic descendants of the Palestinian Jews at the time of Jesus are today’s sorely oppressed Palestinians whose genocidally racist Jewish Israeli oppressors largely descend from Berber, Yemeni and Khazar converts to Judaism in the first millennium CE [90-95]. Indeed I am walking proof of the sheer untruth of the Zionist assertion that the Eastern European Jews (Ashkenazim) derived from Palestine via Spain, and thence Western Europe – DNA analysis says that I am 57% Ashkenazi Jewish and 24% British Celtic with zero English, Western European, Middle Eastern or Palestinian contribution, this being in agreement with about 3 centuries of recorded family history.
Item (8). Applying double standards by requiring of it a behaviour not expected or demanded of any other democratic nation.
Comment: Apartheid Israel is not a democratic nation – it is a genocidally racist, anti-Arab anti-Semitic, anti-democratic, neo-Nazi, fascist, genocide-based settler colonialist theocracy and Apartheid rogue state. Despite a century-long Palestinian Genocide involving violent killing, huge avoidable deaths from imposed deprivation and 2 massive Indigenous population expulsions, Indigenous Palestinians today represent 50% of the Subjects of Apartheid Israel and the Jewish Israelis only 47%. Yet the 5.5 million Occupied Palestinians – 73% of the 7.5 million Indigenous Palestinian Subjects of Apartheid Israel – are excluded from voting for the government ruling them i.e. they are subject to egregious Apartheid as recognized by scholars, writers, anti-racist leaders (notably Jewish and non-Jewish heroes in the fight against South African Apartheid), and human rights groups around the world [26].
Apartheid Israel is peculiarly exceptionalist in that it continually and grossly violates or outright rejects so many international laws and conventions, including (a). the UN Charter, (b). the UN Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (UN Genocide Convention), (c). the Rights of the Child Convention (United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child ), (d). the UN Refugee Convention ( UN Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees), (e). the Geneva Conventions, (f) the International Criminal Court, (g) the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People, (h). the International Convention on the Suppression and Punishment of the Crime of Apartheid, (i). the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW), (j). International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, (k).numerous UNGA and UNSC Resolutions, (l) the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, (m). the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination, (n). the 1926 Slavery Convention or the Convention to Suppress the Slave Trade and Slavery, (o). 2015 Paris Climate Agreement, and (p). “Love thy neighbour as thyself” and “Kindness and Truth”, the core humane “memes” of Humanity as asserted by the wonderful Palestinian humanitarian Jesus (but comprehensively rejected by nuclear terrorist and genocidally racist Apartheid Israel). UN Watch: “In the decade between June 2006 and June 2016, the United Nations Human Rights Council adopted 135 resolutions criticizing countries for human rights abuses; 68 out of those 135 were against Israel (more than 50%)… From 2012 to 2015, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a total of 97 resolutions criticizing countries; 83 out of those 97 have been against Israel (86%)” [35].
Anyone denying these realities is a liar and unfit for public life, let alone the Kindness- and Truth-seeking world of universities such as MU.
Item (9). Using the symbols and images associated with classic antisemitism (e.g., claims of Jews killing Jesus or blood libel) to characterize Israel or Israelis.
Comment: Obviously symbols such as the swastika of the genocidally racist Nazis are offensive to decent people. However just as the swastika is an ancient Hindu religious symbol that is routinely used today by 1 billion Hindu Indians, so the Star of David (on the flag of racism- and genocide-based Apartheid Israel) is a religious symbol of Judaism and Torah-observant Jews. It is obscene that the Apartheid Israeli flag soils the humanity of Judaism, noting that European Orthodox Judaism rejected the genocidally racist political ideology of Zionism [24].
The Orthodox Jewish Neturei Karta on the blasphemy of the Zionist State: “The founding of the Zionist State is in direct contradiction to the teachings of the Torah, which forbids the establishment of a Jewish State and commands Jews to remain in exile until released from that exile by G-d Himself without any human intervention. At which time all Nations of the world will live together in peace. Two thousand years ago, at the time of the destruction of the holy Temple, the Jewish people were commanded by the Creator (kesubos 111a) not to go up en masse to the land of Israel; not to rebel against the nations; and not to in any way attempt to end the exile. Torah faithful Jews are to behave in a civil, honest and grateful manner towards their host nations throughout the world. The Zionist intervention against G-d’s will by establishing the ‘State of Israel’, represents a direct rebellion against G-d and the Torah, a rebellion which has generated untold pain and suffering, to Jew and non-Jew alike” [24]. Zionism is not Judaism and anti-Zionism is not anti-Semitism. One of the stanzas of my poem “And then they stole the falafel” reads: “They stole the flag of Apartheid Israel/From the innocent Greeks, with the Star of David/Stolen from anti-Zionist Orthodox Judaism;/Their national anthem they stole from Smetana” [96].
Item (10). Drawing comparisons of contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis.
Comment: The cruel and genocidal oppression of the Indigenous Palestinians by nuclear terrorist, racist Zionist-run and genocidally racist Apartheid Israel invites comparison with the cruelties of Nazi Germany. However such comparisons made by anti-racist Jewish and non-Jewish humanitarians invite false and defamatory Zionist assertions of racism and anti-Semitism. To counter this, a detailed list of 52 Zionist- and Apartheid Israeli-Nazi Germany comparisons has been made. This detailed 52-item list records appalling abuses and human rights violations by genocidally racist, Nazi-style and neo-Nazi Apartheid Israel, its leaders and its supporters. This list compels qualitative and quantitative comparisons of genocidally racist and neo-Nazi Apartheid Israel with the conduct of genocidally racist Nazi Germany before and during WW2, and with racist fascists, fascoids, and neo-Nazis in general [97].
Item (11). Holding Jews collectively responsible for actions of the state of Israel”. End quote.
Comment: Obviously all Jews are not collectively responsible for the actions of the State of Israel, but most still are. Thus, for example, 25% of American Jews and 38% of under-40 American Jews correctly view Israel as a racist Apartheid state [68, 69]. Thus 75% of American Jews continue to fervently support a nuclear terrorist, racist Zionist-run, genocidally racist, serial war criminal, grossly human rights-abusing, child-abusing, mother-abusing, women-abusing, and democracy-by-genocide Apartheid Israel. A fundamental human trait is care and regard for children and their mothers [98] but this is grossly violated by Apartheid Israel. Roughly 50% of the Zionist-violated Palestinians are children and 75% are women and children. All Palestinian children are sorely and violently oppressed by racist Zionists and Apartheid Israel. Occupied Palestinians are excluded from all the human rights set out in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights [35]. “Lucky” Israeli Palestinians are Third Class citizens subject to 65 Nazi-style, race-based laws [35]. Most of the 8 million Exiled Palestinians are exiled from their own country and represent about 10% of the world’s ’s refugees. However 50% of Israeli children surveyed reported psychological, physical and sexual abuse (17% for the latter abuse). Similar shocking statistics obtain for pro-Apartheid Israel America and pro-Apartheid Israel Australia [99]. Memo to Apartheid Israel and its supporters: “Thou shalt not abuse children”, and “Thou shalt not kill children” [100].
If submitted for assessment by a student, the IHRA “Contemporary examples of antisemitism” [37, 58] would get a comprehensive “Fail” at any other university, but the MUM has given it a 100% grade, and will use it to censor, bully, intimidate and persecute anti-racist Jewish and non-Jewish staff and students at MU.
(D). The all-European IHRA countries variously have a disturbing history involving nuclear terrorism and genocidal racism.
Possibly because of the ongoing Global Avoidable Mortality Holocaust (7.4 million avoidable deaths from deprivation annually, overwhelmingly in the Global South) [44] the racist IHRA is an exclusively European club. In addition to supporting the anti-Jewish anti-Semitic, anti-Arab anti-Semitic and holocaust-ignoring IHRA Definition of anti-Semitism, the IHRA member countries variously have a disturbing history involving nuclear terrorism and genocidal racism [101].
Of the 35 members of the IHRA:
(1). all are European;
(2). the 5 located outside Europe (Argentina, Australia, ,Canada, Apartheid Israel, and the US) were all created based on the genocide of the Indigenous People;
(3). 9 members were part of the genocidal WW2 Nazi Germany Alliance;
(4). 4 (the US, UK, France and Apartheid Israel) are nuclear terrorist states;
(5). 28 belong to the 30-member nuclear-armed NATO that accepts mass incineration of billions of men, women and children as an acceptable military strategy;
(6). 14 were notably involved in the brutal conquest and genocide of Indigenous non-European people over 5 centuries;
(7). only 2 (Austria and Ireland) have had the moral decency to sign and ratify the Treaty for the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW); and
(8). all but 3 shockingly voted No to the annual UNGA Anti-Nazi Resolution in 2022 that condemns Nazism, neo-Nazism and related racist obscenities [101].
Final comments and conclusions.
Decent people, organizations and countries adhere to the basic humane principles of Kindness and Truth, and equal human rights for all as set out in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). However Occupied Palestinians are variously excluded from these rights set out in all the 30 Articles of the UDHR [102, 103].
It is appropriate to repeat the words of outstanding anti-racist Jewish American scholar Professor Jared Diamond: “It is morally wrong for one people to dispossess, subjugate, or exterminate another people” [78]. However this injunction is grossly violated by racist, genocidal, racist Zionist-run Apartheid Israel (2.2 million Indigenous Palestinians dead from violence, 0.1 million, and deprivation, 2.1 million, with 7 million refugees in the ongoing Palestinian Genocide) and its racist, genocide-committing and genocide-ignoring US Alliance backers that have spread devastation and mass killing across the Muslim world in recent decades [44, 53].
Of the 15.5 million mostly impoverished Indigenous Palestinians, the 5.5 million Occupied Palestinians surviving 56 years of highly abusive military rule are still variously deprived of all the human rights set out in the UDHR [102, 103]. The 2 million “lucky “ Israeli Palestinians still exist as Third Class citizens under 65 Nazi-style race-based laws. The 8 million Exiled Palestinians remain excluded from the land continuously inhabited by their forbears for over 3 millennia [35].
The IHRA Definition of anti-Semitism is anti-Jewish anti-Semitic (by falsely defaming anti-racist Jews critical of Apartheid Israel), anti-Arab anti-Semitic (by falsely defaming anti-racist Palestinians, Arabs and Muslims critical of Apartheid Israel, and indeed by supporting the horrendous genocidal racism of Zionism, of Apartheid Israel, and of the Zionist-beholden US Alliance engaged in a genocidal war on Muslims), and egregiously holocaust denying (by ignoring all WW2 holocausts other than the WW2 Jewish Holocaust, and indeed ignoring about 70 genocide and holocaust atrocities).
Zionism is genocidal racism in awful theory and appalling practice. Indeed Zionism is Nazism without gas chambers but with high technology war and subjugation, and with 100 nuclear weapons plus delivery systems including Germany-supplied submarines. Indeed Moshe Menuhin (anti-racist Jewish scholar and father of famed anti-racist and anti-Zionist musician Yehudi Menuhin) opined: “Jews should be Jews not Nazis” [24]. Famed anti-racist Jewish Canadian writer Naomi Klein similarly opined: “There is a debate among Jews – I’m a Jew by the way. The debate boils down to the question: “Never again to everyone, or never again to us?… [Some Jews] even think we get one get-away-with-genocide-free card…There is another strain in the Jewish tradition that say[s], “Never again to anyone.”” [24], and in advocating Boycotts, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) against Apartheid Israel: “It’s time. Long past time. The best strategy to end the increasingly bloody occupation is for Israel to become the target of the kind of global movement that put an end to apartheid in South Africa” [24].
The MUM had the option of listening to the opinions of eminent anti-racist Jewish and non-Jewish scholars about genocidally racist Zionism and the fervently pro-Zionist IHRA, including MU’s most famous Jewish alumni and critics of racist Zionism, Sir Isaac Isaacs and Professor Peter Singer [24, 25]. However the MUM chose to surrender to the false propaganda of genocidally racist Zionists and pro-Zionists. MU is part of the Melbourne Establishment that was traditionally anti-Jewish anti-Semitic in the ghastly “traditional” European sense but now on a bipartisan basis is anti-Jewish anti-Semitic by supporting the anti-Semitic and holocaust-denying Zionists and the IHRA. Indeed I am advised by a very wealthy Insider that one famous Melbourne Establishment organization now admits Jews but de facto, unofficially and very noticeably excludes Chinese and other non-Europeans.
The adoption of the IHRA Definition by MU Management (MUM) is a massive surrender to massive Zionist mendacity, war criminality and genocidal racism for whatever possible reasons – stupidity, ignorance, cowardice, money, greed, racism, and fervent loyalty to the genocidally racist foreign states of Apartheid Israel and the US Alliance come to mind – but only a Royal Commission into MU can come to grips with this horrendous surrender to Unkindness and Untruth.
The effective adoption of the anti-Semitic and holocaust-ignoring IHRA Definition into the MU Code of Conduct by the MU Management threatens the free expression, jobs and careers of MU academics and students, and trashes the reputation of MU (formerly Australia’s top university), Australia’s 42 other universities, and Australia. The only beneficiaries are genocidal Israeli and US militarism associated with MU, traitorous and genocidal racist Zionists, and nuclear terrorist, racist Zionist-run, genocidally racist, serial war criminal, grossly human rights-abusing, child-abusing, mother-abusing, women-abusing, and democracy-by-genocide Apartheid Israel.
2 decades ago I concluded an analysis of “current academic censorship and self-censorship in Australian universities” [15] with 8 concrete suggestions, the last of which stated: “viii. Finally, we should publicly insist that universities that constrain free speech are not fit for our children.” Friends, graduates, staff and students of Melbourne University, of all Australian universities, and indeed of all universities in the world, must take action to save this formerly great institution of learning from this egregious, genocidally racist Zionist attack on the core human and academic ethos of Kindness and Truth.
