The exhibition of artworks by renowned art director and film director Razi Muhammad will be inaugurated tomorrow 25th May at Mattancherry Berth Art Gallery by famous poet Dr. Ratheesh Krishna. The exhibition is part of the 125th-anniversary celebrations of the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and will feature a collection of Razi’s digital sketches and abstracts. The opening ceremony, which will take place at 4:30 PM on Saturday, will also be attended by film director T.K. Rajeev Kumar and art historian and curator Latha Kurian.
Curated by poet and art connoisseur Shihab, this five-day-long exhibition titled “I Think Therefore I Am Confused” will showcase around 45 of Razi’s artworks. Razi, who is also the director of the film “Velutha Rathrikal” (White Nights), believes that art can be expressed through any medium as long as there is no end to curiosity.
Razi, a graduate of Thiruvananthapuram Fine Arts College, M.S. University in Baroda, and the Pune Film Institute, has proven his skills in miniature, animation, and visual effects in cinema. He has also directed signature films for film festivals like IFFK and Vibgyor. “Velutha Rathrikal,” directed by Razi and based on Dostoyevsky’s novel, won the state award for Best Adapted Screenplay that year.
