Gaza (Quds News Network)- The Director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, Hussam Abu Safiya, has described the situation in the area as “catastrophic” and “deteriorating,” amid an ongoing Israeli military offensive and siege that has caused widespread ruin.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Abu Safiya said:

“The situation in northern Gaza has deteriorated significantly since Tuesday evening. The bombing has not stopped throughout the night, with more than seven explosive-laden drones targeting the area around Kamal Adwan Hospital, resulting in the destruction of entire buildings and residential blocks.”

“The debris and explosions have directly hit the hospital, shattering doors and windows and causing panic among the patients inside. Kamal Adwan Hospital is currently treating over 120 injured individuals.”

“Although we have carried out some repairs at the hospital, the continuous bombing has rendered our efforts useless. We are in urgent need of restoring oxygen, water, electricity, and storage systems. This cycle of destruction and repair has become a terrifying routine, as our facilities are subjected to daily attacks.”

“The home of the Abu Al-Tarabish family, located in a nearby residential area, was targeted. Over thirty people lived there. Unfortunately, no one has been reported to have reached Kamal Adwan Hospital, indicating that the entire family may have been martyred under the rubble.”

“We received a distress call from neighbors and people trapped under the rubble, but we are unable to leave the hospital due to the ongoing danger. The bombing occurred during the night, and we lack the necessary tools and ambulances to rescue any potential survivors.”

“As daylight broke, the neighbors began searching for survivors, but unfortunately, they discovered that everyone had been killed in the bombing.”

“The current situation is catastrophic; medical supplies are being blocked from entering northern Gaza, and we are facing a severe shortage. We even lack basic tools for plumbing, water, and electricity. We attempted to bring in supplies through ambulances regularly evacuating patients, but so far, we have not received permission to do so.”

“The danger is escalating, and we are witnessing massive loss of life, with many martyrs in the targeted areas.”

“We urgently call on the international community to intervene and stop the ongoing bloodshed against the remaining civilians in northern Gaza, as well as the healthcare system that is continuously under attack, both day and night. Our facilities and staff are being targeted, and immediate action is necessary to protect them.”

Since October 5, when Israel launched a new offensive on northern Gaza, believed to be part of the so-called Generals’ Plan, Kamal Adwan hospital has been under siege. Barely any humanitarian aid has been allowed to enter the north since then.

Israel has ordered all of the 400,000 Palestinians in northern Gaza to move south and issued evacuation orders to Kamal Adwan and the area’s two other hospitals, al-Awda and the Indonesian hospital.
