Hindutva way of killing the Constitution

Preamble of Indian Constitution After 42nd Amendment
Preamble of Indian Constitution After 42nd Amendment

The second longest serving RSS chief (1940-73), Shri Madhav Sadashivrao Golwalkar, three years after independence, formed his own political entity (1950) which he named Jansangh, which is now called BJP. The purpose behind it was to protect the capitalists, upper class and upper castes. The Jansangh had 27 years from 1950-1977 and after going to Janata Party for three years and then coming back, Jansangh started its second innings by changing its name to Bharatiya Janata Party in 1980, which is 45 years old today.

The 73-year journey of this party has no history except protecting the interests of free economy and upper castes and this is also the history of its parent organization RSS. Incidents of atrocities on Dalits are happening every day and there is not a single example of RSS ever raising its voice against them. This proves that it is made only to protect the interests of upper caste society and capitalists at economic level. In the ten years of BJP’s tenure, it is even more clear that how by luring the poor with the lure of thousands or two thousands, they are providing money to the capitalists by ignoring all the rules and laws, from the natural resources of our country to financial institutions like banks and LIC. Just a week ago, there is news that Ambani group had taken a loan of Rs 49000 crore from a bank and now it is unable to pay, so it has paid Rs 450 crore and Rs 470550 has been waived off. Does this bank behave like this with any small borrower? And such a huge amount can be spent by our own country’s bank on Ambani’s son’s wedding by spending almost the same amount. His assets range from residential houses to refineries and such large industrial establishments. What does it indicate that such a huge amount was waived off for him?

And that is why the present government has made its intentions clear on the very first day and in the very first session of the new parliament by removing the words socialism and secularism from the new copy of the constitution. In any case, since the inception of this party, the dominance of kings, moneylenders and mainly upper castes and only men has been there. But gradually, keeping in view the demands of parliamentary politics, women and people from backward castes were also included, albeit superficially. And now the Prime Minister himself has been forced to shout in the election campaign that he belongs to a backward caste. But looking at the track record of the last ten years, what has he done for Dalits, tribals and women apart from filling the coffers of a few capitalists?

Although in his speeches he used to call the 140 crore population as ‘Team India’. But for the past few days he has started hating the word ‘India’. So even if he calls it ‘Team Bharat’, the Dalits make up more than half of the 140 crore population, which is 15 percent, the minorities are close to it, and when the tribals and backward castes are added, three fourths of the population is of these people only. But in the last ten years nothing has come to this population. On the contrary they are facing the brunt of unemployment and inflation.

And this is the same Guru Golwalkar who, on 26th November 1949, when our Constitution’s architect Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and other members together announced the Constitution prepared after nearly three years of tireless efforts in our Constituent Assembly, then in an article of 30th November in the English mouthpiece of the Sangh, ‘Organize’, it was said that, “This Constitution is like a rag, copied from various Constitutions of India and abroad, in which there is no mention of Indianness at all. (“But in our Constitution there is no mention of the unique constitutional development in ancient Bharat. Manu’s laws were written long before Lycurgus of Sparta or Solon of Persia. To this day his laws as enunciated in the Manusmriti excite the administration of the World and elicit spontaneous obedience and conformity. But to our Constitutional Pundits that means nothing.”)

The ruling party whose parent organisation had declared its opinion soon after the declaration of our constitution. And in its place, the thousands of years old, rotten code filled with inhumane discriminatory rules and traditions about women and Shudras like Manusmriti was not only rejected but the new constitution made by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and his colleagues was also made. What is the mentality of those who call the inhumane and inequitable rules of Manusmriti as the ideal constitution of India? So now they have not only removed the word socialism or secularism, but in the coming days they have paved the way to bring Manusmriti by eliminating the entire constitution. This is just the beginning of removing two words.

And what kind of turns are they taking today, despite being in electoral politics? At present, there is a bill for reservation for women in the Lok Sabha of India, and that too with complete secrecy, and in that too census and restructuring of constituencies, meaning it will take another fifteen to twenty years to implement it. Meaning, if you keep electing this party continuously till then in the hope that the Bharatiya Janata Party cannot take even a single step without the permission of the Sangh, even though the Sangh would say that “Our organization is a cultural organization, and we have no connection with politics.”

When RSS volunteer Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee came to Nagpur after becoming the Prime Minister of India for the first time, he met the then RSS chief Shri Kappu Sudarshan. At that time, when the journalists asked him, “Are you the Prime Minister of India or a RSS volunteer?”, Atalji replied, “First of all, I am a RSS volunteer and then the Prime Minister of India.”

And the RSS chief Mr. Mohan Bhagwat, who said that we have nothing to do with politics, asked about the name of India Alliance, what was the need for the name India Videshi when the name Bharat is already there? Just a week ago, in the so-called Chintan Baithak in Pune, BJP National President Nadda was among the participants, did he come to eat Pune’s famous sweet Shrikhand?

How much hypocrisy is it for the second Sangh Pramukh, who founded the Jansangh in 1950, and has been reacting to the political events of our country from time to time, to say that our organisation has nothing to do with politics?

After the present government came to power, in every institution of India, from education to every institution, RSS volunteers have been appointed in every field, from vice chancellors, various advisors of the Prime Minister, governors, CBI, IB, ED and various administrative officers. These people have been appointed on this primary condition only that they are RSS volunteers. And that is why from the so-called new education policy, to the appointments of vice chancellors in various universities and changes in the curriculum, the so-called advisors are demanding changes in the constitution of our country.

Therefore, after the ruling party (1980), like the proverb ‘the bottle is new but the stuff inside is old’, the new name is Bharatiya Janata Party, which after 1985, after the Shah Bano case, by fuelling the Babri Masjid-Ram Mandir dispute, and by constantly conducting Rath Yatras and various pujas and religious hypocrisy, has succeeded in creating religious polarization in the entire country. Take the example of the Kumbh Mela currently going on, this Kumbh Mela has been sponsored by the ruling party for the first time and that is why the figures of people attending are being broadcasted in an exaggerated manner! Even though the crowd is not being controlled, hundreds of people are losing their lives in various accidents and the Prime Minister is shrugging off their deaths by calling them saints. It is the nature of the Bharatiya Janata Party to play with the lives of people for its political gain. The Gujarat riots of 23 years ago is the biggest proof of this.

And the Bhagalpur (1989) riots, followed by the demolition of the Babri Masjid, on 6 December 1992! 6 December is the Mahanirvana Diwas of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. And I believe that this date has been decided by the Sangh after careful consideration. It has been elected twice in the Lok Sabha with an absolute majority since the 2014 elections and has started tampering with the Constitution. The Brahmin performing Puja in the inauguration ceremony of the new Lok Sabha and selecting the Ganesh Chaturthi date for the Parliament session and entering the new Parliament building is against the Constitution of our country.

Because people of all religions of the world live in our country. And that is why the makers of our constitution have used the word secular. What is the other purpose behind removing the words secular and socialism from the new copy of the constitution given to the members of parliament in the first session of the new Lok Sabha? I have written in the beginning of my post that Golwalkar has rejected the constitution. The Sangh’s political unit BJP is cleverly starting to implement this by removing one by one provisions of the constitution. This smells like destroying the thousands of years old Ganga-Jamuni culture of our country. Due to which the unity and integrity of our country is in danger. And by removing the word socialism, we have declared openly that we want to fill the coffers of capitalists only and only.
