Australia’s 39 taxpayer-funded universities have endorsed a highly controversial new definition of antisemitism that was drafted by leaders from the Group of Eight (GoE), Australia’s top  universities, and is expected to be enforced on all campuses. It is likely that the several  private Australian universities will follow suit. This despicable Action threatens the free speech of academics and students that is the core ethos of decent universities. 

The essence of  the definition adopted by Australia’s universities is as follows: “Antisemitism is discrimination, prejudice, harassment, exclusion, vilification, intimidation or violence that impedes Jews’ ability to participate as equals in educational, political, religious, cultural, economic or social life. Criticism of Israel can be antisemitic when it is grounded in harmful tropes, stereotypes or assumptions and when it calls for the elimination of the State of Israel or all Jews or when it holds Jewish individuals or communities responsible for Israel’s actions. For most, but not all Jewish Australians, Zionism is a core part of their Jewish identity. Substituting the word ‘Zionist’ for ‘Jew’ does not eliminate the possibility of speech being antisemitic” [1].

This false, censoring and intimidating Action threatens the free speech of academics and students, and impacts negatively on the reputations of all past, present and future staff and students of Australia’s 39 taxpayer-funded universities. Indeed it threatens Australia’s A$40 billion per annum Education Export Industry that is crucial for the funding of Australia’s universities.

Set out below are (A) condemnation of the Action by some anti-racist Jewish and non-Jewish Australians, and (B) some key objections to this false,  authoritarian, anti-intellectual and dangerous Action.   

(A). Condemnation of the Action by some anti-racist Jewish and non-Jewish Australians.

(1). The Jewish Council  of Australia (JCA): “Today, Australia’s 39 Universities endorsed a dangerous and politicised definition of antisemitism which threatens academic freedom, will have a chilling effect on legitimate criticism of Israel, and risks institutionalising anti-Palestinian racism. They did so without meaningful consultation with Palestinian groups or diverse Jewish groups who are critical of Israel. The Jewish Council of Australia strongly opposes the antisemitism definition developed by the Group of Eight (Go8) universities and adopted by Universities Australia. By categorising Palestinian political expression as inherently antisemitic, it will be unworkable and unenforceable, and stifle critical political debate, which is at the heart of any democratic society. The definition dangerously conflates Jewish identities with support for the state of Israel and the political ideology of Zionism. We highlight two key concerns. (1)  Mischaracterisation of Criticism of Israel…  The definition’s inclusion of ‘calls for the elimination of the State of Israel’ would mean, for instance, that calls for a single binational democratic state, where Palestinians and Israelis have equal rights, could be labelled antisemitic.  Moreover, the wording around “harmful tropes” is dangerously vague, failing to distinguish between tropes about Jewish people, which are antisemitic, and criticism of the state of Israel, which is not.  2. Misrepresentation of Zionism as Core to Jewish Identity.  The definition states that for most Jewish people “Zionism is a core part of their Jewish identity”. We are deeply concerned that by adopting this definition, Universities will be taking and promoting a view that a national political ideology is a core part of Judaism. This is not only inaccurate, but is also dangerous. Zionism is a political ideology of Jewish nationalism, not an intrinsic part of Jewish identity. There is a long history of Jewish opposition to Zionism, from the beginning of its emergence in the late-19th century, to the present day. Many, if not the majority, of people who hold Zionist views today are not Jewish” [2].

(2). Sarah Schwartz (human rights lawyer and JCA Executive Officer): “It degrades the very real fight against antisemitism for it to be weaponised to silence legitimate criticism of the Israeli state and Palestinian political expressions. It also risks fomenting division between communities and institutionalising anti-Palestinian racism” [2].

(3). Naama Blatman (scholar of settler-colonialism and Israel/Palestine and Executive Member of the JCA): “As a Jewish-Israeli academic who researches and teaches in the area of settler-colonialism and Israel/Palestine, this definition will have a chilling effect on scholarly work criticising the state of Israel and the political ideology and impacts of Zionism. This definition could very well be weaponised to silence the crucial work of academics in this area, including my own” [2].

 (4). The Australia Palestine Advocacy Network (APAN): “[APAN] unequivocally condemns the adoption by Universities Australia and its 39 universities of a new definition of antisemitism that dangerously conflates criticism of Israel with discrimination against Jewish people. This move manipulates genuine concern about antisemitism to silence political dissent, shield Israel from accountability and shut down Palestinians and their allies. Instead of protecting Jewish students, staff and community members from discrimination, universities are criminalising discussions about Israel’s apartheid, settler-colonialism and genocide in Palestine. This misguided institutional overreach is a direct consequence of settler-colonialism, political pressure from those who support Israel and its genocide, and a recent Senate inquiry, which have worked together to seek to impose ideological conformity on universities and suppress criticism of Israel. The result is an outright assault on academic freedom, open inquiry, and the truth. It is an attack on Palestinians and everyone who supports them.  Universities must be bastions of critical inquiry and freedom of expression, not platforms for political censorship. It is entirely legitimate to question and critique Zionism and the nation-state of Israel, whose very foundation rests on the dispossession and oppression of Palestinians. Suppressing this truth serves only to entrench injustice. By equating anti-Zionism with antisemitism, this policy falsely binds Jewish identity to Zionism – an assumption rejected by a growing number of Jewish people themselves, who oppose Israel’s genocide, illegal occupation and system of apartheid. We demand that all universities reject this dangerous definition of antisemitism, and immediately affirm and act in line with their commitment to academic freedom, rigorous critical inquiry, human rights and the fight against all forms of racism – including anti-Palestinian racism and Islamophobia” [3].

(5). Nasser Mashni (APAN President):“By adopting this definition of antisemitism, Australian universities have sacrificed their integrity, turning institutions of higher learning into obedient tools for political censorship and the shielding of genocide and apartheid. This is not about fighting hate – it’s about silencing dissent, erasing Palestinian voices, and defending Israel’s atrocities from accountability.  This a shameful and cowardly capitulation to the Israel lobby, and an attempt to turn our universities into echo chambers of oppression. The right to challenge Israel’s brutal occupation and settler-colonialism is not just a political stance – it’s a moral imperative, and no definition of antisemitism should ever be weaponised to shut this down. What we are witnessing is a dangerous and authoritarian crackdown on freedom of expression and solidarity with Palestine in all aspects of life in this country – McCarthyism is reborn, where dissent is no longer tolerated, and critical thought is branded as ‘hate.’ This is the continued erosion of our fundamental right to speak truth to power and challenge injustice” [3].

(6). Sawsan Madina (former Head of Australia’s multicultural SBS Television): “I read the definition of antisemitism adopted by Australian universities and my first thought was “we need a list”, not of what is considered antisemitic, but of what is not considered antisemitic. Now it would be helpful to have a prescriptive list of what one can say about Israel without being smeared as an antisemite. And I am not being facetious. Perhaps those who developed this definition could provide such a list. It would be a very short list. Nevertheless, it would be greatly appreciated by all those who are morally caught between the need to speak up against a genocide and the fear of losing their livelihoods and reputations… B. Michael [Jewish  Israeli journalist]: ”the new and updated definition of antisemitism is: Once, an ‘antisemite’ was someone who hated Jews. Today, an ‘antisemite’ is someone the Jews hate.”” [4].

(B). Summarized below are key objections to this false,  authoritarian, anti-intellectual and dangerous Action by Australian  universities that threatens academic and student free speech and scholarship.  

(1). The Action is intrinsically racist by singling out alleged verbal abuse towards one group (Jewish Zionists) that is relatively privileged by being fervently supported by Mainstream media and politicians, thereby ignoring real racism, discrimination and threats against many other Australian groups (notably Indigenous Australians, Muslims, Chinese and non-Europeans).

(2).  The Action arose to counter opposition to the Gaza Genocide and indeed to assist Zionists in sabotaging the educative impact of public rallies and student campus protests in Australia, the US and elsewhere against the US-backed and overwhelmingly Jewish Israeli-imposed Gaza Genocide (553,000 Gazans killed by violence or imposed deprivation , 7 October 2023-20 January 2025) [5, 6].  

(3). The Action ignored the opinions of anti-racist Jews opposed to racist Zionism (e.g. Nobel Laureates Harold Pinter and Nadine Gordimer)[7], of non-Jews opposed to racist Zionism (e.g. Nobel Laureates Nelson Mandela,  Desmond Tutu and John Maxwell Coetzee) [8], and outstanding anti-racist Jewish Australians (e.g. Sir Isaac Isaacs, Professors Peter Singer, Dennis Altman, and Eva Cox) [7], and anti-racist Jewish organizations (e.g. the Jewish Council of Australia) [2]. Instead those responsible took advice from  Zionists fervently supporting Australia-violating Apartheid Israel and smearing anti-racist Jewish and non-Jewish humanitarian opponents as asserted “antisemites”.

(4). The Action entrenches real anti-Jewish anti-Semitism  in Australia through false conflation of serial war criminal, genocidally racist and egregiously mendacious Apartheid Israel and its awful crimes with all Jews including anti-racist  Jews (the very best of Jews).

(5). The Action contributes to the racist Zionist trashing of the 3 millennium humanitarian Jewish tradition from the Ten Commandments and Jesus’ “love thy neighbour as thyself” to Baruch Spinoza of the Enlightenment (address reality by observation and reason) and present era humanitarian, moral and intellectual giants from Hannah Arendt to Howard Zinn.

(6). The Action ignores the reality that anti-Semitism occurs in 2 equally repugnant forms, anti-Jewish anti-Semitism and anti-Arab anti-Semitism: anti-Jewish anti-Semitism  is directed against 18 million mainly culturally Semitic  Jews and anti-Arab anti-Semitism  is directed against 300 million ethnically and culturally Semitic Arabs  and against 2,000 million mainly culturally Semitic Muslims (aka Islamophobia). Indeed outstanding anti-racist Jewish American scholar Professor Bertell Ollman (New York University) declared: “For obvious reasons, the Zionists are very sensitive about being compared to the Nazis (not so sensitive that it has restrained them in their actions but enough to bellow “unfair” and to charge “anti-Semitism” when it happens). Yet, the facts on the ground, when not obscured by one or another Zionist rationalization, show that the Zionists are the worst anti-Semites in the world today, oppressing a Semitic people as no nation has done since the Nazis” [7]. Likewise Moshe Menuhin (father of universalist musical giant and anti-racist and hence anti-Zionist Yehudi Menuhin): “Jews should be Jews – not Nazis” [7], and famed anti-racist Jewish Canadian writer Naomi Klein : “There is a debate among Jews – I’m a Jew by the way. The debate boils down to the question: “Never again to everyone, or never again to us?… [Some Jews] even think we get one get-away-with-genocide-free card…There is another strain in the Jewish tradition that say[s], ‘Never again to anyone””[7].

(7). The Action ignores the Elephant in the Room reality that most Jews are non-Semitic Eastern- and Central European Ashkenazi Jews who descend from non-Semitic Turkic Khazar converts to Judaism in about the 9th century CE [9-19]. Indeed I come from a very famous Ashkenazi Jewish Hungarian family (ask any surgeon or mathematician) and DNA analysis days that I am mainly Ashkenazi Jewish with zero (0) Semitic Middle Eastern contribution, this being confirmed by several centuries of recorded family history.   

(8). The Action is actually both anti-Jewish anti-Semitic and anti-Arab anti-Semitic by implicitly falsely smearing  a large body of anti-racist Jewish, Palestinian, Arab, and Muslim critics of the genocidal crimes and gross human rights violations of Apartheid Israel as assertedly “antisemitic”.

(9). The Action robs decent, anti-racist Jews and non-Jews of agency in obligatorially protesting horrific crimes such as the Jewish Israeli-imposed Gaza Genocide. Internationally famous anti-racist Jewish Australian ethicist Professor Peter Singer: “We are responsible for what we do and for what we fail to do” (page xxxii [20]). As articulated by the wonderful Jewish Palestinian Jesus in the parable of the Good Samaritan, we cannot walk by on the other side: “Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves? And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise” [21]. However through this Action all Australian universities will remove such agency under the very real threat of persecution, prosecution, expulsion and/or dismissal for violating Zionist-based Codes of Conduct by criticizing Apartheid Israel and its genocidally racist supporters. Silence is complicity.

(10). The Action’s Zionist proponents preferred adoption of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) Definition of Antisemitism. The IHRA Definition was  notoriously accepted by the University of Melbourne [22] but rejected by all but several Australian universities and indeed rejected by over 40 anti-racist Jewish organizations [23]. Australia is a member of the 35-member, all-European and deeply racist IHRA that is anti-Jewish anti-Semitic and anti-Arab anti-Semitic (by falsely defaming anti-racist Jewish, Palestinian, Arab and Muslim critics of Apartheid Israeli crimes  as assertedly “anti-Semitic”)  and holocaust-denying by ignoring all WW2 holocausts other than the WW2 Jewish Holocaust (5-6 million Jews killed by violence or deprivation) notably (deaths from violence and deprivation in brackets) the WW2 European Holocaust (30 million), the WW2 Soviet Holocaust (25 million), the WW2 Polish Holocaust (6 million),the WW2 Sinti and Roma Holocaust (1 million), the WW2 Chinese Holocaust (35-40 million, 1937-1945), the WW2 Bengali Holocaust (WW2 Indian Holocaust, WW2 Bengal Famine; 6-7 million Indians deliberately starved to death for strategic reasons by the British under Churchill with food-denying Australian complicity in Bengal, Bihar, Assam and Odisha [22].

(11). The Action was impelled by Zionists assertedly suffering  “fear” and “intimidation” from  on-campus pro-Palestinian demonstrations. Yet, for example, I and other anti-racist Jewish Australians and identifiably Jewish (e.g. by wearing T-shirts saying  “Jews for  a Free Palestine”) are perfectly safe and relaxed in large and impassioned pro-Palestinian human rights rallies, noting that many Australian Palestinians (including several friends of mine) have suffered the loss of relatives in Gaza since 7 October 2023  due to Jewish Israeli-imposed violence and deprivation. Indeed I have attended most of the weekly Sunday Rallies for Gaza in Melbourne (12 noon, State Library of Victoria every Sunday), there is often an anti-racist Jewish speaker and there is invariably warm applause when the support of anti-Zionist Jews is acknowledged.

(12). The Action seeks to constrain and punish expression of humanitarian views by anti-racist Jewish and non-Jewish Australians opposed to war crimes by US Alliance-backed Apartheid Israel. It thus represents an attack on both Kindness and Truth that constitute  the core ethos of decent Humanity. In addition  Australia has an extremely restricted Mainstream media landscape and this seriously impacts democracy and the liberties of all Australians. In short as articulated by Thomas Piketty, the present gross wealth inequity is bad for the economy (the poor cannot afford to buy the goods and services they produce) and bad for democracy (Big Money purchases public perception of reality, votes, more political power and hence more private wealth) [24-26]. The Australian Greens and former Australian PMs Kevin Rudd and Malcolm Turnbull have demanded a public inquiry into the dominant and king-making Murdoch media empire that accounts for 70% of daily newspaper readership in Australia [27, 28]. I have made a number of exhaustively documented Submissions to the Australian Federal National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) [29-34], specifically on “the Australian Labor Government’s Lying For Apartheid Israel”[30], “Australian war crimes” [29, 31], “Carbon debt” [29, 32], “Huge and fraudulent university fees” [33], and “Mainstream media lying” [34]. Like Zionist subversion of Australia, these huge matters are resolutely ignored in Zionist-perverted, US lackey Australia.  Australian academics, students and graduates provide a vital,  alternative, ethical and informed contribution to public life in Murdochracy Australia but this is now acutely threatened by the Action.

(13). The Action violates the core academic ethos of unfettered free speech. The fundamental ethos of academia is untrammelled free speech. Censorship is antithetical to scholarship, teaching and communication of ideas. On 1 March 2025 I sent the following Letter to the editors of Australian Mainstream media: “A year ago I published a detailed analysis entitled “Zionists & Pro-Zionist, US Lackey Australian Government Threaten Australian Academic Free Speech”. Today university free speech is grossly  and disgustingly threatened by “the enemy within”, grossly over-paid university bosses (“refugees from scholarship” according to my scholarly Jewish refugee father Dr John Polya). 25 years ago I addressed a large Melbourne Conference on the Public University and my detailed contribution entitled “Current Academic Censorship and Self-Censorship in Australian Universities” was later published after scrutiny by an eminent law professor. As a scientist I offered Solutions, the last of which was “Finally, we should publicly insist that universities that constrain free speech are not fit for our children”. Realistically I can only faintly hope that some if not all Australian universities (and especially the 5 with which I have been variously associated since 1961 as a student, teacher and researcher) will break ranks and join with the anti-racist and scholarly Jewish Council of Australia  in condemning this latest attack on academic and student free speech that, incidentally, also acutely threatens Australia’s $40 billion per annum Education Export Industry. Offer: I am happy to be an unpaid  24/7 Vice Chancellor”.     

(14). The Action violates Kindness and Truth that represent the core ethos of decent Humanity. Kindness was most simply articulated by Jesus’ “Love thy neighbour as thyself” and lying grossly violates that moral imperative. The fundamental rule  for a teacher is not to lie to students. Lying occurs in 2 basic forms, lying by omission and lying by commission. Lying by omission is far, far worse than repugnant  lying by commission because the latter can at least permit public refutation and public debate (subject to Mainstream gate-keepers of course) [37-39]. The Action pressures academics and indeed students to lie by omission and commission to students, fellow academics and the public under threat of threatening proceedings, punishment and even expulsion.

(15). The Action unforgivably oppresses anti-racist Jews inescapably bound by the key WW2 imperatives of “zero tolerance for lying”, “zero tolerance for racism”, “bear witness” and “never again to anyone”. Anti-racist Jews are inescapably bound by these key imperatives from the WW2 Jewish Holocaust (and indeed from all genocides and holocausts) .

(16). The Action is unforgivably racist but ostensibly arose in response to asserted “racism” supposedly directed against a particular group.  2 Christmases (or 2 Chanukahs ) ago “The Age”, Melbourne published my reasonable view re the US-backed, Australia-complicit and Jewish Israeli-imposed Gaza Genocide that “ the world contains 2 kinds of people, those opposing the mass murder of children and the unforgivable others”. Reports from expert epidemiologists in the leading medical journal The Lancet and elsewhere indicate that by 20 January 2023 Gaza deaths from violence and imposed deprivation  totalled 553,000, this including 111,000 violent deaths [40, 41], an estimated 4 times that number or a further 443,000 dying  indirectly from imposed deprivation [5, 6] and total deaths including the deaths of 393,000 children, 51,000 women and 113,000 men [5, 6]. Australia’s universities now threaten “those opposing the mass murder of children”.

(17). The Action is part of a much wider Zionist campaign to silence anti-racist  Jewish and non-Jewish Australians protesting Apartheid Israel and its ongoing Gaza Genocide (553,000 killed by violence and imposed deprivation) and the overall, century-long Palestinian Genocide and Palestinian Holocaust (2.5 million Palestinians killed by violence, 0.1 million, and imposed deprivation, the remainder). The Palestinian Genocide  has been associated with 5 ethnic cleansing Zionazi atrocities: (i) the pre-1948 deadly displacement of scores of thousands of Indigenous Palestinian tenant farmers  from land commercially acquired by Zionist settlers; (ii)  the expulsion of 800,000 Indigenous Palestinians  in the 1948 Nakba or Catastrophe (60% of the Indigenous Palestinian population expelled, 15,000 killed, 530 villages emptied, 120 mosques destroyed) [42]; (iii) the expulsion of 400,000 Arabs in the 1967 Naksa or Setback in which the Zionazis seized all of Palestine plus Egyptian, Jordanian, Lebanese and Syrian territory (tens of thousands of Palestinians killed) [43]; (iv) the 2023 onwards Gaza Genocide (over 2 million Gazans expelled from their homes and most being repeatedly expelled from different secondary locations in Gaza; by the 20 January 2025 Ceasefire 553,000 Gazans had been killed including 111,000 violently killed and  an estimated further 443,000 who died indirectly from imposed deprivation; noting that 70% of deaths from deprivation  in impoverished countries are under-5 year old infants [43] and further assuming  that the relative proportions of  child, women and men violent deaths are those reported by Palestinian authorities and Euro-Med human Rights Watch [45], it is estimated that the 553,000 Gazans killed by violence and deprivation by 20 January 2025 included 393,000 children, 51,000 women and 113,000 men [5, 6]); and (v) since 7 October 2023 Apartheid Israel and illegal settler have ramped up attacks on Occupied Palestinians in the West Bank with some 40,000 driven from their homes.

(18). The Action threatens that science-informed reportage on the horrendous death toll in the Gaza Genocide  may be punished as asserted “hate speech” and “antisemitism” directed against Zionist Jews. From reports in the top medical journal The Lancet it is estimated that by 20 January 2025 about 110,670  Gazans had died violently in the Jewish Israeli-imposed Gaza Genocide, that an estimated 4 times that number or a further 443,000 had died indirectly from imposed deprivation [5, 6] and total deaths included the deaths of 393,000 children, 51,000 women and 113,000 men [5, 6]. Western Mainstream media (e.g. the BBC, the New York Times and the Washington Post) have reported The Lancet-reported upwardly revised estimate of 64,260 direct deaths in 9 months ( i.e. 110,670 deaths by 20 January 2025 i.e. after 15.5 months) [40, 41]. However they have resolutely declined to report the 4-fold greater expert  estimate of a further 443,000 indirect deaths from imposed deprivation [46-61] (a notable exception being the UK Guardian) [48, 53]) – silence is complicity and this amounts to genocide commission, genocide complicity, genocide ignoring, genocide denial, holocaust commission, holocaust complicity, holocaust ignoring and  holocaust  denial.

 (19). The Action represents a fundamental corporatist rejection of the collegiate idea of the university as its past, present, and future academics and students. The corporatizing of Australian universities got underway in the 1990s with universities wanting to Codes of Conduct to restrict the free speech of academics to their “area of expertise”(e.g. see [62-68]). The “idea of the university” transmuted from a “collegiate model” to that of a “profit-making corporate entity with a corporate branding”. Academics departing from these free speech constraints or otherwise damaging the “brand” could face action. This censorship regime imposed on students and academics has extended to technical matters proscribed by governments “in the national interest” with violations punishable  by imprisonment. Thus the 2012 Australia-United States  Defence Trade Cooperation Treaty-related Defence Trade Controls  Bill made it an offence punishable by 10 years in prison for an academic without a permit to inform non-Australians  (in conversation, tutorials, lectures, conference papers, scientific papers etc) about numerous  technologies and thousands of chemicals and organisms  listed in a then 353-page Defence and Strategic Goods List. Violation of  these constraints on free speech by Australian universities could occur in conversation, an  academic paper, a lecture, a conference presentation, a book etc [68]. (20). The Action by Australian universities  in the interests of Zionists and of Australia-violating Apartheid Israel tarnishes the achievements of all Australian university graduates past, present and future. At  a job interview all such graduates will now have to face possible questions about their support for or silence over Apartheid Israeli crimes. Thus the University of Melbourne  was commonly regarded as Australia’s top university but its betrayal of the key academic ethos of untrammelled free speech casts a shadow over all Melbourne University graduates, past present and future. Words fail here, but Greta Thunberg’s “How dare you!”in response to  intergenerational betrayal over climate change comes close in expressing appropriate indignation. One is reminded of eminent Australian jurist,  Melbourne  University graduate and Australia’s first Jewish and first Australian-born governor general, Sir Isaac Isaacs, who declared: “The honour of Jews throughout the world demands the renunciation of political Zionism” [7].

(21). The Action comes on top of and lends university weight to existing Federal laws that punish alleged “terrorism” and “antisemitism” offences with mandatory imprisonment  for 6 years and 1 year respectively. Indeed a student at ANU was expelled for comments about an Indigenous Palestinian  organization deemed by the US state terrorism-linked Australian Government to be a “terrorist organization” (this being later rescinded on appeal). The ABC: “The Australian National University (ANU) has expelled a student over comments they made about Hamas during an interview about pro-Palestinian protests on ABC radio. The ABC has confirmed that Beatrice Tucker was expelled by the university, with sources confirming the ANU believed their comments may have been construed as supporting a terrorist organisation.”[81]. The ANU later reversed the expulsion, this eliciting  strong protests  from Zionists [82]. 

 (22). The Action ignores Australian complicity in horrendous US Alliance and Apartheid Israeli crimes and instead uses “antisemitism hysteria”  to threatens decent, anti-racist Jewish and non-Jewish Australians committed to human rights and the good name of Australia. Zionist “antisemitism hysteria” and “terror hysteria” has been effective in hiding the horrifically deadly anti-Semitism of the Gaza Genocide (0.5 million killed by violence and imposed deprivation ) and the Palestinian Genocide (2.5 million killed)[83-85] . One notes that the cravenly US lackey Australian Labor Government  is complicit in the Gaza Genocide in 20 ways [86] and lies for Australia- violating and Australian-killing Apartheid Israel in 35 ways [87-89]. The even more craven Coalition Opposition is even more fervent in its support for Apartheid Israel. Thus the Coalition will not enforce ICC-issued arrest warrants against war criminals Benjamin Netanyahu and Yoav Gallant, fervently praises Netanyahu who falsely declared that “anti-Israel sentiment is antisemitism”, and  supports Trump’s genocidal Gaza policies. However  the cowardly Labor Government won’t criticize Apartheid Israel but makes inexplicit noises about “support for a 2 state solution” and “International Law”  (both rejected by serial war criminal Apartheid Israel). Whether it is state terrorism or non-state terrorism,  terrorism is as terrorism does. Thus at most 2,000 Israeli deaths could be attributed to Hamas and 200 to Hezbollah in the last 2 decades, whereas in the last 15.5 months US-, US Alliance- and Australia-backed Apartheid Israel has killed 553,000 Gazans, this horrific atrocity including  111,000  Gazans killed by violence,  443,000 deaths from imposed deprivation and the deaths of  393,000 children, 51,000 women and 113,000 men. Terrorism is as terrorism does and the US Government, the Apartheid Israeli government and the Australian Government are horrific state terrorist organizations complicit in the mass murder of children, mothers and women. That said, I am a fervent Gandhian opposed to any violence and my endless mantra is “Peace is the only way but silence kills and silence is complicity”. Indeed world-famous anti-racist Jewish Australian ethicist Professor Peter Singer: “We are responsible for what we do and for what we fail to do” [20]. The Action in the context of current Mainstream Australian “antisemitism hysteria” and “terror hysteria” seeks to silence decent and patriotic anti-racist Jewish and non-Jewish dissenters,  hide the horrendous Gaza Genocide and indeed hide other atrocities.

(23). The Action as a party to Zionist “antisemitism hysteria” hides the  horrific Gaza Genocide,  threatens  those exposing it, ignores real antisemitism directed by Zionists against  anti-racist Jews, and ignores horrific violence  against women. In Australia as in the West in general, the Zionists have weaponized “antisemitism” and indeed have weaponized the WW2 Jewish Holocaust to the extent that it is falsely described as “The Holocaust” in holocaust-denying exclusion of other WW2 holocausts and indeed some 70 genocides and holocausts  [20].  The falsely named and attributed Executive Council of Australian Jewry (ECAJ) produces an annual “Antisemitism Report” [85]. Table 1 of the latest 2024 ECAJ Report gives the following breakdown of the anti-Semitic incidents:  physical assault (65; none deadly), vandalism (29), verbal abuse (622), message (283), graffiti (393), posters, stickers etc (670) (page 4  [85]).The report gives scores of examples of asserted “antisemitism”. However of 75 examples given of assertedly “antisemitic” graffiti, posters and stickers , I adjudge 58 or 77% to be simply “fair comment”. Obviously any antisemitism is repugnant but the relative seriousness of human rights abuses must be objectively ranked by the numbers. Thus 275,000 Australian women suffered physical and/or sexual violence from their current partner in 2016 (versus in 2024 Australian Jews were subject to physical assault (65 incidents, none deadly), vandalism (29), verbal abuse (622), and abusive messaging (283) [84]. Similarly 18,700 Australians – mostly women and children – became homeless due to domestic violence in 2024 (no Jews were made homeless in 2024 due to violence, abuse or graffiti) [84].  Zionists and the  Zionist-perverted Australian Mainstream ignore the Jewish Israeli destruction of the ancient, populous, important and 11-university city of Gaza (Gaza Urbicide) [5]  and the 7 October 2023 onwards Gaza Massacre and Gaza Genocide: 553,350 Gaza dead (24% of the 2.3 million pre-war Gaza population) including 393,000 children, 51,000 women and 113,000 men [5, 6]. By way of comparison, the comprehensive ECAJ Report 2024 lists 65 assaults on Australian  Jews in a year and no fatalities [85]. Anti-racist Jewish American scholar Professor Bertell Ollman: “Yet, the facts on the ground, when not obscured by one or another Zionist rationalization, show that the Zionists are the worst anti-Semites in the world today, oppressing a Semitic people as no nation has done since the Nazis” [7].

(24). The Action commits Australia’s universities, staff and students to egregious lying by commission and omission in gross violation of the core academic ethos of Truth. As sketched here Australia’s universities have embarked on an intolerable  course of Orwellian falsehood that it compounds by forcing it upon academics and students. That derives from the reality that the Australian Labor Government (backed by the Coalition Opposition) is complicit in the Gaza Genocide in 20 ways [86] and lies for Apartheid Israel in 35 ways [87-89]. Indeed the Coalition Opposition fervently supports the ICC-sought war criminal Netanyahu in violation of International Law and hence his false assertion that “anti-Israel sentiment is antisemitism”.  Coalition leader Peter Dutton on Labor finally voting for the overwhelmingly endorsed 25 November 2024 UNGA Resolution for an end to the killing and  the Occupation [90]: “[Labor]sold the Jewish community out… They’ve completely abandoned the Jewish community, the State of Israel. There is a lot of anger, understandably in the community at the moment, with the way in which the Government has sold out the Jewish community. And I think the Prime Minister stands condemned” [91]. While Zionist-perverted , US lackey, cowardly and unprincipled Labor  knows that the Gaza Genocide,  Apartheid and the Apartheid Israeli Occupation are utterly wrong but is too scared to say so, according to eminent law professor Gillian Triggs the Coalition “is ideologically opposed to human rights” [92].  

(25). The Action may well deter, prohibit or  severely punish numerous sensible, humane and informed commentaries and conclusions e.g.  

(a). Those supporting Apartheid Israel are supporting the evil and utterly abhorrent  crime of Apartheid and accordingly are unfit for decent human company, public life and public office.

(b). While numerous anti-racist  Jewish intellectuals are resolutely critical  of the ongoing Palestinian Genocide, Western Mainstream Media variously  censor  or white-wash  the nuclear terrorist, genocidally racist, and grossly human rights-abusing conduct of Apartheid Israel. A part  explanation for this huge moral discrepancy is that the American 60% of the world’s 30 biggest media companies have a disproportionately high  Jewish Board membership. Jews and females represent 2% and 51%, respectively,  of the US population but average 33% and 19%, respectively, of Board members of the top 18 US media companies. While there is a growing number of anti-racist and anti-Zionist Jews, sadly they still remain a minority of Jews (30% of Australian Jews are not Zionists).

(c). Anti-Arab anti-Semitism is now entrenched in the Zionist-perverted West and involves deadly, Zionazi-backed, Western-imposed violence and deprivation in the Global South.

(d). The Zionism that Trump so fervently supports  is genocidal racism and Nazism without gas chambers and Babi Yar-style mass killing events but with 90 nuclear weapons and a frankly genocidal  Apartheid Israel that is among world leaders for a  high technology military and weapons industry. Although genocidally racist Apartheid Israel can be compared to genocidally racist German Nazism in 52 ways [93-98],  the “Nazi” descriptive for Apartheid Israel  is imprecise and “neo-Nazi” insufficient. Accordingly the neologism “Zionazism” is appropriate.

(e). My huge 2024 book “Free Palestine. End Apartheid Israel, Human Rights Denial, Gaza Massacre, Child Killing, Occupation and Palestinian Genocide” [99] could have been banned in Zionazi-subverted Australia and  neo-Nazi Germany but for the word “Apartheid” i.e. if the subtitle had said “End Israel” it could have been taken to be extreme “anti-Israel sentiment” and hence “antisemitism” punishable by a mandatory sentence of 1 year in prison in Zionazi-perverted Australia.

(f). Zionazi-ruled Apartheid Israel and the  traitorous Zionists who fervently support it throughout the world (notably in the US, UK, Canada and Australia) have been involved in egregious subversion, perversion and abuse in a swathe of countries around the world. Apartheid Israel and its fervently loyal  Zionist agents (including dual Israeli-Australian citizenship Zionist agents) have been variously involved in the  deception, subversion, perversion, robbing, shooting, tasering, mangling, threatening, killing, torture, false imprisonment, kidnapping, brain washing, intellectual child abuse, racism, Islamophobia, and false defamation against Australians.

 (g). Genocidally racist Apartheid Israel wants all the land of Palestine plus neighbouring Arab lands but not their Indigenous Semitic inhabitants – Nazi-style genocidal racism.  

Final comments and conclusions.

The core ethos of academia is free speech but this has been grossly violated by Australian universities threatening anti-racist Jewish and non-Jewish students critical of the appalling crimes of genocidal and neo-Nazi Apartheid Israel.  This Action damages all past, present and future academics and students associated with Australian universities,  threatens Australia’s A$40 billion per year Education Export Industry, and trashes Australia’s reputation. This Action must be urgently reversed and the perpetrators of this national sabotage held to account.
