Gaza (Quds News Network)- More than 400 Palestinians have been killed, the majority of them women and children, in Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip as Israel continues bombing the enclave since the early hours of Tuesday. Israel has resumed its genocidal war in Gaza after nearly two months of ceasefire.
The attacks began in the early hours of Tuesday morning, resulting in the killing of at least 322 civilians, the majority of whom are children, so far. Hundreds more have been injured, with many still missing under the rubble, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
The Israeli occupation continues its massacres after resuming its genocidal war in Gaza, with more than 400 Palestinians killed in just five hours, according to Gaza’s Government Media Office, which emphasized the already “severe humanitarian crisis” caused by Israel’s blockade of aid into the strip.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health says that the death toll since Israel resumed its genocide war in Gaza early Tuesday has climbed to 404, with over 562 others injured.
Many more victims remain trapped under the rubble, and the majority of those killed in the massacres are women and children.
There is a severe shortage of medical supplies, and our hospitals are lacking even the most basic resources.
The health situation is catastrophic, with 25 out of 38 hospitals out of service.
We are in urgent need of field hospitals, beds, and operating rooms to handle the overwhelming number of injuries and victims of this assault.
Israeli captive killed, two injured
A Hamas leader told Al-Araby Al-Jadeed that Israel’s new bombardments on Gaza have killed an Israeli captive and injured two others, confirming that eliminating Israeli captives is the Netanyahu’s main goal.
Israeli air force jets carried out a series of attacks across Gaza, targeting multiple areas in the north, center, and south. Reports confirm intense bombardment of residential homes, schools, and tents housing displaced Palestinians.
The Gaza Media Office stated that over 2.4 million Palestinians in Gaza have been “deprived of the most basic necessities of life, including food, medicine, water, infant formula, and other essential supplies,” amid accusations of using starvation as a weapon of war in Gaza.
At the same time, Gaza’s health system is collapsing due to the continued denial of medical supplies and humanitarian aid, it said, threatening to shut down hospitals and leaving them unable to treat the wounded and sick. “The ongoing fuel blockade also severely affects vital sectors, plunging Gaza into a full-scale disaster.”
Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he ordered the military to take “strong action” against Hamas over its refusal to release captives or agree to offers to extend the first phase of the ceasefire.
“Israel will, from now on, act against Hamas with increasing military strength,” the Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement.
The Israeli military claimed that it was conducting “extensive strikes on terror targets” belonging to Hamas, adding the assault aims to achieve the ‘objectives’ set by the political leadership.
Hamas said it viewed Israel’s attacks as a unilateral cancellation of the ceasefire that began on January 19.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said Israel had consulted with United States President Donald Trump about the strikes.
Israeli air force jets launched a wave of attacks across Gaza, targeting multiple areas in the north, center, and south. Reports confirm heavy bombardment of residential homes and makeshift shelters housing displaced Palestinians. The Israeli military stated that the assault aims to achieve the ‘objectives’ set by the political leadership.
Meanwhile, Israeli tanks and artillery have also bombarded southern and eastern Rafah and areas near Khan Younis. Residents report heavy explosions and widespread destruction.
Israeli Justification for the Attack
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz ordered the military to intensify operations allegedly against Hamas. They claim the attacks were necessary after Hamas repeatedly refused to release Israeli prisoners. Hamas had refused any prisoner exchange deals that does not guarantee ending the genocide.
U.S. Involvement
The United States was informed about the attacks in advance, according to Israeli sources. The White House confirmed that Israel consulted with U.S. officials before resuming the genocide.
President Trump had threatened that Hamas, the Houthis, Iran, and other enemies of Israel would pay a heavy price for any aggression.
Palestinian Factions’ React
Palestinian factions strongly condemned the renewed assault. Hamas stated that Netanyahu is violating the ceasefire agreement and putting Israeli prisoners in Gaza at risk. The resistance movement called on the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to support Palestinians and break the blockade on Gaza.
The Islamic Jihad Movement stated that Netanyahu is deliberately sabotaging peace efforts and committing further massacres. The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine urged international bodies to intervene immediately to stop the genocidal war.
