From 1950 onwards the US was involved in horrific wars that took the lives of tens of millions of people but the unforgivable American perpetrators unsurprisingly failed to acknowledge the carnage. However General Curtis LeMay, diplomat Madeleine Albright and President Donald Trump are just 3 top US perpetrators who have actually confessed to the US mass murder of civilians (in North Korea, Iraq under Sanctions, and in the ongoing Gaza Genocide, respectively).
Before detailing the confessions of these 3 evil war criminals it is important to briefly outline the wider context of these horrific American war crimes. The US is a horrendous serial invader of other countries. The US has invaded 72 countries (52 since WW2) [1-20], has committed 469 invasions from 1798 onwards [6, 7], committed 251 invasions since 1991 [6,7], and has 800 military bases in over 70 countries [8]. The US actively spies on and subverts all countries, deceives and even spies on its most craven ally Australia [21-27], and indeed supplies raw intelligence on Australians to Apartheid Israel [23]. The Whitlam Labor Government (1972-1975) was removed in a UK- and US-backed coup [26, 27]. Wikileaks revealed that several Labor MPs gave insider information about the Labor Government to the US Embassy, and popularly-elected Labor PM Kevin Rudd was removed in a US approved, mining corporation-backed and pro-Zionist-led coup in 2010 [25]. While the US has invaded 72 countries [2], by way of comparison the British have invaded 193 countries, Australia 85, France 82, Germany 39, Japan 30, Russia 25, Canada 25, Apartheid Israel 12 and China 2 [9]. Of 71 genocides and holocausts I have alphabetically tabulated together with associated deaths from violence and deprivation [15, 28-30], America was involved in 36.
With this sobering summary on board we can now proceed to the remarkable and inadvertent confession of US war crimes over the last 75 years by just 3 top US government figures, namely General Curtis LeMay, top US diplomat Madeleine Albright and President Donald Trump.
(1). Curtis LeMay.
Curtis LeMay (1906 –1990) was a US Air Force general who conducted strategic bombing campaign in the Pacific theatre of WW2 , the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force from 1961 to 1965 [31].
General Curtis LeMay stated of North Korea: “Over a period of three years or so we killed off – what – twenty percent of the population” [32]. According to Brian Willson: “After destroying North Korea’s 78 cities and thousands of her villages, and killing countless numbers of her civilians, [General] LeMay remarked, “Over a period of three years or so we killed off – what – twenty percent of the population”.It is now believed that the population north of the imposed 38th Parallel lost nearly a third its population of 8 – 9 million people during the 37-month long “hot” war, 1950 – 1953, perhaps an unprecedented percentage of mortality suffered by one nation due to the belligerence of another” [32-34]. 20% mortality involved the deaths of 1.8 million people, and 30% mortality involved 2.7 million deaths.
In keeping with his deadly results, Le May stated “If you kill enough of them, they stop fighting” and “We should bomb Vietnam back into the stone age” [35]. The 1950-1953 Korean Holocaust and Korean Genocide was associated with 5.2 million deaths from violence and imposed deprivation [4, 15, 28-30]. By way of comparison, eminent Jewish British historian Professor Sir Martin Gilbert (Oxford) estimated that 5-6 million Jews were killed by violence and imposed deprivation in the WW2 Jewish Holocaust [36-38].
(2). Madeleine Albright.
Jewish American Madeleine Albright (1937-2022) served under President Bill Clinton and was US UN Ambassador (1993-1997) and thence US Secretary of State (1997-2001) [39]. Albright was thus complicit in the bombing of Serbia, the deadly Sanctions on Iraq that were associated with 1.7 million Iraqi deaths from imposed deprivation [1, 4, 11, 12, 15-17, 39, 42], and the continuing US-backed Palestinian Genocide and Palestinian Holocaust [42, 43].
On May 12, 1996, Albright defended US-enforced UN sanctions against Iraq on a US “60 Minutes” segment in which anti-racist Jewish American journalist Lesley Stahl asked her “We have heard that half a million children have died. I mean, that’s more children than died in Hiroshima. And, you know, is the price worth it?” and Madeleine Albright replied “We think the price is worth it” [16, 39-41].
The deadly 1990-2003 Sanctions against Iraq were associated with 1.7 million deaths from imposed deprivation and were accompanied by US, UK and Israeli bombing that destroyed vital Iraqi infrastructure. About 0.2 million Iraqis were killed violently in the 1990 onwards Gulf War. Iraqi deaths from violence and deprivation in 1990-2003 totalled 1.9 million. Iraqi deaths in the 2003-2011 Iraq War totalled 2.7 million. In the 2003-2011 Iraq War and Occupation Iraqi deaths from violence (1.5 million) and imposed deprivation (1.2 million) totalled 2.7 million.Iraqi deaths from violence (1.7 million) and war-imposed deprivation (2.9 million) in the period 1990-2011 totalled 4.6 million.Post-Iraq War (2011 onwards) deaths in Iraq from violence and deprivation in the US-led war against Sunni Iraqi ISIS totalled 0.4 million with about 40,000 Iraqis perishing in the US Alliance destruction of Mosul [44-46]. Thus Iraqi deaths from violence and deprivation from 1990 onwards totalled about 5 million [19].
British interest in invading and conquering Iraq came from discovery of oil in adjacent Iran in 1908. Western violation of Iraq commenced with the British invasion a mere 6 years later, in 1914 during WW1 [47-49]. US forces are still in Iraq and the US refuses to leave despite demands from the Iraqi parliament [50]. The Iraqi Holocaust was about oil, hegemony and support for Apartheid Israel [51, 52]. Eminent anti-racist Jewish American scholar Professor Jeffrey Sachs (Columbia): “There were moments where there were disagreements and very, I think, wonderful disagreements, especially in the last time of significance was 2003 in the Iraq war when France and Germany said we don’t support the United States going around the UN Security Council for this war. That war, by the way, was directly concocted by Netanyahu and his colleagues in the US Pentagon. I’m not saying that it was a link or mutuality. I’m saying it was a direct war. That was a war carried out for Israel. It was a war that Paul Wolfowitz and Douglas Feith coordinated with Netanyahu. And that was the last time that Europe had a voice” [52]
(3). Donald Trump.
Donald Trump was the US president in the period January 2017-January 2021 and was US president again from January 2025 onwards [53]. Trump is a pathological liar [54, 55], sexist, anti-science, far right, neoliberal, climate change denialist, Gaza Genocide-complicit war criminal, human rights-violating, fervent supporter of racist Zionism, Apartheid Israel and Apartheid, a bully and barbarian ultra-nationalist billionaire who trashes the best of America and is “master of the Deal”. His destructive violation of the US public service, world-leading US science, freedom of speech and crucial institutions (notably the NOAA, NIH, FAA, Columbia and other US universities, the Justice Department, and USAID) has put a wrecking ball through what the world admired most about America. His crippling of USAID, and withdrawal from the WHO are already having deadly impacts that will actually kill millions each year around the world. Trump’s withdrawal from the Paris Climate Agreement may cripple already feeble global efforts to tackle the existential threat from climate change [56-58]. However as outlined below Trump also represents a third important US official who has confessed to mass killing by America.
Donald Trump in the Oval Office when asked if Palestinians could return to Gaza: “It would be my hope that we could do something really nice, really good where they wouldn’t want to return…If we can build something for them in one of the countries, and it could be Jordan and it could be Egypt, it could be other countries and you could build four or five or six areas.. we could do something where they wouldn’t want to go back” and when asked about how many people: “Everyone. We are talking about probably a million seven (1.7 million) people. Million seven, maybe a million eight. But I think all of them, I think they’ll be resettled in areas where they can live a beautiful life and not be worried about dying every day” [59].
This Trump estimate of as few as “1.7 million” Gazans left in Gaza has been widely reported [59-62]. Similarly the pre-war Gaza population of 2.4 million has been widely reported [63- 67]. Now 2.4 million (pre-war Gaza population) minus 1.7 million (Gazans still alive) equals 0.7 million Gazans “disappeared”. However it is estimated that 0.1 million Gazans had escaped the carnage and managed to find shelter in Egypt [68-70], this indicating a death toll in Gaza of 0.6 million.
As outlined here, Trump’s estimate of “1.7 million Gazans left” leads to an estimate of “0.6 million killed”, this being in agreement with estimates of “about 0.6 million killed by violence and deprivation as of 20 January 2025” as determined by expert epidemiologists, published in the leading medical journal The Lancet and summarized below [71-83].
Reported in great detail in The Lancet, an estimated 64,260 Gazans were violently killed in the first 9 months [71], this indicating 64,260 x 15.5 months/9 months = 110,670 Gazans killed violently by “traumatic injury” (direct deaths) in 15.5 months i.e. in the period from the Breakout from the Gaza Concentration Camp on 7 October 2023 to the Ceasefire on 20 January 2025). Also reported in The Lancet, indirect deaths from imposed deprivation could be 4 times the direct deaths, this suggesting 110,670 x 4 = 442,680 deaths from imposed deprivation and a total of 553,000 direct and indirect Gazan deaths by 20 January 2025 or 23% of the pre-war Gaza population [71]. Because under-5 infant deaths are about 70% of deaths from deprivation in impoverished countries [4] it could be further estimated that the 553,000 deaths included about 393,000 children, 51,000 women and 113,000 men [71].
Western Mainstream media like the BBC and the New York Times reported the upwardly revised estimate of 64,260 Gazans violently killed in the first 9 months [71] but overwhelmingly ignore the 443,000 indirect Gaza deaths from imposed deprivation. They also overwhelmingly ignore the 600,000 deaths implicit (as described above) in Trump’s estimate of “1.7 million” Gazans to be expelled from Gaza. However there are some worthy truth-telling exceptions in addition to myself as recorded below:
(a). Kevin Maimann (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation): “President Donald Trump’s assertion that the U.S. can relocate “1.7 or 1.8 million” Palestinians has raised questions about the death toll in Gaza. Trump made the comments last week while announcing a surprise plan to take over the region, which has been devastated by the Israel-Hamas war that began in October 2023. Gaza’s population was estimated at over 2.2 million before the war, and the Gaza Health Ministry’s official death count sits at 48,297” [60].
(b). Arwa Mahdawi (The Guardian): “While waxing lyrical about his planned crimes against humanity, Trump said “we’re talking about probably 1.7 million, maybe 1.8 million” people in Gaza who would need to be moved. If only reporters at Trump’s press conferences would ask him if he knows exactly how many people are dead, eh? However, it would seem that much of the US press simply aren’t that interested” [61].
(c). Jonathan Cook (Middle East Eye; leading Middle East reporter): “If the US “owns” Gaza, as Trump insists, it will also own Gaza’s territorial waters, where there just happen to be fabulous quantities of untapped gas to enrich the enclave’s new “owner”. Palestinians have, of course, never been allowed to develop their gas fields. Trump may even have let slip inadvertently the true death toll inflicted by Israel’s rampage. He referred to “all of them – there’s 1.7 million or maybe 1.8 million people” being forced out of Gaza. The population count before 7 October 2023 was between 2.2 and 2.3 million. Where are the other half a million Palestinians? Under the rubble? In unmarked graves? Eaten by feral dogs? Vaporised by 2,000lb US bombs?” [62].
(d). Professor Devi Sridhar (eminent epidemiologist, chair, global public health, University of Edinburgh, Scotland, UK) commenting on “1.7 million left”: “I was just surprised that I saw that, and no one even flinched. They were just like, “Oh, OK, 1.7 left.” And I’m like, “So where did the half a million or 400,000 people go?”” [60].
Final comments and conclusions
I recently addressed the following Letterto the editors of major Mainstream Australian media under the Subject heading “urge Aussies to Vote for Humanity by opposing genocide” and copied it to all Australian Federal and Victorian State MPs. In 2025 (likely May) Australians will vote Federally in Australia’s excellent, compulsory and preferential voting system – for a valid vote preferences for all candidates must be listed in numerical order and second preferences are considered if a candidate fails to get 50% or more of the primary vote. LETTER: “Kevin Maimann (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) and Jonathan Cook (Israel-based British writer and doyen of Middle East reporters) have noted the arithmetic implications of Trump’s plan to completely ethnically cleanse Gaza by removing a Trump-asserted “1.7 million” surviving Gazans: 2.4 million (pre-war population) minus 1.7 million (survivors) equals 0.7 million “disappeared”. Because about 0.1 million Gazans found sanctuary in Egypt, this implies a Gaza death toll of 0.6 million. This Trump Administration-based estimate is in agreement with estimates by expert epidemiologists published in the leading medical journal The Lancet of about 0.6 million Gazan deaths by 20 January 2025 from Jewish Israeli-imposed violence (20%) and deprivation (80%). Most of the dead are children and women. Professor Stuart Rees (founder of the prestigious Sydney Peace Prize, author of “Cruelty or Humanity” and recipient of the Jerusalem Al Quds Peace Prize) and like-minded humanitarians urge Aussies to Vote for Humanity by opposing genocide as the key issue of the [likely] May elections. Australian voters must avoid complicity in genocide by putting the Greens or like-minded anti-genocide candidates first, the ICC-rejecting, genocide-complicit and fervently Zionist Coalition last, and cowardly, Zionist-subverted and genocide-complicit Labor in between (cc MPs)” END LETTER. The Silence has been Deafening.
As documented in my huge book “Jane Austen and the Black Hole of British History. Colonial rapacity, holocaust denial and the crisis in biological sustainability” [30], Anglosphere Establishments take great pains to hide their atrocities. Thus Winston Churchill was involved in the 1942-1945 WW2 Bengali Holocaust (6-7 million Indians starved to death for strategic reasons in Bengal, Bihar, Assam and Odisha by the British with food-denying Australian complicity) but made no mention of this atrocity in his 6-volume “The Second World War” for which he was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature [30]. Jump 80 years and the shocking magnitude of the century-long Palestinian Genocide and Palestinian Holocaust (2.7 million Indigenous Palestinian deaths from Zionist-imposed violence, 0.2 million, and deprivation, 2.5 million) is ignored by the Zionist-perverted West. As documented here, the death toll in the continuing Gaza Genocide is similarly subject to a shocking over 10-fold genocide-ignoring diminution by the Zionist-perverted West.
John Stuart Mill in “On Liberty” (1859): “The real advantage which truth has, consists in this, that when an opinion is true, it may be extinguished once, twice, or many times, but in the course of ages there will generally be found persons to rediscover it, until some one of its reappearances falls on a time when from favorable circumstances it escapes persecution until it has made such head as to withstand all subsequent attempts to suppress it” [84]. The truth eventually outs as exampled by the genocide-revealing comments by just 3 genocide-complicit American perpetrators, General Curtis LeMay, US diplomat Madeleine Albright and President Donald Trump. Perhaps there are some more truth-tellers in the Corridors of Power, inadvertent or otherwise.
Racism is repugnant because we had no say in to whom we were born and by whom we were raised. War is the penultimate in racism and genocide the ultimate. The core ethos of decent Humanity is Kindness and Truth. Genocide-ignoring and holocaust-ignoring are far, far worse than repugnant genocide-denial and holocaust-denial because the latter at least permit public refutation and public debate (subject to Establishment gate-keepers of course). The key messages of the WW2 Jewish Holocaust and indeed of all genocide and holocaust atrocities are “zero tolerance for lying”, “zero tolerance for lying”, “bear witness” and “never again to anyone”. Decent Humanity must inform everyone they can about genocidal atrocities and expose and punish the utterly evil perpetrators. Silence is complicity. The World must act to stop the ongoing and horrific Gaza Genocide by urging and applying rigorous Boycotts, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) against genocidally racist Apartheid Israel and all people, politicians, parties, collectives, companies and countries supporting this genocidal rogue state in any way.
