Northern Gaza’s Only Orthopaedic Surgeon Killed by Israeli Drone

Dr Saeed Joda

Gaza (Quds News Network)- A Palestinian doctor was shot and killed by an Israeli drone while traveling in an ambulance between Kamal Adwan and al-Awda hospitals in northern Gaza, which has been under relentless Israeli assault and military siege for 70 days.

Gaza’s Ministry of Health confirmed Dr Saeed Joda, the only orthopaedic specialist in northern Gaza, was shot in the head by an Israeli quadcopter. According to the sources, Joda habitually traveled between the two hospitals due to staff shortages in order to treat patients.

Joda’s 24-year-old son Majd was killed a week ago while trying to rescue his cousins from under the rubble of a house targeted by an Israeli strike in Jabalia refugee camp.

The Israeli military has repeatedly targeted doctors and healthcare workers across Gaza with 1,057 health workers killed since the start of Israel’s genocidal war in Gaza, according to the ministry.

Northern Gaza has been under relentless Israeli assault and complete military siege since October 4, 2024, with no humanitarian aid – medical supplies, water, or life-sustaining resources – available to people there because of the ongoing deliberate prevention by the Israeli military.
