Central government should conduct impartial investigation of Pahalgam incident and bring the truth before the country

Lucknow, 30 April 2025: All India Peoples Front has strongly condemned the FIR registered against poet and folk singer Neha Singh Rathore and Lucknow University professor Madri Kakoti. In the meeting of the National Working Committee of AIPF, the FIR registered against these women has been described as against the fundamental rights of the Constitution. This is a blatant violation of the right to dissent and expression granted by the Constitution. A case has been registered against these two women under Section 152 of the Indian Penal Code, that is, under the section of harming the unity, integrity and sovereignty of the country. This act of the government is not auspicious for democracy. AIPF has demanded that the cases filed against Neha Singh Rathore and Professor Madri Kakoti be immediately withdrawn and the ongoing actions of spreading terror should be stopped.

AIPF has said in its resolution that Home Minister Amit Shah himself has accepted the security lapse in the tragic incident of Pahalgam in the all-party meeting of the Central Government. It is worth mentioning that not a single security personnel was present at this tourist spot of Pahalgam at the time of the incident. In such a situation, the Central Government and BJP should explain how raising questions on this serious security lapse has become a crime. The resolution states that the Government of India should get the Pahalgam incident investigated by independent and impartial agencies and bring its truth in front of the country and the world, which will strengthen India’s stand but it is not ready for this. At the same time, it is bent on suppressing the citizens who question it.
