For you, Amma,
Whatever you gave, you did for us-
With endless love, without a fuss.
Your hands held dreams, your heart gave light,
A guiding star through every night.
My mother gave me life, a seed in spring,
Nurtured with sun and rain, made my spirit sing.
She fed me like the earth feeds the blooming tree,
With love as wide as the endless sea.
She held me softly in her hands so small,
A steady rock when shadows fall.
She added balance, like the moon’s soft light,
Guiding my steps through darkest night.
She stood back after me, when times were tough,
Pushed me up gently, when life was rough.
With unconditional love, compassionate and true,
A quiet strength that always grew.
She taught me to walk-like rivers flow,
To read, to write, to learn and grow.
She never sought her own gentle rain,
Yet watered others through joy and pain.
In her arms, the strength of ancient hills,
Her whispered lullabies, soft as daffodils.
A harbor safe, a forest deep,
Where love grows wild and roots run deep.
She prayed for me at dawn’s first light,
A sacred glow that warms the night.
Still she is the same, steadfast and true,
A shining star in skies of blue.
She taught me to honor all that breathes,
The rustling leaves, the buzzing bees.
Her heart, a sun that never tires,
Burning bright with endless fires.
She gave me all-the earth, the sky,
The gentle breeze, the lullaby.
No crown she wears, yet queen she stands,
With open arms and giving hands.
Thank you, Mom, for all you gave,
For love that taught me how to be brave.
I wish to be your son always,
Bound by love through all my days.
On this day, a gentle song,
To all mothers, brave and strong.
May your hearts be filled with light,
Your love a beacon burning bright.
Thank you for your endless care,
Your whispered prayers, your tender prayer.
Happy Mother’s Day, we say,
You are the heart of every day.
