Let the Tortured Soul in Hell of that Enigma Called Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, Rest in Peace

Mr Pankaj Phadnis, I am 86 yrs old and have researched on the self-styled “Veer” Savarkar for double the years that you have, (As stated in your petition to the HSCI).

It is axiomatic that your ill-conceived petiton to immortalise the poster boy of Hindutva; the Proverbial “Judas”, who boot licked and sold his Country for a monthly largesse of 60 pieces of coins, to the Professional Looters of our Country, who, over a span of 200 yrs, converted our Country from one of the richest in the World to one of its poorest; the pro-British, (Who, in cold blood, reportedly massacred 1500 at Jalianwala baag), conspirer against the Freedom Struggle of our Mother Land, “Bharat”, has been thrown out of their precinct by the HSCI on a day so very “Hallowed” to you all.

That Vinayak Damodar, (Veer), Savarkar was the “Epitome of Cowardice”, and a traitor to the cause of India, needs no proof to any one but the most ignorant of illiterate and blind Brigade of “Sanghis” like you.

In 1926, five yrs after his transfer from Andamans to the Ratnagiri Jail, and two yrs after his release from the latter jail, a book, “Life of Barrister Savarkar”, under the pseudonym “Chitragupt” was published. Even a “Dodo” could have classified it as an autobiography.

It is in this book, that, for the first time, Savarkar called himself “Veer”, by prefixing that word to his name.

It is quite evident that a pseudonym was initially used by him, just so that he could make his readers and members of the Hindutva Brigade, (He had already become a member of Hindu Mahasabha), believe that their countrymates were calling him “Veer”. Once the use of the prefix “Veer” caught on a bit, Savarkar corrected the authorship of the book, in a later edition of the book.

The fact that he initially used the pseudonym instead of his own name, clearly reveals his cunning/conniving mind and utter cowardice.

On release from the Ratnagiri Jail On 6 January 1924, Vinayak was restricted to Ratnagiri District till 1937. The British bestowed on him a bungalow as his residence as well as a monthly stipend of Rs 60/-, which continued till India’s independence. He was allowed unrestricted access by visitors to his Bungalow. This is where, in 1929, he first met a 19 yrs old Nathuram Godse, a member of RSS and Gandhi’s assassin.
