In an era where fascist forces exploit religion for power while systemic injustices persist, a critical question arises: Can the quest for social justice coexist with spirituality? This webinar explores how spirituality—divorced from dogma—can fuel transformative action for equity and ecological survival.
From the late Pope Francis’ fusion of faith with advocacy for Palestine and climate justice, to Indigenous movements defending sacred lands through “ecological spirituality,” we witness a powerful convergence of the material and the transcendent. These examples defy the false binary between spiritual pursuits and justice struggles, revealing how reverence for life can inspire resistance against oppression.
This dialogue invites scholars, activists, and grassroots leaders to rethink spirituality as a force that animates—not escapes—the fight for a just world. By bridging the sacred and the systemic, we can forge a path where dignity, ecology, and liberation intertwine.
