IPSN is outraged at Zionist Israel’s continued blockade of Gaza, starving the people of Gaza, particularly the children who are on the brink of death. The Freedom Flotilla – Madleen – that had set out to deliver aid (carrying supplies such as baby formula, flour, diapers, medical kits, and children’s prosthetics) for Gaza was intercepted and the humanitarian aid activists were abducted by Israel yesterday.
While we salute the activists for the courage they have displayed in the face of grave danger to their lives, and that they persisted in their efforts to reach Gaza, these moves must – more than ever before – be augmented by substantive political action. Of course, there have been strong campaigns against Israel by the people the world over and, despite repression in many countries they have been relentlessly carrying on, it is mainly the USA and European nations who are aiding and abetting Israel to commit its crimes with impunity. We also welcome the humongous effort by the international community to call for #MarchToGaza. They are assembling at Rafah by 15 June 2025 for their onward journey. We wish them all success.
IPSN, therefore, calls for
- Release of all abducted activists without delay.
- End the siege of Gaza – no blockading of aid (food, water, medicine) for the Gazans.
- Ceasefire now, stop the genocide.
We also call upon all the countries to end their trade with Israel, particularly defence deals. India had been a strong supporter of Palestine and their movement for self determination; we are anguished that the present political dispensation is in league with the USA and Israel. We call upon our government to break all ties with the settler-colonial government of Israel forthwith.
We call upon our fellow citizens to join the campaign for the liberation of Palestine in any way you can – lobbying, advocacy, mass street protests, making it impossible for the government to continue to relate to Israel.
We salute the resilient people of Palestine who are suffering the wrath of imperialism.
