The Zameen Prapt Sangharsh Commitee on November 15th staged a spirited day long dharna outside the district collectors office in Patiala, of around 600 persons from around 24 villages.Zonal leader Gurvinder Singh Bauda and Dharmveer Harigadh.With intensity at a highest pitch the dalit agricultural labourers it blocked the gates of the DC office.
The ZPSC pledged to fight to the end for issues like I/3rd Panchayat land for dalit families, allocating of plots, distribution of Nazrul land on 30 year lease, minimum of hundred days work for all agricultural labourers, Implementation of MANREGA Scheme, Minimum of Rs 700 as a daily wage, scrapping of dummy auctioning of land, awarding 5 marlas of land to every dalit family etc.It resolved that if the demands were not met the protest would be intensified.
Leaders narrated how the ruling Aam Admi party failed comply with the demands promised .The agricultural workers opened the gates of the DC office and relentlessly persisted in protesting all night. A meeting has been arranged with DCM Vijay Singh at 3 ‘o clock, where a memorandum will be submitted.
