The People must get a share of the National Income

Recommendations of the All-India Peoples Front’s workers meeting held on 12 May at Sonbhadra (U.P.) to discuss the Lok Sabha Election Agenda -2024

It is very important for people to get a share in the national income. Only through this poverty of the people can be eliminated and purchasing power can also increase. Presently the per capita income of the country is one lakh seventy thousand rupees per year but people do not even get this money. A large part of the country’s population survives on less than Rs 10,000 per month. Whereas the country’s treasury is filled by the taxes of the public. In fact, a large part of the national income is being appropriated by the corporate houses. The state’s control over capital has ended and the Modi government has handed over the country’s natural resources and public assets to corporate houses. The present BJP government has caused huge damage to the economic sovereignty of the Republic of India. Therefore, it is a national responsibility that the Bharatiya Janata Party, which has enslaved the country economically, should be defeated in this Lok Sabha election. Akhilendra Pratap Singh, founding member of All India People’s Front, said these things in the workers’ meeting organized at Gayatri Lodge (Sonbhadra) on the agenda of Lok Sabha elections. He said that resources can be collected for public welfare schemes by imposing wealth tax and inheritance tax on corporate houses. If this tax is imposed on the big capital houses of the country, then rights like employment, education, health, old age pension and housing can be guaranteed to every citizen of the country. Opposition parties will also have to strongly raise the issue of imposing tax on corporates for the betterment of people’s lives.

He said that Bharatiya Janata Party and RSS have worked to destroy the spirit of friendship that has been built in our country for thousands of years. Today the peace and brotherhood of the entire society has been destroyed and people are living in an atmosphere of tension. Today Indianness has stood against the divisive policies of BJP and RSS and people want to answer their deeds by defeating them. He said that there has been a massive attack on democracy and an attempt has been made to crush the voice of dissent by the Bharatiya Janata Party government. People are being kept in jail for years under black laws like UAPA. Barbaric repression is taking place through bulldozing and confiscation of property and the country has turned into a prison. Therefore, there is a need to protect democracy today.

Addressing the meeting, Sarvodayi Gandhian activist Arvind Anjum said that to save democracy it is necessary to defeat BJP but at the same time public issues will also have to be raised strongly.
