A total of 18,000 Israeli women can now carry guns as approved by the authorities and as they go about their daily business in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories.
The latest figure is trending on the social media. Since 7 October 2023, the number of Israeli women applying for a license shot up to 42,000.
And therefore, the number of those granted gun licenses carried by Israeli women has tripled their pre-7 October number.
More than 15,000 Israeli settler women in the West Bank now carry guns and the number being trained to carry firearms stands at 10,000.
The surge in weapons permits was allowed by National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir as he loosened Israel’s gun laws.
