They’re already here!
Being a baby boomer this writer has consistently looked at those who lead us as mostly ‘ Clowns’. This goes in spades for those who run our corporations. Ever hear these folks speak? If that isn’t indicative of inviting laughter, I don’t know what is. We are surrounded by clowns… anywhere and everywhere we look. How about the clowns, facing the cameras or microphones, that do the bidding for the Super Rich who control our media? They will hype the Big Pharma, Big Insurance, Big food companies and of course the War Industries. Don’t forget how our media clowns bow and scrape for anything military, from the fruit salad wearing Pentagon royalty to the poor slob grunts sent into phony war zones. They, along with our ‘ Bought and paid for’ Congress and administration, will lower their heads to honor ‘ Israel under attack’ and call for more money and arms for them. Oh, and they sigh as they inform us how many Palestinians and their Gaza infrastructure ( including hospitals) have been destroyed by our Israeli ally.
Look at the clowns now running for President. One clown, the dangerous Donnie Boy, loses his humorous appeal by the company he keeps: Dangerous fascist entities. How sad when so many working stiff Americans march to his drumbeat down the road to their financial destruction. The other Republican clowns, parroting some Middle School food fight election, compete to be as fascist as Trump while kneeling at the altar of the Corporate Gods. Skip over to the clown show at the White House, with all their media minions. Joe Biden, who sadly needs to be pensioned off , was always the clown he now reveals himself to be. Portraying himself as America’s ‘ Union President’ Biden has never supported a damn piece of major progressive legislation to help working stiffs. Never! As with Trump and all the Republicans, Biden has forever danced to the War Industries’ tune from Vietnam onward. Yet, due to the outright fascist vigor of the party opposite, Biden is the quintessential ‘ Lesser of two evils’, unless you are a Palestinian or Russian American.
I channel surfed last evening and landed on MSNBC, that great Democratic Party sounding board. Who did I find on Jen Psaki’s show? None other than that great war mongering ( since Vietnam) onetime public servant John Bolton! Because he now hates Trump MSNBC and CNN keep putting this pro war maniac on. Bolton has advocated missile attacks on Iran; supported the Bush/Cheney Cabal’s phony, illegal and immoral war on Iraq; supported Hillary Clinton’s carpet bombing of Libya ( Obama finally admitted that he should have never followed her insistence on this); Favoring Israel’s ethnic cleansing of Palestine… for decades; increased military spending up the kazoo and so many other Neo Con philosophies, like exiting the International Criminal Court. Oh, on the subject of the Vietnam war which Bolton aggressively promoted while in college, he remarked that ” I joined the National Guard because I did not like the way the war was being executed.”
For us sports fans out there look at the ‘ Clown Show’ of sports talk shows. All these so called ‘ Sports journalists’ actually celebrate the mega millions being tossed at pro athletes by their billionaire owners. You have guys now earning hundreds of millions of dollars while the owners rake in billions along with the media. And who subsidizes this? YOU, the working stiff fan who buys the tickets, pays for the cable packages and of course all the licensed merchandise, so little Johnny can wear his favorite team’s jersey to school. Imagine that, in my baby boomer youth, pro sports players had to find jobs during the off season to support themselves and their families. Now, fans need to find a 2nd income to pay for all this crap! Isn’t it time that the city a team represents should own its team? To be really progressive, how about a real ‘ Wealth Tax’ whereupon 50% of all income above $2 million a year, with NO deductions, goes back equally to the citizens of this nation as a ‘ Universal Basic Income’? Only a clown would not support that.
