Open Letter to all the Constituent Parties of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (I.N.D.I.A)

INDIA Alliance

As per current information, the Election Commission of India (ECI) will declare the results of the on-going Lok Sabha elections on 04.06.2024. This will constitute the 18th Lok Sabha of our Republic.

Even though only two Phases of the 7-Phase elections are over, already ‘predictions’ are circulating in the social media. Some predict that BJP-led NDA will win a majority, and others show that I.N.D.I.A will win. However, the outcome will be known only on 4th June.

Thus, the President of India may call upon either BJP-led NDA or I.N.D.I.A, to form the Government.

Regardless of the final outcome of the 18th Lok Sabha elections, that is, whether I.N.D.I.A forms government or sits in the Opposition, we the undersigned, not being members of any political party, wish to express some urgent concerns to all the constituent Parties of the I.N.D.I.A Alliance, and recommend as follows:

#1. Resolve the political differences between and among the constituent Parties, so that the I.N.D.I.A Alliance can work and act unitedly both within Parliament and outside, in the best interest of their electors, and of our Republic.

#2. Take all measures to ensure that elected Members of the I.N.D.I.A Alliance to the 18th Lok Sabha, successfully resist inducements to change their political loyalties, because such acts will be an insult to the citizens who have elected them.

#3. Every constituent Party of the I.N.D.I.A Alliance liaises with and cooperates with on-the-ground People’s Movements in the regions of their political influence, so as to consolidate and expand their electoral bases.

#4. Every constituent Party of the I.N.D.I.A Alliance may consider initiating measures for demonstrable intra-Party democracy, so that their own cadres, their electors and the general public, have increased confidence in democratic political processes.

Yours sincerely,
