Three civilians including a teenage girl were killed allegedly in government forces action during clashes in Redwani area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Saturday.

A senior police officer told news agency GNS that army’s patrolling party opened fire upon a group of youth after they pelted stones on them in Hawoora area of Khudwani near Redwani area.

The deceased have been identified as Shakir Ahmad Khanday (22), Irshad Majeed (20) and a 16-year-old girl, Andleeb.

In the incident six persons suffered injuries.

Mobile internet services have been suspended in south Kashmir districts of Kulgam, Shopian, Anantnag and Pulwama since clashes broke out. Authorities have also imposed restrictions on several parts of Kashmir ahead of the second death anniversary of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani.
