War crimes are indefensible and war criminals must be punished to make the world safe for decent Humanity. Particularly awful crimes are the mass murder of prisoners by their captors. “People killed per day per million of relevant prisoner population” was 22.9 (Japanese killing of Australian prisoners of war in WW2) versus for Jewish Israeli killing of Palestinians in the Gaza Concentration Camp 86.2 (total population), 132.3 (men), 66.7 (children), and 76.3 (women).
“People killed per day per million of relevant prisoner population” gives a good comparative measure of the evil daily intensity of the perpetrators involved in these atrocities. It also normalizes the data in relation to the relevant prisoner populations being violated, whether total Australian prisoners of war (POWs) of the Japanese in WW2 or total, men, women and child populations in the Gaza Concentration Camp in the present and ongoing Gaza Massacre and Gaza Genocide.
To illustrate the methodology, one can consider that the 34,000 Australians who died serving in WW2 [1] included 8,031 killed out of the 22,376 Australian POWs held by the Japanese from 15 February 1942 to 12 September 1945 (15,706 days) [2]. “People killed per day per million of POW population” = (8,031 killed x 1,000,000) / (22,376 total POW population x 15,706 days) = 22.9.
Likewise, as of 13 May 2024 (Day 220 of the present Gaza Massacre) Israel has killed 43,640 Palestinians in Gaza (this including 17,287 men, 15,971 children, and 10,382 women [3] out of a population of 2.3 million including 1,087,900 children [4], 1,212,100 adults, 618,171 women, and 593,929 men. “People killed per day per million of total Gaza population” = (43,640 killed x 1,000,000) / (2,300,000 total Gaza population x 220 days) = 86.2.
Thus “People killed per day per million of relevant Gaza population” is presently 86.2 (for the total population), 132.3 (adult male population), 66.7 (child population), and 76.3 (adult female population) or 3 to 6 times greater than the 22.9 for the utterly awful killing of Australian prisoners of war by the Japanese in WW2.
The mass murder of European Allied prisoners of war by the Japanese in WW2 is etched into the consciousness of Anglosphere countries, notably the US, UK, Australia, Canada and New Zealand through the images of the half-starved, skeletal survivors, POW testimonies, war crimes trials [5], movies such as “A Town Like Alice” (1956), “The Bridge on the River Kwai” (1957), and “Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence” (1983), and numerous non-fiction and fiction books. Indeed as recently as 2014 famed Tasmanian writer Richard Flanagan’s searing description of the horrors of the Burma Railway in the novel “The Narrow Road to the Deep North” was awarded the prestigious Man Booker Prize for fiction.
However the Anglosphere has a moral blind-spot when it comes to atrocities perpetrated against non-European prisoners (Subjects) of European and indeed Japanese colonialism and imperialism. Thus everyone is rightly well aware of the WW2 Jewish Holocaust (5-6 million Jews killed through violence or imposed deprivation by the Nazi Germans) [6-8] but very few people in the globally-dominant Anglosphere are aware of the “forgotten” WW2 Bengali Holocaust (WW2 Indian Holocaust, WW2 Bengal Famine; 6-7 million Indians deliberately starved to death for strategic reasons in Bengal, Bihar, Assam and Odisha by the British with food-denying Australian complicity) [6, 9-19]. Indeed while the genocidally racist Zionists and the all-European and mostly US Alliance International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) refers to the WW2 Jewish Holocaust as “The Holocaust” (to the exclusion of the horrific WW2 Polish, Soviet, European, Chinese and Indian Holocausts and indeed some 70 genocides and holocausts ) [13, 20-23], the first WW2 atrocity to be described as a holocaust was the WW2 Bengali Holocaust described as such by N.G. Jog in his 1944 book “Churchill’s Blind-Spot: India” [25].
80 years ago the British commenced “disappearing” the WW2 Bengali Holocaust by extraordinary censorship and self-censorship. Thus there is no mention of this horrific atrocity in the perpetrator Winston Churchill’s monumental 6 volume work “The Second World War” for which he was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature. Instead, in this work (volume IV, p181) Churchill opined: “No great portion of the world population was so effectively protected from the horrors and perils of the World War as were the people of Hindustan. They were carried through the struggle on the shoulders of our small Island”. Come the Korean War (1950-1953), unsighted by journalists US bombing destroyed every building and killed 28% of the North Korean population [24] but today an ignorant and racist US Alliance still imposes crippling sanctions on a hungry North Korea. Indeed the sangfroid Americans turned the Korean War atrocity into a TV comedy smash hit “MASH”.
Subsequently the horrors of the Vietnam War were exposed to increasingly indignant US audiences by journalism, film, and photography as exampled by the game-changing image of the “burning girl” Phan Thị Kim Phúc fleeing an American napalm attack [26]. Come the genocidal Iraq War (5 million deaths from violence and deprivation), the Afghan War (7 million such deaths) and the “War on Terror” in general (32 million deaths), the American military had learned their lessons and embedded journalists with the military to avoid the public seeing images of mangled and burning children. Utterly ignored by the genocide-complicit West, as estimated in 2015 the carnage in the War on Terror has involved 32 million Muslim deaths from violence, 5 million, and imposed deprivation, 27 million, in 20 countries invaded by the US Alliance since the US Government’s 9/11 false flag atrocity [27, 28]. Medical experts report 5 million Iraqi orphans [29] and with an average of 3 children per family this means (5.0 million x 2)/3 = 3.3 million dead Iraq parents alone (the child-killing US still refuses to leave Iraq). The carnage is ignored by the morally degenerate West that, for example, dismisses the Iraq War merely as a “mistake” .
However social media and the ubiquitous mobile phone have now brought the heart-wrenching carnage of mass murder and the Gaza Genocide into every Western home on a daily basis for over 7 months. Just as shocking media reports and images moved the American people and thence the voter-sensitive politicians to bring an end to the Vietnam War, one hopes that if properly informed, decent people in the West will simply no longer tolerate this unforgivable but ongoing Jewish Israeli mass murder of children, mothers, women and men in the Gaza Concentration Camp that is supported by the Zionist-subverted and Zionist-perverted US and US Alliance political establishments.
Unfortunately politics in the West are dominated by Zionist-perverted political duopolies as exampled by the US Republican/Democrat, UK Conservative /Labour and Australian Coalition/Labor duopolies that, while differing marginally on economic things such as the “social safety net”, have a common policy of fervent support for Apartheid Israel that should be utterly unacceptable to decent people. Politicians of duopolies like the US, Australian and UK duopolies fervently supporting Apartheid Israel and hence the vile crime of Apartheid are utterly unfit for decent human company, public life and public office in equal-human- rights-for-all and one-person-one-vote democracies. The message is clear: decent voters must vote to remove the Zionist-perverted and pro-Apartheid duopolies from public life.
In non-compulsory, first-past-the-post democracies like the US and the UK, decent anti-Apartheid voters simply cannot vote for the pro-Apartheid duopoly parties and will be forced to vote for decent Third Parties (e.g. Greens and Socialists or even ruthless neoliberal economic conservatives who are nevertheless opposed to the mass murder of children).
In contrast, Australia has a compulsory preferential voting system – voters must list all candidates numerically in order of preference. If a candidate fails to gain 50% of the vote then second preferences are taken into account. In the last election (May 2022) the Australian Labor Party was elected mostly on the basis of Greens second preferences. While the Labor Party has some sympathy for the Palestinians, the actual Labor Government is fervently pro-Apartheid Israel and is shockingly complicit in the Gaza Genocide in 20 ways [30]. Indeed only 1 Labor MP has broken ranks to condemn the Jewish Israeli genocide in Gaza, namely hijab-wearing Muslim Afghan Australian Senator Fatima Payman [31].
In my view an appropriate strategy for the run-up to the next Australian Federal election (mid-2025) would be to put Labor last [32, 33]. However the Right-Far Right Coalition Opposition is so unspeakably awful that many decent folk would be compelled to put the even more fanatically pro-Apartheid Israel Coalition last. This might make people feel good but is a strategic mistake. Labor is actually in government, is complicit in the Gaza Genocide in 20 ways [30], and must be punished for its vile moral degeneracy [30]. In contrast the Coalition Opposition is not in government and is presently, unlike the Labor Government, not actually violating Article 3 of the UN Genocide Convention which punishes genocide crimes including “genocide complicity”. By way of analogy, person X would be arraigned for actually committing murder but person Y would not be punished for simply wishing to do so.
Of course for progressive and humane Australians, putting Labor last goes against the grain. Labor legitimately claims to be more altruistic and kinder to the disadvantaged than the ruthlessly neoliberal, anti-science and pro-war Coalition but its performance in government doesn’t match its rhetoric. Thus, while the pro-war Coalition has supported all post-1950 US Asian wars (atrocities in which 40 million Asians perished through violence and war-imposed deprivation), Labor has supported all but the Vietnam War and the Iraq War [34]. The world is existentially threated by climate change and nuclear weapons [35] but while the Labor Party wants action on climate change and has voted for Australia to sign and ratify the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW), Labor in government is flagrantly climate criminal (backing massive gas exploitation even after 2050) and refuses to sign the TPNW. On a personal note, I voted Labor 1 most of my life , only shifting to Greens 1 and Labor 2 a dozen years ago because of Labor Government climate criminality.
In general, “Governments lie” and such critical betrayals are de rigeur for Western democracies, which indeed is why a catastrophic plus 2 degrees Centigrade of global warming is now inevitable in the next decade or so [35]. However the continuing mass murder of Palestinian children in Gaza (16,000 killed in 220 days so far) [3] is an immediate, inescapable and inviolable moral line in the sand that simply cannot be crossed. The Australian [30], US, US-backed Apartheid Israeli, and neo-Nazi German Governments [36] are directly complicit in the mass murder of 16,000 children in Gaza (so far) by neo-Nazi Jewish Israelis, have accordingly utterly violated a fundamental law of Humanity, and simply cannot be supported in any way by decent people. The mass murder of 16,000 children is not just unforgivably evil but inaction in the face of this ongoing evil is also evil and threatens all of Humanity, all of us.
The Global South gets it, Arab, Muslim and young voters in the Global North get it, and there is now a growing backlash against Western politicians complicit in the Gaza Genocide [37]. In the US child-killing geriatric Joe Biden faces defeat because many Palestinian, Arab, Muslim, anti-racist Jewish (Not In My Name) and young American voters (Not In Our Name) will simply stay home on election day. In the pro-Apartheid UK Labour has lost the significant Muslim vote and the likely new pro-Apartheid Israel and hence Gaza Genocide-complicit Sir Keir Starmer-led Labour Government will be forever horribly tarnished like its racist and war criminal predecessors (notably the notoriously Iraqi Genocide-complicit Blair Labour Government). Jeremy Corbyn (the most anti-racist UK Labour leader ever but expelled from the Labour Party by traitorous, lying, racist and pro-Apartheid Zionists) is standing as an Independent. In pro-Apartheid Australia it is likely that pro-Apartheid and Gaza Genocide-complicit Labor [30] will be defeated if Palestinian, Arab, Muslim, anti-racist Jewish (Not In My Name) and young (Not In Our Name) voters choose not to be complicit in the Gaza Genocide and mass murder of Palestinian children by putting Labor last.
Final comments and conclusions.
At the heart of the problem of morally degenerate Western silence and inaction in the face of Jewish Israeli mass murder of 16,000 Palestinian children is Zionist subversion and perversion resulting in massive lying by omission and commission by the Western Mainstream. Peace is the only way but silence kills and silence is complicity. For 30 years I have been researching and writing about horrific genocidal atrocities inflicted by the US and the US Alliance on the Global South over the last 80 years (i.e. within living memory) but which have been whitewashed by successive generations of Kindness- and Truth-violating, racist and mendacious Western Mainstream journalist, editor, politician, academic and commentariat presstitutes [10, 11, 13, 34-42]. Yet what I have written in my humanitarian truth-telling in 9 huge books (equivalent in total thickness to 3 times that of my copy of “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare” [43]) has in effect been utterly ignored by the racist, mendacious and indeed Orwellian Western Mainstream that makes truth fiction just as Big Brother in George Orwell’s “1984” asserted that “slavery is freedom”, “ignorance is truth”, “war is peace” and “2 plus 2 does not equal 4”.
This genocide-complicit Mainstream lying by omission is well illustrated by the fate of the following Letters I recently sent to 9 major Australian media. The Silence has been Deafening, and these unpublished Letters simply serve to illustrate what Zionist-perverted Mainstream Australian media and duopoly politicians don’t want Australians to know about or think about:
LETTER (16 May 2024). “As of 23 April 2024 and including those dead under the rubble, Palestinians killed in the Gaza Genocide totalled 43,000 including 16,000 children and 10,000 women. As of mid-May 2024, after over 7 months of mass murder of Indigenous Palestinians in Gaza, the only Australian MPs to have voted in Federal Parliament for an immediate and permanent Ceasefire are 15 Greens, ex-Green Senator Lidia Thorpe, and Independents Dr Helen Haines and Andrew Wilkie – a mere 18 out of a total of 227 Federal MPs (76 Senators and 151 Members of the House of Representatives). Shame Australia, shame. Labor Senator Fatima Payman’s powerful humanitarian statements against the Jewish Israeli-imposed genocide in Gaza mean that there are now 19 MPs that decent, anti-racist Jewish and non-Jewish Australian voters can vote 1 for. The genocide-complicit, pro-Apartheid Israel and hence pro-Apartheid Labor-Coalition duopoly and its fellow travellers are utterly unfit for public life and public office in a one-person-one-vote and equal human rights democracy like Australia. One senses that the utterly unspeakable awfulness of the continuing, Jewish Israeli-imposed Gaza Genocide and mass murder of children and mothers is now shifting Western attitudes to Apartheid Israel. Spain, Ireland and Norway have broken ranks and will now recognize the State of Palestine, with more Western states likely to follow. The International Court of Justice (ICJ) has ordered Apartheid Israel to stop the genocidal attack on Rafah and the International Criminal Court (ICC) has applied for arrest warrants for Israeli war criminals Benjamin Netanyahu and Yoav Gallant (albeit moves hysterically and falsely condemned and rejected by child-killing Apartheid Israel and its US backers). According to Australian law firm Birchgrove Legal: “Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has been referred to the International Criminal Court as an accessory to genocide in Gaza, making him the first leader of a Western nation to be referred to the ICC under Article 15 of the Rome Statute. A team of Australian lawyers from Birchgrove Legal, led by King’s Counsel Sheryn Omeri, have spent months documenting the alleged complicity and outlining the individual criminal responsibility of Mr Albanese in respect to the situation in Palestine. The 92-page document, which has been endorsed by more than one hundred Australian lawyers and barristers, was yesterday submitted to the Office of ICC Prosecutor, Karim Khan KC” [44] (indeed I made a detailed complaint to the ICC over the Palestinian Genocide and other genocides in 2010 [45]).
For decent people enough is enough. 16,000 children killed so far by neo-Nazi Apartheid Israel demands urgent, united and implacable World action such as the Boycotts and Sanctions successfully applied to Apartheid South Africa after the 1960 Sharpeville Massacre in which 69 Africans were killed. The World must rigorously adhere to the core ethos of Kindness and Truth, adopt rigorous intolerance of the genocidal racism and egregious mendacity of Zionazi-run and neo-Nazi Apartheid Israel and its supporters, and apply Boycotts, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) against Apartheid Israel and against all people, parties, corporations and countries supporting this unforgivably child-killing and genocidal neo-Nazi rogue state.

Dr Gideon Polya taught science students at La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia over 4 decades. He published some 130 works in a 5 decade scientific career, notably a huge pharmacological reference text “Biochemical Targets of Plant Bioactive Compounds” (2003).
