Dear Dr Sukhbir Singh Sandhu, S/Shri Gyanesh Kumar/ Rajiv Kumar,

Please refer to PM’s speech in connection with “Surya Tilak” at Ayodhya Mandir, broadcast widely (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VlGGtxh2ELY). He drew the attention of the voters at a rally to the “historic” Surya Tilak (https://www.indiatoday.in/india/story/how-pm-modi-in-assam-celebrated-moment-of-ram-lallas-surya-tilak-2528266-2024-04-17)
Does it violate the Model Code of Conduct (MCC)?

I had earlier made similar complaints to the Commission but you have inexplicably stonewalled the same.
Would the Commission choose to ignore this as usual, or consider it appropriate to act for once?
The three of you need to question yourselves, as you are accountable to Article 324 and the public at large.

Regards,

Yours sincerely,

E A S Sarma

Former Secretary to the Government of India

Visakhapatnam
