Most Australians have rightly welcomed the return to Australia of Australian and world hero and journalist  Julian Assange from 12 years of incarceration in London  for the asserted crime of truth telling about US and US Alliance war crimes. However non-specific mention of US war crimes and the much-shown video of the US Apache helicopter atrocity aside, there is shocking Western media silence over the actual horrendous extent of the Iraqi Genocide and the Afghan Genocide.

There is no limit to the mendacity of Western Mainstream journalist, editor, politician, academic and commentariat presstitutes, and Mainstream  coverage  of the return of Julian Assange is no exception. The Western Mainstream media coverage I have seen refers to Julian Assange’s exposure of US war crimes and the Baghdad Apache helicopter atrocity in particular, but that is as far as they are prepared to go. The rest is silence. The horrific US-imposed post-9/11 Muslim Holocaust and Muslim Genocide and the  Iraqi Holocaust and Afghan Holocaust in particular are resolutely ignored by racist and mendacious Western media [1-7].

At the outset we must be clear about what our hero and the world’s most famous journalist did to so upset the serial war criminal Americans and their Western allies to the extent that he was punished by 12 years of awful incarceration in London and threatened with life imprisonment and death in the notoriously evil and corrupt US justice system. As a journalist and publisher Julian Assange had invaded the sanctum of US secrets – it was crucially this per se that upset the lying Americans because, like their Western allies and pathologically mendacious and child-killing neo-Nazi Apartheid Israel,  they have so much to lie about, from who actually did 9/11 [8] to the details of the millions of people they killed in the subsequent War on Terror. [7].

These Elephant in the Room realities connected with the awful persecution and incarceration of Julian Assange are systematically exposed below (they will of course be resolutely ignored by Zionist-perverted and US Government-beholden Western Mainstream presstitutes despite Julian Assange being on page 1).

(1). Governments lie, Americans lie, and massive Western and US Government secrecy is egregious lying by omission.

Famed Jewish Hungarian American mathematician George Pólya (a pacifist and my wonderful and inspiring great uncle) wrote a best-selling book (in press since 1945 and translated into numerous languages) called “How to Solve It” [9] in which the first step was to understand the problem. Famed anti-racist Jewish American journalist I.F. Stone (“The Hidden History of the Korean War”[10]) succinctly stated the key problem in politics: “Governments lie” [11, 12].  More recently Greta Thunberg succinctly and powerfully addressed Establishment lying over the existential threat from climate change thus: “How dare you!” and “Blah, blah , blah!” Lying occurs in 2 repugnant forms, lying by commission and lying by omission. Lying by omission is far, far worse than repugnant lying by commission because the latter at least permits public refutation and public debate [13]. Lying in all its forms, including fake news through lying by omission [14], is repugnant because at its most fundamental it short circuits science-based attempts to understand reality in the interests of fellow humans [15], and indeed the key ethos of decent Humanity is Kindness and Truth. 

However famed American writer Gore Vidal: “Unlike most Americans who lie all the time, I hate lying… Americans are not interested in the truth about anything. They assume everybody is lying because they go out and lie everyday about the automobile they are trying to sell you” [11, 12]. Professors Edward Herman and Noam Chomsky in their seminal book “Manufacturing Consent” detailed how US Mainstream media massively lie in the interests  of the US Establishment [16]. Today America is awash with lying of all kinds. Indeed President Donald Trump told 30,000 lies during his administration [17] and his bald and continuous lying (30 lies in 90 minutes) successfully dominated his recent debate with a fragile, hobbling, mumbling, hesitant and variously incoherent but non-mendacious President Joe Biden (nevertheless a child-killing geriatric for supplying the bombs destroying Gaza).

It must be noted that Zionist domination of America commenced in a huge way in about 1967 after Apartheid Israel seized  all of Palestine plus territory of all its neighbours and had acquired nuclear weapons. Today Apartheid Israel is the Zionist tail that wags the American dog. Indeed 30% of Joe Biden’s Cabinet are Jewish Zionists (although Jews are only 2% of the US population) and the remainder are “moderate” Christian Zionists  (unlike the anti-science, creationist, and Biblical literalist Christian Zionist fanatics who back Trump) [18]. While numerous anti-racist  Jewish intellectuals are resolutely  critical of Apartheid Israel and its ongoing Palestinian Genocide, Western Mainstream Media variously censor  or white-wash  the nuclear terrorist, genocidally racist, and grossly human rights-abusing conduct of Apartheid Israel. A part  explanation for this huge moral discrepancy is that the American 60% of the world’s 30 biggest media companies have a disproportionately high  Jewish Board membership [19]. Jews and females represent 2% and 51%, respectively, of the US population but average 33% and 19%, respectively, of the Board members of the top 18 US media companies. Jewish Zionists are disproportionately well represented among US billionaires and  the One Percenter US Establishment that runs Corporatocracy  and Lobbyocracy America, and the same Zionist disproportionality plays out globally where the top 1% have 50% of the wealth and the bottom 50% merely 1% of the wealth [20-22]. Zionism is genocidal racism and Nazism without gas chambers but with a  world-leading high technology military and war industry, and with 90 nuclear weapons and delivery systems including neo-Nazi Germany-supplied submarines [23].

The great achievement of Julian Assange was to expose the awful truth of US wars by publishing a huge volume of  secret American documentation of its crimes. Whereas the war crimes-exposing  writings of anti-war humanitarians such as myself are simply ignored by mendacious Western Mainstream media or otherwise disparaged as “leftist” or “conspiracy theories” (e.g. disparagement of expert, science-based analyses of what happened on 9/11 and the millions killed in the subsequent US wars) [7, 8], Julian Assange released a tsunami of secret US documents that were straight from the horse’s mouth, a massive US documentation of its appallingly perpetrated  malfeasances that could not be disputed. Of course the US classification of a mountain of documents as “top secret” is massive lying by omission that demands transparency in the interests of countries around the world variously subject to US subversion, perversion, invasion, occupation and devastation.

(2). Genocidally racist America’s global hegemony and endless war crimes – war is the penultimate in racism and genocide the ultimate in racism.

Racism is as American as apple pie (e.g. the obscene anti-miscegenation laws of the American Deep South that were mostly removed after 1967 –  my Bengali-Bihari wife Zareena and I were conscious of these laws when we worked in New York back then and didn’t risk venturing into the Deep South. Indeed when my Bengali-Bihari father-in-law Abdul Lateef (a Global South politician dedicated to inter-racial harmony) was invited to visit the US by the US State Department it provided a White “minder” to avoid any incidents when he visited the Deep South. Of course  war is the penultimate in racism and genocide the ultimate in racism. The US is a horrendous serial invader of other countries whereas, apart from inevitable border spats, most countries in the world have not invaded other countries. Costa Rica does not even have an army. In stark contrast, the US has invaded 72 countries (52 since WW2) [1-7, 24- 30], has committed 469 invasions from 1798 onwards [29, 30], committed 251 invasions since 1991 [29, 30], and has 800 military bases in over 70 countries [31]. In addition, the US actively spies on and subverts all countries (with US-beholden Mainstream media presstitutes playing a key role), this making its horrific persecution of Australian citizen Julian Assange for alleged “espionage” outside the US even more extraordinary, dishonest, disingenuous and reprehensible.

(3). Horrific war deaths in US wars – terrorism is as terrorism does, neo-Nazi is as neo-Nazi does and Nazi is as Nazi does.

Back in 1990 the formerly US-backed Baathist Saddam Hussein regime in Iraq was “green lighted” by the US to invade Kuwait, whereupon the US and US Alliance commenced the horrific devastation of Iraq. With the fall of Communism and the dismantling of the Soviet Union the US found a new target for hatred and threat, namely Arabs and Muslims [1, 4]. At the time when the West was baying for war against Iraq in 1990 an eminent Australian physician and medical scientist, Professor Fred Mendelsohn, in a letter to The Age newspaper (Melbourne) courageously warned that  war would mean the death of a huge number of children. This letter had a big impact on me (I should note that Fred Mendelsohn’s father Oscar Mendelsohn  had given my father, Dr John Polya,  a job when he arrived in Australia in 1939 as a refugee from Nazism). Professor Fred Mendelsohn and colleagues were involved in the Melbourne founding of the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) that was awarded the  Nobel Peace Prize in 2017 [32, 33].  His humane advice was ignored. About 0.2 million Iraqis were killed in the 1990-1991 US “Desert Storm” Gulf War invasion and UN Population Division data indicated that a further 1.5 million Iraqis died avoidably from imposed deprivation due to crippling  sanctions and devastating US, UK and Apartheid Israeli bombing in the period 1990-2003. Indeed in the only US admission of its horrendous war crimes, in 1996 Madeleine Albright (US Ambassador to the UN and later US Secretary of State) when asked by Lesley Stahl on CBS 60 Minutes that “We have heard that half a million [Iraqi] children have died. I mean, that is more children than died in Hiroshima. And, you know, is the price worth it?”,  notoriously replied “I think that is a very hard choice but the price, we think, the price is worth it” [34].

In 2003 the US, UK and Australia illegally invaded Iraq on the basis of massive lies about actually non-existent Iraqi Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD). Indeed it was subsequently determined that the Bush Administration had told 935 lies about Iraq between 9/11 and the invasion of Iraq [17]. On the  20th anniversary of the war criminal US, UK and Australian invasion of Iraq in 2003 it was estimated from UN Population Division data and expert epidemiological surveys that from 1990 onwards Iraqi deaths from US-imposed violence and deprivation had totalled about 5.0-5.5 million [35], similar to the number of deaths in the WW2 Jewish Holocaust (5-6 million) [36-38]. However the US and the US-beholden West now dismiss the Iraqi Holocaust and Iraqi Genocide as a “mistake” and grossly under-estimate the deaths involved, with the Australian ABC (the Australian equivalent of the mendacious and racist UK BBC) asserting that “tens of thousands of Iraqis” had died [39]. Contrary to Western presstitute propaganda, the child-killing Americans have not left Iraq despite the Iraqi Government repeatedly demanding this (neo-Nazi Germany and pro-Apartheid US, UK and Australia refused to leave)[40]. In the US-inspired and variously US Alliance-complicit  Sunni insurrection by ISIS in Iraq and Syria the US Alliance killed 40,000 Iraqis in destroying much of  Mosul (population 2 million and formerly the ancient Assyrian city of Nineveh) and destroyed Fallujah (the ancient City of Mosques, destroyed 2 times by the Americans) [41-43].

Although no Iraqis or Afghans participated in the events of 9/11  according to the “lying Bush official version of 9/11”, serial war criminal America used the 9/11 atrocity as an excuse to invade Afghanistan and thence invade Iraq and indeed other Muslim countries. Of course all war crimes should be properly investigated and those responsible arraigned, tried and punished. Presently 39 alleged unlawful killings of Afghans by Australian soldiers are being investigated. However 6 million Afghans have been passively murdered by the US Coalition over the last 2 decades through Occupier non-provision to the conquered Afghans of life-sustaining food and medical services that must be provided by the Occupier “to the fullest extent of the means available to it” according to Articles  55 and 56 of the Fourth Geneva Convention. This immense war crime by US Coalition politicians is 6,000,000/39 = 154,000 times worse than the alleged 39 unlawful killings by Australian soldiers. I have repeatedly urged that before any Australian soldiers are indicted for war crimes in Afghanistan the politicians  who sent them there should be indicted for grossly violating the Fourth Geneva Convention [24, 44-49]. Several elite Australian veterans have privately strongly agreed with me

Although the mendacious Australian ABC reported “tens of thousands” of Iraqis killed [39], and the “Iraq Body Count” site estimated 0.3 million Iraqi deaths [50], Iraqi epidemiologists report that there are 5 million orphans in Iraq (an orphan has lost 2 parents) [51-53]. Thus Aziz Alkazaz : “In the greatest leak in the history of the US military, Wikileaks was publishing in Oktober 2010 the huge number of 391,832 classified documents on the Iraq war on the Internet. These field reports from soldiers from a Pentagon database cast a new light on the war. Taken together, they represent a kind of diary of the Iraq war between 2004 and 2009. They do not tell the whole story, but expose additional dimensions to the war. They paint a picture of an asymmetrical war, one in which a superpower equipped with state-of the-art weaponry stands in the battlefield against individual fighting units… In 2007 there were 5 million Iraqi orphans, according to official government statistics” [51]. The average number of children in an Iraqi family is 3, so the death toll of Iraqi parents alone is 2 x 5.0 million/3 = 3.3 million.  Deaths from violence and war-imposed deprivation in the US Alliance–imposed  Iraqi Holocaust and Afghan Holocaust  total about 5 million and 7 million, respectively [1-7, 54-56]. Of course Iraq and Afghanistan were not the only countries murderously violated by the US in the 21st century. It was estimated in 2015 that 32 million Muslims had died from violence (5 million) and imposed deprivation (27 million) in 20 countries invaded by the US Alliance after the US Government’s 9/11 false flag atrocity that killed 3,000 people, mostly innocent Americans [7, 8].

(4). Horrific death ratios in US wars – terrorism is as terrorism does, neo-Nazi is as neo-Nazi does and Nazi is as Nazi does.

In 1944 Nazi mass murderer Adolf Hitler was informed of an Italian Partisan ambush in which 30 German soldiers were killed. Enraged, this genocidal psychopath immediately ordered reprisals in  which 10 Italian males were executed for every German soldier killed. The Nazis immediately rounded up 335 Italian men and boys (political prisoners and civilians) and executed them in the Ardeatine Caves Massacre in Rome [57]. The Occupied/Occupier Death Ratio is a useful measure of the relative barbarity of war criminal invaders, whether Nazi Germany, America, the US Alliance, Russia (in Ukraine) or neo-Nazi Apartheid Israel (in Occupied Palestine).

(a). The Watson Institute, Brown University, estimates that 4,700 US servicemen died in Iraq and 2,300 in Afghanistan and Pakistan for a total of 7,000 such deaths  [58]. The Occupied/Occupier Death Ratio for Occupied Iraq = 5.5 million deaths/ 4,700  US deaths = 1,170. The  Occupied/Occupier Death Ratio for Occupied Afghanistan = 7 million deaths/2,300 US deaths = 3,043, or 304 times bigger than the Nazi standard of 10. 

(b). If we adopt the Brown University estimates [58] (that in my view do not adequately consider horrific avoidable deaths from war-imposed deprivation) then the Occupied/Occupier Death Ratio for war criminal US adventures this century = 4.7 million Muslim deaths/7,000 US deaths = 671, or 67 times bigger than the Nazi standard of 10.    

(c). US casualties in major post-WW2 conflicts  totalled 40,000 (Korean War) [59], 58,000 (Vietnam War) [60] and 7,000 (War on Terror) [58] as compared to 40 million Asian deaths from violence and war-imposed deprivation [1]. The Occupied/Occupier Death Ratio for post-1950 US Asian wars was accordingly 40 million Asian deaths/ 105,000 US deaths = 381 or 38 times bigger than the Nazi standard of 10.

(d). As estimated in 2015 the War on Terror (7,000 US servicemen killed) was associated with 32 million Muslim deaths from violence, 5 million, and war-imposed deprivation, 27 million, in 20 countries invaded by the US Alliance since the US Government’s 9/11 false flag atrocity that killed 3,000 innocent Americans [7, 8, 61]. The Occupied/US Occupier Death Ratio was 32 million/7,000 = 4,571 or 457 times greater than the Nazi standard of 10.     

(e). In the US-backed Apartheid Israeli Gaza Massacre and Gaza Genocide, as of Day 250 the Occupied Palestinian/ Jewish Israeli Occupier Reprisals Death Ratio was 45,000/ 1,200 = 38 or 3.8 times greater than the Nazi standard of 10. However prize-winning Western journalists have  reported that many Israelis were killed on 7 October by high explosive  shelling from tanks and hellfire missiles from helicopters in the IDF response [62]. If we conservatively assume that the IDF killed 50% of the Israelis who died on 7 October 2023 then the Occupied Palestinian/Occupier Jewish Israeli Reprisals Death Ratio = 45,000/600 = 75 or 7.5 times more than the Nazi standard of 10.

(f). The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has provided  year-by-year statistics for the Occupied Palestinian/Occupier Israeli  reprisals Death Ratios from 2008, the worst years being 2008/2009: 1,965/44 = 44.7, 2014: 2,329/68 = 34.3,  2018: 300/13 = 23.1, and 2021: 349/11 = 31.7 [63, 64]. The average Occupied Palestinian/Occupier Israeli  reprisals Death Ratio for 1 January 2008 – 19 September 2023 was  6,407/308 = 20.8, which predicted 20.8 x 1,200 = 25,000 Palestinian deaths in the present atrocity to satisfy the previous Jewish Israeli bloodlust. Terrorism is as terrorism does, neo-Nazi is as neo-Nazi does and Nazi is as Nazi does.

One notes that in 1901 Australia’s first prime minister, White racist  Edmund Barton, proudly declared that “The doctrine of the equality of man was never intended to apply to the equality of an Englishman and the Chinaman” [2]. The above horrific statistics show that US, Western and Apartheid Israeli war criminals variously value perpetrator lives as 21- 4,600 times greater than that of their victims (see [1]). 

(5). Terrorism is as terrorism does, terrorist is as terrorist does, and threat to free speech in Zionist-subverted Western Murdochracies.   

In the only democratic elections held in Palestine (albeit under Occupier Israeli guns), in the 2006 Occupied Palestinian elections Hamas was overwhelmingly victorious .Accordingly Occupier Israelis killed by Hamas in or near Gaza can be estimated as 308 ( 1 January 2008 – 19 September 2023 ) + 1,200 (7 October 2023) = 1,508.   In contrast Occupied Palestinians killed by Occupiers Jewish Israelis in Gaza total 6,407 (1 January 2008 – 19 September 2023) + 45,000  (7 October 2023 – 12 June 2024) = 51,407 i.e. 51,4071,508 = 34 times more than the Jewish Israelis killed, and over 3 times greater than the Death Ratio of 10 advocated by Nazi leader Hitler [62-64]. Terrorism is as terrorism does, and terrorist is as terrorist does. Yet the US Alliance state terrorists declare Hamas to be a terrorist organization despite 34 times fewer Israeli deaths at the hands of Hamas than Palestinian deaths at the hands of Jewish Israelis. 

The anti-Arab anti-Semitic and egregiously racist West responded to the Occupied Palestinian Breakout from the Gaza Concentration Camp by baying for Palestinian blood, and resorting to the palpable lie that “Israel has a right to defend itself”. However according to International law expert and UN Special Rapporteur for the Occupied Palestinian Territory, Francesca Albanese, while Occupied Palestinians have every right under International Law to rebel against the highly  abusive 57-year Occupation, the war criminal and genocidally racist Occupiers, the Jewish Israeli Occupiers, have no right to self-defence in a belligerently occupied territory [65]. Perhaps the most critical Zionist/Western lies from a legal perspective are the false assertions that  “Palestinians do not have the right of (violent) resistance to Israeli Occupation” and that “Israel has a right to defend itself (from Occupied Palestinians)”. The Preamble to Universal Declaration of Human Rights  [66] and Article 51 of the UN Charter [67] permit self-defence and rebellion by Occupied people. Francesca Albanese (eminent human rights lawyer and UN Special Rapporteur for the Occupied Palestinian Territory): “[Israel is] claiming a non-existent right to self-defence… But the law remains the law and this is what we should follow. So, the right of self-defence can be invoked when a state is threatened by another state which is not the case. Israel has not claimed that it has been threatened by another state. It is being threatened by an armed group (qualify this as you will) by an armed group within the Occupied Territory. And frankly, even saying the war between Gaza and Israel is wrong because Gaza is not a stand-alone entity but is part of the Occupied Territory. That so, in particular Israel cannot claim the right of self-defence against a threat that emanates from the territory it occupies, from a territory that is kept under belligerent occupation” [65].

Led by serial war criminal and state terrorist America, the West conveniently lists Arab national resistance groups such as Hamas (Palestine) and Hezbollah (Lebanon) as “terrorist organizations” despite the reality that they have massive popular support in their respective countries. Yet surely terrorism is as terrorism does, and terrorist is as terrorist does. In the cases of Hamas , as set out in (4) above, Occupier Jewish Israelis killed by Hamas or related organizations since Hamas rule in Gaza total about  1,508,  whereas Occupied Palestinians killed in and near Gaza in the same period total 51,407 or 34 times more. Thus in terms of the crucial criterion of people killed Apartheid Israeli state terrorism is at least 34 times more deadly than  national armed resistance by Hamas. And as for Hezbollah that defends Lebanon from Apartheid Israel, the genocidally racist Jewish Israelis threaten to bomb Lebanon “back to the Stone Age” [68].  

The same argument applies to the US Alliance War on Terror in which 7,000 US soldiers were killed in the process of killing 32 million Muslims i.e. US state terrorism fighters were 32 million/7,000 = 4,571 times more deadly than the asserted “Muslim terrorists” defending their own land.

The consequence of this Orwellian arrangement in the West is that anyone expressing any sympathy for the Indigenous fighters (known as “terrorists”)  was liable to draconian state sanction as exampled by the horrifically abusive treatment of  Julian Assange for revealing US documentation about US war crimes. The late and great John Pilger was similarly threatened for the asserted “crime” of comparing the  Iraqi resistance to the WW2  French resistance – the stupid, ignorant, cowardly and racist ABC (the Australian  Broadcasting Corporation, the Australian equivalent of the mendacious and racist UK BBC) got expert legal opinion to the effect that he could be prosecuted under US lackey Australia’s draconian “terrorism laws”.  

Julian Assange was finally only able to escape the clutches of US-perverted British justice by pleading guilty to an espionage offence with the plea deal being ratified by a US Government-instructed judge on the US-ruled island of Saipan in the Pacific. However Julian Assange’s legal counsel Jennifer Robinson has expressed concern that this means that non-US journalists everywhere outside the US are now subject to a very real threat of draconian persecution by the US Government (US journalists have the protection of the First Amendment to the US Constitution that guarantees free speech).

 (6). Horrific genocidal atrocities in our time are mostly ignored by genocide-complicit Western perpetrators and their pliant Mainstream presstitutes. 

I have been researching, writing and publishing about genocide for 30 years. My first publication in this area was refereed by eminent anti-racist Jewish South African and Australian genocide scholar Professor Colin Tatz of the Centre for Genocide Studies at Macquarie University, Sydney, and was entitled “The Forgotten Holocaust – The 1943/44 Bengal Famine” [69, 70]. This essay led to my 1998 first edition of the huge book “Jane Austen and the Black Hole of British  History. Colonial rapacity, holocaust denial and the crisis in biological sustainability” and subsequent  massively revised and updated 2008 and 2022 editions [2]. I subsequently published some 1,000 large and exhaustively  documented  articles in a variety of journals outside of censorious and genocide-ignoring Australia [1], many of them in Countercurrents [71, 72] (for a list of about 650 such articles and related works see [72]).  What initiated this huge genocide investigation  was discovering in 1995  that my wife’s Bengali and Bihari people had suffered this immense WW2 atrocity that was of the same order of magnitude as the WW2 Jewish Holocaust that decimated my family in Hungary at the  same time – but whereas everyone is aware of the WW2 Jewish Holocaust, the WW2 Bengali Holocaust has been deliberately hidden by successive generations of mendacious British historiographers [2]. 

Indeed to counter this horrific genocide denial and holocaust denial I have recorded the dates and “deaths from violence and imposed deprivation” for about 70 genocides up to the present [2, 4-6]. However mendacious Mainstream journalist, editor, politician, academic and commentariat presstitutes have resolutely ignored or diminished  US Alliance-complicit genocides, notably those in the US War on Terror e.g. the 2003-2011 Iraqi Holocaust (5 million deaths) and the 2001-2021 Afghan Holocaust (7 million deaths) [54-56]. One notes that genocide ignoring and holocaust ignoring are far, far worse than repugnant  genocide denial and holocaust denial because the latter 2 crimes at least can be publicly refuted and publicly debated.

Julian Assange put genocidal US and US Alliance war crimes  before the Western public and was severely punished for it.  I first published a detailed and documented article in  defence of Julian Assange back in 2010 [73]. I was greatly heartened  by discovering that Julian Assange’s father, John Shipton, in trying to save his son was referring to my scholarship around the world as reported in global media [74-80]. Indeed I was a founding member of Free Palestine Melbourne (FPM) that helps organize huge and peaceful rallies for Gaza (5,000 to 40,000 people) in the Melbourne CBD (12 noon, Victorian  State Library, every Sunday). For this we are falsely trashed by the Zionist Australian Labor Government  and the Zionist Coalition Opposition for “bringing foreign troubles to Australia”, “damaging social cohesion” and, of course “antisemitism” (yet about 10% of our members are anti-racist  Jews such as myself). Late last year  John Shipton was one of the rally speakers and referred to my research on the millions killed in US wars. I later introduced myself whereupon he said “Gideon!” and gave me a big hug – hugged by human rights royalty! 

(7). Peace is the only way but silence kills and silence is complicity – we must defend the voiceless victims and their defenders such as  Julian Assange.

Australian Julian Assange is the world’s most famous journalist but  for his courageous and humane truth-telling  about genocidal US war crimes was incarcerated by the serial war criminal,  human rights-violating and slavishly US-beholden UK for 12 years in London, with for 5 years being subject to highly abusive imprisonment in solitary confinement in Belmarsh Prison.

On a personal note, my immediate family’s forebears suffered egregiously from imprisonment, dispossession, genocidal abuse and ethnic cleansing by European powers. DNA analysis indicates that I am 57% Ashkenazi Jewish and 24% British Celtic, this being corroborated by centuries of family history in Hungary and Scotland. My Scots forebears were expelled from their homes in the 18th – 19th century Scottish Highland Clearances (2 of their crofters cottages still survive). In about 1800 my Jewish forebears  fled Prussian-occupied Poland  for the relative safety of the Austro-Hungarian Empire but still suffered racist exclusion. My great grandfather Jakab Pólya wisely changed our name  from Pollack (implying a Jew from Poland ) to Pólya (meaning a swaddling cloth in Hungarian), a change that enabled him to go to university and become an eminent economist and academician (e.g. he translated Adam Smith’s “The Wealth of Nations” into Hungarian). However 80 years ago the Nazis decimated my wider family in Hungary with only a dozen surviving to my knowledge (my grandfather Jenö Pólya, a world-famous surgeon, was killed by the Nazis just weeks before the Red Army liberated Budapest; 2 emptied and seized  family homes survive in Buda and Pest) [81].

After WW2 my grandmother’s cousin Dr Edith Bone  was imprisoned in solitary confinement in Communist Hungary (her book “Seven Years’ Solitary”[82] would inspire a teenager  Aung San Suu Kyi who would later be much-imprisoned in Myanmar [83]). My wider family’s  survivors of the WW2 Jewish Holocaust made new lives in North America and Australia that had both been largely ethnically cleansed of Indigenous people by genocidal settler colonialists. My father John Bela Polya (“Are We Safe?” [84] and “Dreyfus in Australia” [85]), settled in Tasmania, as far away as possible from the European carnage [86]. However all of my dear late wife Zareena’s grandparents were Bengali-Bihari “5 year slaves” or indentured labourers  of the British and Australians in Fiji.  Her father Abdul Lateef was a lawyer and politician who stood for independence and inter-racial harmony. However 2 secretly US-, Australia- and  Apartheid Israel-backed bloodless coups (1987 and 2000) forced about 100,000 Fiji Indians to flee to Australia, New Zealand and North America in a massive but bloodless ethnic cleansing [1, 87-89]. Yet because of British and Australian lying my Indian wife and my Fiji Indian in-laws had absolutely no knowledge of the 1942-1945 WW2 Bengali Holocaust (WW2 Indian Holocaust, WW2 Bengal Famine)  in which 6-7 million Indians in Bengal, Bihar, Assam and Odisha were deliberately starved to death for strategic   reasons by the British with food-denying Australian complicity [2].

 I have been morally obliged to defend Julian Assange through my writing over many years [71, 72] . Thus Gideon Polya (2010): “Julian Assange, the famous leadership figure of Wikileaks, is an Australian citizen who was born in Queensland , North East Australia. So far  the WikiLeaks releases re Australia have exposed what US officials thought of PM Rudd (“control freak” and other unflattering comments); Rudd’s appalling advocacy of  US war with China and Australian soldiers for war in Pakistan; successful lobbying of the Labor Government by BHP Billiton to help block a $21 billion Chinese investment in mining giant Rio Tinto; revelation of secret Australian Government pessimism over the Afghan War; and exposure of 3 [pro-Zionist, pro-US] Labor MPs as involved in giving insider information and opinions to the US. The US lackey Australian Government has reacted by threatening Assange with criminal proceedings, this in turn provoking widespread support for Julian Assange from both ordinary and eminent  Australians” [73]. Julian Assange was highly abusively incarcerated in London for 12 years, 7 years confined in the Ecuadorean Embassy to avoid extradition to the US and 5 years in Belmarsh Prison. His health was failing under this torture and he was betrayed by successive US lackey Australian Governments  until final action in 2024 that secured his release [90, 91]. His father John Shipton has adduced my research on millions of deaths from violence and US-imposed deprivation in Iraq (5 million) and Afghanistan (7 million) [6-9] in support of Julian Assange’s truth-telling about US war crimes for which public decency he was horribly incarcerated in London for 12 years [74-80].

The cravenly US lackey Australian Labor Government was finally forced to take action in the face of overwhelming Australian public support for freeing Julian Assange. However its hypocrisy and that of the Coalition Opposition is revealed by their continuing position that Julian Assange had suffered “enough” i.e. that he was  guilty of a serious crime (as falsely asserted by Labor Prime Minister Julia Gillard in 2010) and deserved much of the massive suffering inflicted on him for telling the truth about US war crimes.

Final comments and conclusions.

Julian Assange is now safe at home in Australia with his wife and children, and  other family. No doubt when he has recovered from his ordeal he will resume truth-telling with a vengeance born of his awful suffering. He will always be at risk from dirty ops by the Americans and so he will probably stay home in Australia. However with a powerful  international voice as the world’s most famous journalist, Julian Assange will have plenty to report on because the Australia that the world sees is just the tip of an iceberg of utterly awful realities that are largely kept hidden by look-the-other-way Australia.

Thus as a UK or US lackey Australia has invaded 85 countries with 30 of these invasions being genocidal [92-95]. The ongoing  Australian Aboriginal Genocide is qualitatively the worst genocide and ethnocide in the world – thus of 350-700 unique Indigenous languages and dialects pre-Invasion in 1788, only about 120 survive and all but about 20 are facing extinction [96]. By denying food to its starving ally India from its war-time mountain of grain, racist White Australia was deeply complicit in the “forgotten” WW2 Bengali Holocaust (WW2 Indian Holocaust,  WW2 Bengal Famine; 6-7 million Indians deliberately starved to death for strategic reasons in Bengal, Odisha, Bihar and Assam in 1942-1945 by the genocidal British led by Churchill, and with food-denying Australian complicity). However this Australian-complicit atrocity is just part of the 2-century, British-imposed Indian Holocaust  in which 1,800 million Indians perished due to deadly, British-imposed deprivation – quantitatively the worst genocide in world history [97-99].

Post-WW2  Australia was involved in all post-1950 US Asian wars (40 million Asian deaths from war-imposed deprivation) [1]. Variously through invasion, occupation, covert coups, and world leading Australian climate criminality, Australians have violated all 80 Indo-Pacific countries and collaborated with the US in 8 coups, namely in Laos (1960), Indonesia (1965), Cambodia (1970), Chile (1973), Australia (1975), Fiji (1987), Fiji (2000) and Australia (2010) (the latter 3 also involving Apartheid Israel) [88, 89]. Dare to look under the Australian rock and you will find the most awful deadly things hiding there. Thus I have made 5 huge Submissions to the newly established Australian National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) concerned with massive fraud and criminality  in relation to (1) huge but ignored Australian war crimes, (2) corporations and governments ignoring  huge Carbon Debt, (3) huge and fraudulent  university fees, (4) Mainstream Media lying and (5) Australian Labor Government’s lying for Apartheid Israel – yet all of these million dollar to trillion dollar matters except possibly for (5) have been flatly rejected by the NACC [46].

 Having courageously exposed US war crimes,  Julian Assange, now free in Australia, is well placed as the  world’s number 1 journalist  to expose the horrific complicity of Australian Mainstream journalist, editor, politician, academic and commentariat presstitutes in the ongoing Gaza Massacre and Palestinian Genocide by US- , West- and Australia-backed Apartheid Israel [100-106]. This awful complicity is simply summarized in the following Letter I sent on 5 June 2024 to the editors of  9 major Australian Mainstream  media (however the Silence has been Deafening): “The arithmetic of Australian decency that children can understand: of 227 Federal MPs  (151 MHRs [Members of the House of Representatives], 76 Senators) only the 15 Greens, Lidia Thorpe, Dr Helen Haines and Andrew Wilkie  have voted for an immediate and permanent Ceasefire in the devastated  Gaza Concentration Camp. Now Senator Fatima Payman, decent Australia’s wonderful  Joan of Arc, has left the pro-Apartheid Israel and hence Apartheid Labor Party (ALP) demanding recognition of the State of Palestine (actual Labor Party policy but not implemented by the unforgivably mendacious, cowardly, Zionist-perverted, US lackey and Gaza Genocide-complicit  Australian Labor Government) and decrying the ongoing Gaza Genocide (45,000 killed so far including 16,000 children, 10,000 women, 19,000 men, 500 health professionals, and 152 courageous, truth-telling journalists). There are presently only 19 decent MPs unequivocally opposing the mass murder of children by Apartheid Israel but one can only hope that  by this time next year there will be 227 with the unforgivably genocide-complicit Labor, Coalition, Teal, and other MPs removed from public life by decent Australian voters who will also put Labor last (Labor is in government and has trashed Australia internationally by making it complicit in the Gaza Genocide). Australia needs de-Nazification. Silence is complicity”.
