The excellent official Brereton Report found evidence of 39 unlawful killings of Afghans by Australian soldiers. However utterly ignored by successive Australian Governments over many decades have been millions of Indigenous avoidable deaths from deprivation in Australia-occupied countries (6 million in Occupied Afghanistan, 2001-2021), evidence of horrendous violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention by politicians of Australia and the US Alliance.
Thus as a member of the US Alliance Australia has variously been involved in the invasion, devastation and occupation of numerous countries since WW2. Australia was involved in all post-1950 US Asian wars, atrocities associated with 40 million Asian deaths from violence and war-imposed deprivation [1, 2]. While US Alliance war dead are carefully recorded to the last man, US General Tommy Franks declared “We don’t do body counts” on Indigenous Asians and Muslims violently killed in US wars. Further, Western media, academics and politicians resolutely ignore the millions of Asian and Muslim deaths from deprivation (mostly of children) in countries devastated by US Alliance invasion and occupation since WW2 [1]. Thus avoidable deaths from war-imposed deprivation have totalled about 3 million (variously bombed, sanctioned, devastated and occupied Iraq, 1990-2011) and about 6 million (Occupied Afghanistan, 2001-2021 ) [1].
This carnage is key evidence of gross Australian and US Alliance violation of Articles 55 and 56 of the Fourth Geneva Convention (the Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War) which state that an Occupier must supply life-sustaining food and medical services to its conquered Subjects “to the fullest extent of the means available to it” [1].
Indeed as a UK and thence a US lackey Australians have invaded 85 countries since the British invasion of Australia in 1788 [1-6], with 30 of these invasions being genocidal [4]. By way of comparison, over the last 1,000 years the English have invaded 193 countries, France 82, the US 72 (52 after WW2), Germany 39, Japan 30, Russia 25, Canada 25, Apartheid Israel 13, China 2, and North Korea arguably zero (0) [5].
Since the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour (December 1941) and the Japanese conquest of Singapore (February 1942), Australia has been a fervent ally of the US, notwithstanding the realities that the UK and US had successful strategies of forcing militarist and war criminal Japan into the wider carnage of the Eastern Theatre of WW2 (associated with about 40-50 million deaths, mostly 35-40 million Chinese deaths in 1937-1945 under the Japanese, and 6-7 million Indian deaths under the British in 1942-1945), and no intention of distant Japan to invade Australia [7].
However the US has an appalling record of invading other countries [8]. The US has committed 469 invasions from 1798 onwards [11, 12], committed 251 invasions since 1991 [11, 12], and has 800 military bases in over 70 countries [13]. The US actively spies on and subverts all countries, deceives and spies on its craven ally Australia [14, 15], and indeed supplies raw intelligence on Australians to Apartheid Israel [16]. The Whitlam Labor Government (1972-1975) was removed in a UK- and US-backed coup [6, 17, 18]. Wikileaks revealed that several Labor MPs gave insider information about the Labor Government to the US Embassy [19]. Popularly-elected Labor PM Kevin Rudd was removed in a US-approved, Apartheid Israel-complicit, Mining Corporation-backed and pro-Zionist-led coup in 2010 [20, 21].
With this essential background sketched, one can assess Australian Government-ignored war crimes in recent decades, as systematically summarized below.
(1). War is a crime, and the Australia-complicit Iraqi Genocide and Iraqi Holocaust.
Racism is vile and often deadly through violence and imposed deprivation. Thus presently 7.4 million people (mostly children) die avoidably from deprivation each year on Spaceship Earth with rich countries (an especially the US) in charge of the flight deck [1]. War is the penultimate in racism but genocide is the ultimate in racism (this ignoring likely terracide or near-total devastation of the planet and decimation of Humanity by nuclear war or out-of-control climate change) [22-25]. Thus eminent theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking stated: “We see great peril if governments and societies do not take action NOW [my emphasis] to render nuclear weapons obsolete and to prevent further climate change” [23].
War and invasion of another country is permissible under the UN Charter (a) in response to attack by that country, (b) if requested by the government of the country, and (c) if the invasion is sanctioned by the UN Security Council (but only after serious negotiations to avoid war). Thus the Australia-complicit Iraq War occurred on the basis of outrageous US and UK lies, and Australia’s participation was decided by the Australian PM John Howard without Parliamentary debate. Former Federal President of the Liberal Party, John Valder: “Bush, Blair, and Howard, as leaders of the three members of the coalition of the willing, inflicted enormous suffering on the people of Iraq. And, as such, they are criminals… I believe the only deterrent to a repetition of the Iraq situation is punishment in some form as war criminals” [26].
Anti-racist Jewish British playwright and 2005 Literature Nobel Laureate, Harold Pinter: “We have brought torture, cluster bombs, depleted uranium, innumerable acts of random murder, misery, degradation and death to the Iraqi people and call it ‘bringing freedom and democracy to the Middle East’. How many people do you have to kill before you qualify to be described as a mass murderer and a war criminal? One hundred thousand? More than enough, I would have thought. Therefore it is just that Bush and Blair be arraigned before the International Criminal Court of Justice” [27]. I would answer re Iraq: 5 million, surely enough I would have thought (4.6 million Iraq deaths from violence and deprivation in 1990-2011, and a further 0.4 million since then),
Previous Coalition governments were complicit in this atrocity, and the Hawke and Keating Labor Governments were complicit in the 1990-1991 Gulf War and the deadly 1990-2003 Sanctions (0.2 million violent Iraqi deaths in the Gulf War and 1.7 million avoidable deaths from deprivation, 1990-2003) [28-32]. The present Australian Labor Government has not exposed the crimes, indicted the perpetrators, or even exposed the perpetrators. Silence is complicity, and for all that it formally opposed the Iraq War (2003-2011) the present Australian Labor Government is an accessory after the fact of the US Alliance-imposed Iraqi Genocide and Iraqi Holocaust.
While “holocaust” implies death of a huge number of people, “genocide” is defined by Article 2 of the UN Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide thus: “In the present Convention, genocide means any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such: (a) Killing members of the group; (b) Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; (c) Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part; (d) Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group; (e) Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group” [33]. Unfortunately the Australian Federal Court has found no Australian law against genocide in Australia (e.g. the Aboriginal Genocide) [34, 35] but those Australian politicians complicit the Iraqi Genocide and Iraqi Holocaust and silent accessories after the fact should at least be exposed.
Avoidable deaths from deprivation in the Iraqi Holocaust totalled 1.7 million (under Sanctions, 1990-2003), 1.2 million (under Occupation, 2003-2011), and about 0.4 million (in the US Alliance defeat of the barbarous ISIS since 2011) [6]. Fallujah (the ancient City of Mosques, dating back to Babylonian times in the first millennium BCE, and indeed a major centre for Jewish scholarship dating from that period) was destroyed twice by the Americans [36, 37], and 40,000 Iraqis were killed in the Australian and US Alliance destruction of the Western part of Mosul [37, 38]. After the Iraqi Parliament demanded in 2021 that the US Alliance (including Australian) forces leave Iraq, the US Alliance (including Australia) refused, and President Donald Trump warned that unless the Iraqis desisted with this demand he would seize their foreign currency reserves and destroy what was left of the Iraqi economy [39].
The per capita GDP is presently $65,000 for rich Australia but only about $6,200 for war-devastated Iraq [40]. The horrendous Iraqi avoidable mortality under sanctions, bombing, occupation and war since 1990 totals about 3.3 million [1, 28-32] and is associated with gross violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention by the US Alliance (including Australia), recalling that the Articles 55 and 56 of the Fourth Geneva Convention unequivocally state that an Occupier must supply life-sustaining food and medical services to its conquered Subjects “to the fullest extent of the means available to it” [41].
In plain English, according to the Fourth Geneva Convention conquest and occupation of another country obliges the Conqueror to keep the conquered Subjects alive. As craven lackeys of the serial invader and serial war criminal US, successive Australian Governments have ignored this obligation in relation to the 5 million deaths of the Iraqi Genocide and Iraqi Holocaust [28-32, 42-48]. By way of comparison, the WW2 Jewish Holocaust was associated with 5-6 million deaths from violence and imposed deprivation, and the “forgotten”, British-imposed and Australia-complicit WW2 Bengali Holocaust (WW2 Indian Holocaust, WW2 Bengal Famine) involved 6-7 million Indians deliberately starved to death for strategic reasons by the British with food-denying Australian complicity [1, 7, 29, 31, 49-52].
Back in 1990 eminent physician and medical scientist Professor Fred Mendelson in a letter published by The Age (Melbourne) publicly warned that the looming war against Iraq would kill huge numbers of children. He was dead right, with “dead” being the operative word. I have been researching and writing about this ever-worsening Iraqi Genocide for 2 decades. However a succession of corrupt and war criminal Australian Government knew the score but variously cowardly and corruptly fell in line with the serial war criminal US in the interests of (a) themselves (after the US- and UK-backed Coup that removed the Whitlam Government, the bipartisan sine qua non of Australian politics has been “all the way with the USA”), and (b) of the serial war criminal US and the UK (Labor didn’t back the Iraq War but has ignored the carnage and has not indicted the war criminals – silence is complicity).
(2). Australia-complicit and Australia-ignored horrendous war crimes in Occupied Afghanistan, and the continuing Afghan Genocide and Afghan Holocaust.
One is obliged to endlessly repeat that Articles 55 and 56 of the Fourth Geneva Convention explicitly state that an Occupier is inescapably obliged to provide its Conquered Subjects with life-sustaining food and medical services “to the fullest extent of the means available to it” [41]. However UN Population Division data show that in the 20 years of the US Alliance Occupation Afghan deaths from deprivation totalled 6 million, noting that about half the Afghan population are children and about three quarters are women and children. Violent Afghan deaths may total about 1 million [1, 29-31, 53]. The GDP per capita is about $65,000 for rich Australia but only $600 (100 times less) for impoverished and war-devastated Afghanistan [40]. The annual per capita medical expenditure of Australia in 2020 was $5,627 or about 10 times more than the Afghan per capita GDP [54]. In 2021 the per capita health expenditure of Afghanistan was a mere $16.8, 333 times less than that of Australia [55].
This remorseless, genocidally racist, war criminal, corrupt and bipartisan (Coalition- and Labor-supported) policy grossly violated the Fourth Geneva Convention, and criminally rejected Occupier provision to the Conquered Afghan Subjects of life-sustaining food and medical services “to the fullest extent of the means available to it”. The consequence was the passive mass murder of 6 million Afghans, mostly children.
The present Australian Labor Government and its Labor and Coalition predecessors have been remorselessly ignoring and lying about these horrendous genocidal realities in the interests of (a) themselves (political survival-dictated, self-serving, cowardly, genocidally racist and corrupt ingratiation with US Alliance war criminals), and of (b) their serial war criminal and genocidally racist US Alliance allies, and in particular the US, UK, and NATO.
In stark contrast, the excellent Brereton Report found evidence that 39 Afghans had been unlawfully killed by Australian soldiers, one solder has been charged, and a further soldier has been declared to have committed such crimes by a judge in making his decision in a reportedly A$30 million-cost defamation proceedings. Now 6,000,000 (Afghans passively murdered by the US Alliance including Australia) / 39 (Afghans allegedly unlawfully killed by Australian soldiers) = 154,000 i.e. the passive mass murder of 6,000,000 Afghans (mostly women and children) by Australian and US Alliance politicians is 154,000 times worse than the alleged unlawful killing of 39 Afghans by Australian soldiers.
Of course all war crimes should be thoroughly investigated and the perpetrators tried and punished, but in my opinion no Australian soldier should be tried for any of these 39 alleged unlawful killings before the politicians complicit in the 154,000 times greater war crime (the passive mass murder of 6,000,000 Afghans) are exposed and tried. Several highly-trained Australian veterans have privately agreed with me. However before even that happens it is necessary to expose the corrupt, mendacious and racist lying about these matters by Australian politicians in the interest of (a) themselves (egregiously corrupt lying) and (b) of other war criminal US Alliance politicians and governments (treason).
Conversely, the prosecution of Australian soldiers before any formal exposure of Australian politicians will have the effect of perpetuating the hiding of the immense, 154,000 times greater passive mass murder crimes of the latter.
Further, US lackey Liberal Party-National Party Coalition and Labor (Lib-Lab) Australian politicians, aided by Sinophobic Mainstream journalist, editor, politician, academic and commentariat presstitutes, are corruptly and mendaciously attacking China (Australia’s biggest trading partner) for allegedly threatening the world, and for alleged race-based crimes and even genocide in Xinjiang and Tibet. No doubt one-party state China has been harsh in dealing with dissidents throughout China (notably in Hong Kong) and with Uyghurs in Xinjiang and Tibetans. However the most fundamental human right is the right to life and China has taken 800 million Chinese out of poverty, and has dramatically improved the circumstances of Tibetans, Uyghurs and other non-Han groups.
In about 2007 the “under-5 year old infant deaths per 1,000 births” was 29 for China, and a similar value for Tibet as compared to values in China’s “good outcome” neighbours of Russia (21), Vietnam (23) and Kazakhstan (29) and in its “poor outcome neighbours” of Mongolia (54), Kyrgyzstan (64), North Korea (65), Bhutan (65), Laos (67), Nepal (72), Tajikistan (78), India (79), Myanmar (97) and US Alliance- and Australia-occupied Afghanistan (235). By way of comparison, for 2007 the “under-5 year old infant deaths per 1,000 births” were in the range 5 – 8 for the Occupiers the US (8), Australia (6) and other Western Occupiers of Afghanistan [56]. By 2018 Australia-, US- , UK- and NATO-occupied Afghanistan had an under-1 infant mortality and maternal mortality incidence that was 7 times higher and 4-12 times higher, respectively, than that in Tibet – evidence of gross violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention and the UN Genocide Convention by the US Alliance [57]. Thus China has been hugely successful in radically reducing infant mortality and maternal mortality in Tibet and in China as a whole [58].
Similarly, the reality reported by China (2021) is that “From 2000 to 2020, Xinjiang’s population growth slowed down, but was still 1.15 percentage points higher than the national average in CAGR [Compound Annual Growth Rate]. The national censuses show that the ethnic minority population in Xinjiang has grown rapidly over the past seven decades” [59]. While resolutely ignoring the horrendous human cost of their genocidal wars, the US and the US Alliance are presently engaged in a massive Sinophobic “war on truth”, and saturating Mainstream media with the utterly false allegation of a “Uyghur Genocide”. No matter that they admit that there have been no mass killing or expulsions in Xinjiang, to the endlessly mendacious US government the “truth” is simply what serves the interests of the endlessly warmongering US Alliance. However China reports excellent health, infant mortality, maternal mortality, population growth and education outcomes in Xinjiang [59], this being confirmed by data from respected NGOs, in contradiction of Sinophobic US, UK and Australian claims of a “Uyghur Genocide” [60].
The Australia-complicit Afghan Genocide and Afghan Holocaust continues. The defeated Americans left Afghanistan in 2021 but applied deadly sanctions to the devastated and impoverished country, continued subversion and bombing, and seized about $10 billion of Afghan financial assets abroad, thus crippling the Afghan economy and causing massive infant mortality and huge avoidable deaths from imposed deprivation. The US, Western and Australian Mainstream journalist, editor, politician, academic and commentariat presstitutes – including Lib-Lab politicians – rightly condemn the misogyny of the Taliban Government (its banning of school education, university education, sport and normal public social participation for females and even banning public appearance without a male relative escort). However the most fundamental of human rights is the right to life. Presently (2020 data) each year in Afghanistan (population 39 million) about 76,000 under-5 year old Afghan infants die and 106,000 Afghans die avoidably from deprivation, as compared to annual deaths of 1,100 under-5 year old infants and 1,600 avoidable deaths from deprivation in Australia (population 26 million) [1].
The present Australian Labor Government and its Lib-Lab predecessors must be exposed for their war criminal and corrupt complicity in what is a continuing Afghan Genocide and Afghan Holocaust associated with loss of life (about 7 million deaths from violence and deprivation) that is presently greater than that of the WW2 Jewish Holocaust (5-6 million deaths from violence and deprivation) [49-51].
(3). Criminal violation by Australia of all its Indo-Pacific neighbours and the Muslim world through serial war criminal, corrupt, mendacious and US lackey Lib-Lab Australian governments.
Perhaps at this point I should make a positional declaration. I am an anti-racist scientist and Humanist with a sole allegiance to Australia. My ideology reduces simply to Kindness and Truth. My wider family in Hungary were decimated in the WW2 Jewish Holocaust and from that and numerous similar atrocities I have taken the key moral imperatives of “zero tolerance for racism”, “zero tolerance for lying”, “bear witness“ and “never again to anyone”.
I have briefly set out below a catalogue of criminal Lib-Lab politician violations of these ethical decencies that amount to egregious corruption because Australian Lib-Lab politicians benefit hugely personally and collectively by hugely betraying Kindness and Truth in a country in which the sine qua non is “all the way with the USA” , and notwithstanding that since WW2 the USA has been ruled by mendacious, racist and serial war criminal governments [1-17].
(a). As a craven US lackey Australia has variously violated all Indo-Pacific countries.
Australia has made variously war criminal or climate criminal impositions on all circa 80 countries of the Indo-Pacific region over the last 80 years, variously through war, occupation, subversion, covert coups and world-leading climate criminality. Detailed, documented and alphabetically-organized summaries of these violations are presented in [61, 62].
Overall, presently 7.4 million people die avoidably from deprivation each year on Spaceship Earth with the First World (including rich Australia) in charge of the flight deck. It is variously estimated that air pollution from burning carbon fuels kills about 7 million people annually, with Australia causing 75,000 such deaths abroad (from the burning of its world-leading coal exports) and 10,000 at home (through the burning of carbon fuels, with this ignoring the huge contribution due to bush fires). Presently about 1 million people suffer climate change-impacted death each year and about 20 million climate refugees are generated each year. The world is existentially threatened by nuclear weapons and climate change [23-25]. The direst estimate is that in the absence of requisite action 10 billion people will die avoidably this century en route to a sustainable human population in 2100 of only about 1 billion. Climate criminal Australia is among world leaders for climate criminality, carbon terrorism and climate terrorism. A serial war criminal, egregiously climate criminal and grossly Humanity-violating Australia violates all Indo-Pacific nations, and invites global action though Carbon Tariffs, International Criminal Court (ICC) prosecutions, International Court of Justice (ICJ) litigations, and Boycotts, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) [61-64].
(b). Australians have been involved in 8 covert coups, deadly and unconscionable crimes for which they have neither been exposed nor punished.
Removal of a country’s government by a Coup involving foreign actors is one of the worst of crimes. Yet the US has been involved in dozens of such criminal regime changes. Careful accounting reveals 85 instances of the US attempting to overthrow foreign governments since WW2 and that the US was successful in 50 instances, with craven US lackey Australia being involved in 8 of these covert regime changes (and possibly more for all I know). Since the end of the Iraq War in 2011 the UK has sent special forces to 19 countries according to the London-based Action on Armed Violence (AOAV) that researches global armed violence. In the last millennium the English and thence the British have invaded 193 countries. As a UK or US ally, Australia has invaded 85 countries, and has violated all circa 80 Indo-Pacific countries in the last 80 years, variously through military presence (most countries), a hugely disproportionately high Australian contribution to climate change (all countries), and covert regime change (8).
Australians were involved in the following Coups: Laos (1960), Indonesia (1965), Cambodia (1970), Chile (1973), Australia (1975), Fiji (1987), Fiji (2000) and Australia (2010). Australia is second only to the US in supporting Apartheid Israel and hence neo-Nazi Apartheid, and it is notable that Apartheid Israel was also involved in the last 3 Coups: Fiji 1987 (covert importation of arms), Fiji 2000 (the now established Apartheid Israeli embassy supplied arms to the rebels as revealed in the Suva Court), and Australia 2010 (after mildly objecting to repeated Israeli forging of Australian passports for terrorism purposes, and failing to mollify traitorous Zionists, a month later PM Kevin Rudd was removed from office in a US-approved, Mining Corporation–supported and pro-Zionist-led coup). While the Coups in Laos, Cambodia, and Indonesia were variously in each country subsequently associated with millions of deaths from violence and deprivation, the Coup in Chile was associated with tens of thousands being imprisoned and tortured and some 3,000 Chileans murdered. The Fiji and Australian Coups were bloodless but had substantial consequences. Thus about 100,000 Indian Fijians fled overseas in a bloodless Fiji Indian Genocide [61, 62].
US asset Bob Hawke ensured a calm response by the Labour movement and subsequent national amnesia about the US- and UK-.complicit Coup that removed the progressive Whitlam Labor Government in 1975 [17, 18]. The US, Apartheid Israel and Zionist involvements in the removal of democratically elected PM Kevin Rudd in 2010 have similarly been resolutely ignored by Mainstream Australian presstitutes. However the 2010 Coup resulted in thousands of US forces being based near Darwin, a continuing disastrous US militarization of Australia (with visits by US nuclear–armed B52s and submarines now planned), Labor being kept out of power for a decade, rampant and dangerous Sinophobia, and a revolving door of 6 PMs in a dozen years. The Mainstream media silence is well illustrated by the following 2023 Letter to “The Australian” newspaper that of course was not published (indicative of what this US Murdoch media empire newspaper does not want its readers to know about):
“The Australian reported (25/7) that “The pro-Israel lobby has warned Labor figures against any factional deal at the upcoming ALP national conference” re Palestine recognition and AUKUS. If pro-China Chinese Australian lobbyists in Australia “warned Labor figures” and lobbied the ALP for Palestinian recognition and against AUKUS they might well be arrested for violating the 2018 Foreign Interferences laws.
Indeed Australian citizen Daniel Duggan is imprisoned in maximum security in Australia and facing life imprisonment in the US for simply teaching some Chinese students at a South Africa pilot school. World-famous journalist and Australian citizen, Julian Assange, has been imprisoned for 10 years in London, and faces life imprisonment in the US for truth-telling about US war crimes.
As an anti-racist Jewish Australian with a sole allegiance to Australia I demand exposure of the Israel Lobby and its rotten Labor supporters. Thus, for example, another outstanding Australian journalist, Bernard Keane: “It’s an open secret within Labor, for example, that then-Israeli ambassador Yuval Rotem was actually present on the night when a right-wing powerbroker was helping organise the removal of Kevin Rudd from the prime ministership” *.

Indeed in 2004 Opposition Leader Mark Latham promised to bring Australian soldiers back from Iraq “by Christmas” (however the US Ambassador publicly intervened in the Australian elections over this issue and Latham was defeated) [65].
With these notable exceptions, successive Zionist-subverted and US lackey Australian Governments have ignored these Australia-linked US-violations of the governments of other countries and indeed of Australia. There is disgraceful and cowardly silence from Australian Mainstream journalist, editor, politician, academic and commentariat presstitutes. Silence is complicity and silent Mainstream Australian politicians, journalists and academics are accessories after the fact of these vile crimes. In this conduct – at best cowardly and self-interested and at worst treason – influential Mainstream Australian journalists, politicians and academics have entrenched a dominant culture of corrupt lying by omission in the interest of (a) themselves by not telling the truth (corruption), and (b) of foreign countries inimical to Australia and the region (racist treason).
(c). Corrupt Australian lying, intimidation and censorship in the interest of (a) themselves, and (b) inimical foreign governments.
In stark contrast to the personally-rewarding corrupt lying by Mainstream politician, academic and media presstitutes, Australian truth-tellers have been variously subject to intimidation, censorship and imprisonment. Notable examples of very famous Australian journalists and writers subject to such abuse include Wilfred Burchett (unsuccessfully excluded from Australia for revealing the realities of the genocidal Korean War in which 28% of the North Korean population were killed), Frank Hardy (his fictional book “Power Without Glory” exposing Labor Party corruption was banned in Australia), and John Pilger (outstanding expatriate Australian journalist abused and threatened by an ABC-acquired expert legal opinion that by comparing Iraqis resisting the illegal and war criminal US and Australian invasion to the French Resistance might subject him to Australian anti-terrorism laws).
A number of other Australian truth-tellers have variously been abused, threatened, and even sacked for variously expressing critical views on the appalling crimes of the US and US-backed Apartheid Israel. Australia is a craven US lackey and is second only to the US as a supporters of serial war criminal, genocidally racist and grossly human rights-violating Apartheid Israel.
Australian politicians, academics and journalists have been variously smeared, threatened, damaged, and censored for variously criticizing US wars and/or the crimes of Apartheid Israel, the honour list including the world’s most famous journalist Julian Assange (after 10 years still imprisoned in London for truth-telling), John Pilger, Wilfred Burchett, Alan Seymour, Mike Carlton, Scott McIntyre, Dr Sandra Nasr, Yassmin Abdel Magied, Essam Al Ghalib, Stan Grant, Melissa Parke, Shaoquett Moselmane, and Dr Jake Lynch [64].
My own personal experience is relevant here. Mainstream and Establishment lying, misinformation and censorship has severely impacted the author of this Submission. I am an anti-racist Ashkenazi Jewish Australian scientist and humanitarian writer with a sole allegiance to Australia. In a half century scientific career I published over 100 scientific papers and taught science students at a big university for 4 decades. I have also published hundreds of carefully researched and extensively referenced humanitarian articles, and have published 9 huge books. As revealed by my extensive writings I am forthright in condemning injustice and untruth i.e. departures from the core Human ethos of Kindness and Truth (e.g. see [1, 7, 24, 31, 66-71]). However a dozen years ago I was effectively rendered “invisible” in Australia by Mainstream media gatekeepers, this coinciding with egregious and false defamation of me by Zionists with a fervent support for a violent, intolerant, serial war criminal and Australia-violating foreign state, namely Apartheid Israel (see [64] and for details of this abuse see “Jews Against Racist Zionism” [72] and scroll down to “Polya”). This sudden and near-total censorship of me in the interests of an inimical foreign country and by its fervent supporters was like switching off a light.
Australian truth-tellers Witness J and Witness K have been subject to secret trials, imprisonment and abuse. Witness J, a former intelligence officer, was secretly persecuted for truth-telling [73]. Witness K was persecuted in a secret process for revealing the Australian bugging of the Timor L’Este Cabinet [74]. The Australian Labor Government has finally stopped the legal persecution of eminent lawyer Bernard Collaery (former Attorney General of the Australian Capital Territory) who represented Witness K.
The persecution of acclaimed, world-famous Australian journalist and founder of Wikileaks, Julian Assange, continues: he has been imprisoned in London for 10 years, is in failing health, and he is likely to die in a US prison if the UK judicial system delivers him up to the war criminal and merciless Americans. Julian Assange has been subject to sustained and continuing torture for truth-telling [75, 76]. Of particular interest to Australia, Wikileaks-exposed documents revealed that several Labor figures were US “assets” spying on the Labor Government for the US, that a leading Labor figure suggested war with China to war criminal Hillary Clinton, and that a further leading Labor figure promised the Americans that Australia would join an American war with China. Former Labor PM Paul Keating, former Coalition PM Malcolm Fraser, and eminent China experts have been outspoken against this Sinophobic and warmongering lunacy [77-79].
Sadly the excellent, important and must-see 2023 movie “The Trust Fall: Julian Assange” reports 260,000 Iraqi war deaths, consistent with flawed estimates from the epidemiologist-criticized Iraq Body Count of about 300,000 [80]. Unfortunately the awful reality is over 10 times greater since 2003: 3.1 million Iraqi deaths from violence, 1.5 million, and imposed deprivation, 1.6 million [6, 28-32]. The movie also reported 3 million Iraqi child orphans, and that should have warned that 260,000 Iraq War deaths must be a huge under-estimate. An alternative and independent assessment comes from today’s 5 million Iraqi orphans according to the Iraqi High Commission for Human Rights (IHCHR) [81], this implying 10 million Iraqi parent deaths over the last 2 decades if there were only 1 child per family but 3.3 million premature parent deaths if the average Iraqi family has 3 children, (as indeed attested by medical experts [82]), noting that these are just parent deaths (ignoring the premature deaths of Iraqi non-parent adults and children). Iraqi orphans represent about 5% of the world’s orphans. Iraq (population 40 million) has 5 million child orphans whereas in Australia (population 26 million) in 2018 only “33,000 children aged 0–12 were living in out-of-home care”, with two thirds being Indigenous children [83, 84].
The under-estimating of Iraqi deaths in the otherwise excellent, well-intentioned and powerful movie “The Trust Fall: Julian Assange” can be attributed to the dominant Mainstream culture that mostly ignores the horrible realities of past US wars, minimizes violent deaths in such wars, and with egregious and sustained holocaust denial totally ignores horrendous avoidable deaths from war-imposed deprivation [1, 7, 24, 31, 71]. Thus on the occasion of US withdrawal from Iraq in 2011 the Australian ABC (the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, Australia’s equivalent of the mendacious UK BBC) reported that “The withdrawal ends a war that left tens of thousands of Iraqis and nearly 4,500 American soldiers dead” [85]. In contrast, the expert and eminent US Just Foreign Policy organization estimated, based on the data of expert UK analysts and top US medical epidemiologists, 1.5 million violent deaths in the Iraq War (2003-2011), and UN data indicate a further 1.2 million Iraqi avoidable deaths from war-imposed deprivation in this period. Violent deaths and avoidable deaths from violently -imposed deprivation in the Gulf War (1990-1991) and Sanctions period (1990-2003) totalled 0.2 million and 1.2 million, respectively. Accordingly, Iraqi deaths from violence (1.7 million) or war-imposed deprivation (2.9 million) in the period 1990-2011 totalled 4.6 million [1, 6, 86-90].
The Iraq Body Count estimate of 300,000 Iraq War deaths (rejected as highly flawed by expert medical epidemiologists) [88] is about 10 times greater than “tens of thousands” of the US-beholden Australian ABC but is still about 10 times less than the estimate of over 3.3 million (based on Iraqi orphan numbers) that is consonant with estimates from expert polls and world-leading medical epidemiologists [86-90]. The powerful, truth-telling and must-see movie “The Trust Fall: Julian Assange” was deceived into this singular under-estimation by the overwhelming domination of Western Mainstream media by the mendacious, racist, and serial war criminal American Establishment.
Outstanding anti-racist Jewish American journalist I.F. Stone (author of “The Hidden History of the Korean War”: “Governments lie”. Famed US writer Gore Vidal: “Unlike most Americans who lie all the time, I hate lying”. Outstanding Australian writer Peter Carey: “And if I really think there’s a big problem in our society today, it’s that the media is not telling the truth to people and they know what it is. If you really want to know what’s happening [in] the world, you go out and get drunk with journalists and they will tell you what isn’t in the papers. So they’re living – these guys are living every day with the reality of a proprietor, say, or a corporation who owns them will not permit them to tell what they know to be true” [91-94]. US lackey and Zionist-subverted Mainstream Australia has a corrupt culture of entrenched lying in the interests of (a) themselves (cowardice and corruption because to do otherwise would mean being immediately “cancelled” or sacked), and (b) of inimical foreign powers (cowardice, corruption and treason).
(d). Australia-complicit, war criminal and horrendously deadly US exploitation of the 9/11 atrocity.
I do not know who perpetrated the 9/11 atrocity that killed 3,000 innocent people, mostly Americans but including some Australians. However the Western world has been “sold” the “official US version of 9/11” involving hijacking of 4 passenger jets by 19 Muslim non-state terrorists armed with non-lethal box-cutters, and who then flew the planes into the North and South Towers of the World Trade Center (that subsequently totally collapsed), into the second level of the Pentagon, and into the ground, respectively. In science there is total rejection of lying that utterly subverts the science goal of trying to get closer to the truth of things. However the US Center for Public Integrity established that Bush Administration told 935 lies about Iraq alone between 9/11 (2001) and the illegal US, UK and Australian invasion of Iraq (2003) [95] – 935 good reasons to disbelieve the “lying Bush official US version of 9/11”. The mass lying precedent having been set by President George W Bush, President Donald Trump went on to tell 30,000 lies during his administration (2017-2021) [96]. Indeed all US presidents since 9/11 as well as all Western Governments and Mainstream media have adopted the “lying Bush official US version of 9/11” – anyone dissenting in any way from this “version” is dismissed as “mad” or a “conspiracy theorist”.
Nevertheless the great things about America in my perception (having worked there and been imbued with the best of American culture) are freedom of speech and a marvellous if minority cohort of rational, science-informed, and humanitarian Americans committed to Kindness and Truth that are well represented in US universities and colleges. The “lying Bush official US version of 9/11” is pure Hollywood in which psychopathic “men in caves” who can only take off and land a single-engine light aircraft are able to land huge passenger jets precisely on a dime at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, something that passenger jet pilots with decades of training and experience are unable to do.
Indeed there are numerous science, architecture, engineering, aviation, demolition, military and intelligence experts who are compelled as highly trained and experienced professionals (and as decent and responsible citizens) to reject the “lying Bush official US version of 9/11” [97]. The problem with lying is that it necessarily begets further lying. Thus President Barak Obama claimed to have extra-judicially killed the alleged 9/11 perpetrator Osama bin Laden in 2012, but Pakistan ‘s Benazir Bhutto in interview with Sir David Frost in 2007 said that he was already dead and named the person responsible (the BBC deleted out that sentence of the interview) [97]. Pulitzer Prize-winning US journalist Seymour Hersh opined that the US version of the killing of Osama Bin Laden was complete fabrication except for the killing per se, and eminent American economist, writer and commentator Dr Paul Craig Roberts agreed except for saying that the target had actually died many years earlier. Former US-installed Occupied Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai was unable to support the “lying Bush official US version of 9/11” and denied the presence in his country of Al Qaeda (the ostensible reason for the deadly US invasion and 20-year Occupation) [97].
The “lying Bush official US version of 9/11” has about 22 key elements that are inherently unlikely (e.g. terrorists who could only barely land and take off in a light aircraft were able to do extraordinary things with a passenger jet) . If we assign a probability of 0.1 (10%) to each of these elements then the overall probability that this version of events is correct in its totality is a vanishingly small 10-22 [1]. The “lying Bush official US version of 9/11” posits that “high temperature” fires in the buildings “softened” the steel structure in the Twin Towers so that the 100 or so levels pancaked into each other and that the whole building consequently collapsed into a 3-storey pile in about 10 seconds. However the video evidence is that the fires were red with black smoke, indicative of low temperature fires. World Trade Center (WTC) Building number 7 (WTC7) was not hit by planes but collapsed perfectly into its footprint in about 10 seconds. A report by expert US engineers concluded that WTC7 collapsed through simultaneous removal of all support structures i.e. through explosive demolition. However this is ignored by the lying, US-subverted Mainstream [98]. Similarly Professor Niels Harrit (University of Copenhagen) and colleagues established that the 9/11 WTC dust contained unexploded nanothermite high explosive but again the US-subverted West simply did not want to know [99].
Of the 19 alleged perpetrators quickly identified by the US Government none were Afghans, most were Saudis, and none were put on trial because they had all conveniently died (just as an assassinated alleged Osama Bin Laden was quickly buried at sea by the Americans, with this conveniently obviating genetic identification). Similarly, the US-subverted Mainstream ignores the horrendous human cost of post-9/11 US Alliance wars. In 2015 it was estimated that 32 million Muslims had died from violence, 5 million, and from imposed deprivation, 27 million, in 20 countries invaded by the US Alliance since the US Government’s 9/11 false flag atrocity [31, 32].
However the US war on Terror (aka the US War on Muslims) was associated with a long-term accrual cost of about $6 trillion and this had a huge impact on the well-being of US citizens. About 1.5 million Americans die preventably each year from “life-style choice” and “political choice” reasons, the list (including some overlaps) being: adverse hospital events (440,000), smoking (420,000), accidents (147,000), obesity (76,000), alcohol (73,000), drug overdose (69,000), air pollution (60,000), influenza and pneumonia (57,000), lack of health insurance (45,000), suicide (44,000), preventable under-5 infant deaths from comparing US and Singapore data (20,000), homicide (19,000), guns (15,000), and jihadi-caused deaths in America, post-9/11 annual average (4) [100]. Over the last 22 years since 9/11 about (1.5 million per year) x 22 years = 33 million Americans have died preventably. The War on Terror has meant that the US has committed $6 trillion to killing over 30 million Muslims abroad instead of trying to save the lives of over 30 million Americans at home.
Similarly in Australia about 100,000 Australians die preventably each year from “life-style choice” and “political choice” reasons [101], this meaning that about 2.2 million Australians have died thus since 9/11. Australia has an annual “defence” budget of about A$50 billion, some of which would be better spent in keeping Australians alive rather than on genocidal US wars and US-made killing machines. This obscenity is harshly illustrated by the recent Australian-UK-US (AUKUS) Alliance deal whereby Australia will spend about A$400 billion on 8 nuclear-powered submarines from the UK and US. With the exponentially increasing capacity of Artificial Intelligence (AI) these 8 submarines will potentially be AI-detectable White Elephants and Sitting Ducks before any have been delivered.
Corrupt Mainstream Australian lying , racism, bigotry, treason and terror hysteria mean massive diversion of resources from keeping Australians alive to blindly supporting horrendously deadly US state terrorism. Having exploited fear of Communism for 5 decades and thence Islamophobia for 2 decades (despite only 4 Australians ever killed in Australia by jihadi psychopaths), now Sinophobia is the basis for this huge and deadly, and Australian-killing fiscal perversion (despite peaceful China being Australia’s biggest trading partner and Australian Chinese being outstanding contributors to Australian health and wealth).
(e). Unprincipled and corrupt Australian Government and Mainstream media lying over existential nuclear and climate threats.
The World is existentially threatened by nuclear weapons (a post-nuclear holocaust nuclear winter will decimate Humanity in the absence of photosynthesis) [22] and climate change (in the absence of requisite action on climate change, the Biosphere will be devastated, and about 10 billion people will die this century in a worsening Climate Genocide en route to a sustainable human population in 2100 of only about 1 billion people) [22- 25]. In relation to these existential threats to Humanity, Professor Stephen Hawking, has succinctly stated: “We see great peril if governments and societies do not take action now to render nuclear weapons obsolete and to prevent further climate change” [23]. Unfortunately atmospheric greenhouse gases (GHGs) are at record high levels and increasing at record high rates, and Australia is a disproportionately high contributor to this looming catastrophe [24]. The continuing inaction of the World means that a catastrophic plus 2 degrees Centigrade of warming is now effectively unavoidable [24].
The policies of the newly-elected Australian Labor Government (ALG) in these 2 key areas appear to be much better than those of its pro-war and climate criminal Coalition predecessors, but stripped of rhetoric in reality remain extremely bad as outlined below.
(A). The nuclear threat
Under the Australian Labor Government (ALG) Australia (a) blindly backs US nuclear terrorism, (b) is committed to the nuclear-armed AUKUS Alliance, (c) supports visits by nuclear-armed US warships and B52 bombers, (d) will expand the US military presence in Northern Australia, (e) continues to host key nuclear terrorism-related US bases in Australia, (f) allows the joint Australia-US spying bases at Pine Gap to target war criminal US drone strikes on 6 Muslim countries, including nuclear-armed Pakistan, (g) is locked into getting 8 nuclear-powered submarines at a cost of about A$400 billion for these predictably AI-detectable White Elephants (jeopardizing conventional Australian defence, risking a local arms race by helping threaten nuclear-armed China, India, Pakistan, and North Korea, as well as other nations, and making Australia a depository for nuclear waste), (h) is making Australia a key target in any escalating nuclear exchange, (i) ignores UK nuclear contamination of Australia, and (j) refuses to sign and ratify the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW) that is crucial for the survival of Humanity [102] (notwithstanding that such ratification is actually Labor Party policy).
(B). The climate threat.
Under the policies of the climate criminal Australian Labor Government (ALG) (a) Australia will remain among the worst in the world for climate policy, climate inaction, as a leading fossil fuel exporter, and climate criminality in 16 major areas, (b) Australia with 0.33% of the World’s population remains responsible for about 5.4% of the world’s total greenhouse gas GHG) pollution, (c) Australia will permit over 100 new coal and gas projects, and (d) Australia will continue to use dirty gas as a “transition fuel” (methane (CH4) leaks, has a Global Warming Potential 105 times that that of carbon dioxide (CO2) on a 20 year basis, and it can be readily determined by a smart first year high school student that depending on the rate of leakage burning CH4 can be dirtier GHG-wise than burning coal) [103], and (e) Australia rejects a science-demanded proper Carbon Price (US$200 per tonne CO2-equivalent) (an International Monetary Fund (IMF) report on climate change mitigation advocated a Carbon Tax of US$75 per ton of CO2 by 2030 that, if progressively implemented in the G20 countries alone, would prevent an estimated 4 million air pollution deaths by 2030; the present global average is merely US$2 per tonne CO2-equivalent) [24, 103-108].
Fossil fuel corporation-beholden Australian Governments, whether Labor or Coalition, refuse to adopt the crucial necessity of a proper Carbon Price and Carbon Tax, and this is where they are guilty of the biggest corruption in Australian history. In Humanity’s present slow-motion suicide the World resolutely ignores the immense and ever-increasing Carbon Debt due to fossil fuel exploitation. In particular the inescapable Carbon Debt from gas exploitation alone is increasing annually by US$12.0 trillion for the World and by US$118 billion for climate criminal Australia’s LNG exports, or by about 3.1% and 7.6%, respectively, of the GDP of US$96.5 trillion and US$1.55 trillion for the World and Australia, respectively [108].
If they only knew, the young would be unquenchably angered by this horrendous annual increase in an inescapable Carbon Debt that they will have to pay (Australia’s Carbon Debt is US$5 trillion and increasing at US$660 billion each year and at US$40,000 per head per year for under-30 year old Australians) [106]. While conventional debt can be evaded by default, bankruptcy, running away or printing money, Carbon Debt is inescapable – thus, for example and as understood by Bengalis in particular, cities, towns, villages and arable land will be inundated unless sea walls are built in response to global warming, increasing sea levels and increased ferocity of storms and storm surges [24].
For climate criminal Australia the annual increase in Australia’s Carbon Debt from gas exports alone of US$118 billion (A$130 billion) is 17.7% of Australia’s total annual Carbon Debt of US$664 billion and is 7.6% of Australia’s GDP of US$1,553 billion [108].
Yet the climate criminal Australian Labor Government in its recent 2023 Budget announcement made a big song and dance about intending over the next 4 years to extract only A$0.6 billion per year from the highly polluting gas export industry or a mere A$0.6 billion x 100/ A$130.0 billion = 0.5% of the annual damage-related cost of the Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) exports [108].
Present Coalition and Labor electoral success heavily depends upon donations from corporations including fossil fuel corporations, support from the pro-fossil fuels, US-owned Murdoch media empire, and a prosperous economy based on fraudulently ignoring the damage-related cost of GHG pollution.
As with the analogy for the paltry global annual Carbon Price of US$2 per tonne CO2 instead of the US$200 required (we tell the restaurant owner that we will only pay $2 of the $200 bill) one is reduced to another simple analogy that schoolchildren (if not neoliberal, corrupt and mendacious Australian Labor and Coalition politicians) can also readily understand: the Australian Government causes $1 million in damage to your property but makes a big song and dance over compensating you with a mere $5,000. No wonder Independent Senator David Pocock (no doubt with Greens support) wants legislation to ban projects that would harm future generations.
Final comments.
Lying by Business As Usual (BAU), neoliberal, pro-war, climate criminal and mendacious Mainstream journalists, editors, politicians, academics and commentators has made Australia complicit in horrendous US war crimes [109, 110]. While Australia can and should dissociate itself from terracidal nuclear terrorism (it does not have to be a nuclear target), Labor and the Coalition are locking Australia into US and UK nuclear terrorism. They are rewarded lavishly for this corrupt and mendacious conduct in the interests of (a) themselves and (b) of foreign governments and corporations (corruption and treason). Failure of Australian Governments to act on the enormous and ever-increasing Carbon Debt from fossil fuel exploitation is corrupt defrauding of future generations on a gigantic scale. The Coalition and Labor have corruptly acted with cowardice, dishonesty, self-interest and treason to betray Australia and Humanity over the key existential threats from nuclear weapons and climate change.
